Hello – it’s Angel and Patrick!

Last week, Patrick flew in from London for the Fall-O-Ween show and Angel picked him up and then headed to Pittsburgh. You’re probably wondering, “why Pittsburgh?!” The reason is because we had heard that one of the worlds largest floating ducks was going to be there – so we just had to see it and share it with all of you!

The duck was created by a Dutch artist and has travelled around the world – spreading happiness wherever it goes. Before coming to Pittsburgh it was in Amsterdam, Belgium, and Hong Kong. The trip to Pittsburgh was its FIRST stop in the good old US of A. We thought that was wonderful that is chose to be in the birth state of QVC!!

We packed up Angel’s car and headed over to Pittsburgh. And what a beautiful drive it was – the leaves on the trees on the mountains were starting to change – Angel said that it looked as though God had taken a paintbrush and painted the landscape just for our drive.

On the way over we sang songs, ate lots of candy and snacks – we felt like kids again!

As soon as we dropped our bags off, we went duck ‘hunting’ – and it wasn’t long until we saw her tail feathers – and WOW, what a sight she was! She was floating in all her glory at the intersection of the Alleghany and Monongahela Rivers right on the beautiful banks of Pittsburgh! Here’s a picture of us with her:

We were so excited and impressed to see how many others were there to welcome her – and how much love and happiness there was. People were dressed up and full of celebration. Here’s a picture of some young girls celebrating a birthday – aren’t they adorable in their costumes?

We had posted on our Facebook pages that we were going to be there – so we had some wonderful Quackers meet us. Here’s our new friend Collette – doesn’t she look Quack-Tabulous in her Quacker top?!

And here’s a picture of our favorite t-shirt of the day!

We couldn’t help but think that Jeanne would have loved being there – especially since the mere presence of this floating duck brought happiness and laughter to everyone who was there. But then again, Jeanne knew years and years before of the power that ducks can have on people!

After spending a wonderful afternoon surrounded by so much fun and happiness, we decided it was time to do a little celebrating of our own. We really wanted to invite our new duck friend with us to dinner, but somehow we knew she wouldn’t fit into the restaurant, so we brought one of her little ‘sisters’ to join us.

After dinner, we had to have one more look at our friend – how amazing does she look against the Pittsburgh evening sky?!:

Happy, Happy Friday to each and every one of you – like our new friend, we hope you spread love and happiness to all of those around you! Quacker Hugs & Love!
