Hi Ladies,
How’s everybody doing? I hope all is well with all of you. I had a mammogram this week. Don’t know the results yet. It was quite an ordeal getting home. I take a couple buses to get there, & back. On the way home I missed the bus that brings me back here. So I took the light rail (Max) which goes thru town. I got off down town to run an errand, thinking I’d catch the next one. Well, I went back to where I got off to catch the next train. I see red & blue lights several blocks away where the train would make a turn to come up the street. a few minutes later a man comes up to us telling us the train was involved in an accident & there wouldn’t be any more coming any time soon. We were left to our own devices on getting where we needed to go. He said shuttle buses, but he didn’t know when they’d show up. Of course it’s a fairly warm afternoon. I took a different train to another part of town to catch the bus I’d normally take home. I got to the bus stop & wouldn’t ya know I just missed it, again!! So, I waited for the next one. One bus flew by not stopping for passengers. When the next one showed up I told the other guy waiting with me I was gonna step out & stop it if I had to. I finally got home 3 hrs later!! The appt. was at 1:00!! Needless to say I was dead tired!!!
I have a few notes from your posts so here it goes.
I see someone has Dianne for a middle name. Do you know how rare it is to see Dianne spelled with 2 ns. Everybody wants to spell it with one.
I have a 45 record of the song Amanda from 1973. It was sung by Don Williams. It’s a beautiful song.
Ok, now to food. What is polk salad greens? I’ve heard of Polk Salad Annie, the song. Never heard of salad greens tho. All your “holiday meals” sound delicious!!! The way I cook pork steaks, chops, & sometimes chicken is to fry it up so it’s nice & crispy (not burned), remove from the skillet, pour out the access grease. Take a can of crm of mushroom soup & add to the remaining drippings. Add half a can of water to the soup mixing well. add the meat to the soup, making sure the meat is covered with the soup. Cover with lid & simmer for a few minutes on med heat. The soup makes a delicious gravy over mashed potatoes, & serve with fave veggie.
We are back to normal temps for April. We’ve dropped 25-30 degrees since the first of the week. we had a couple thunderstorms come thru, but nothing like what you guys get. It rained all night last night, but was cloudy today. That’s more like it.
I’m sending along a pic I took of the Rhododendrons out front. They’re just opening up. Normally they open up around Mother’s Day. It’s the hot weather we’ve been having.
I know what you guys are talking about writing up a post only to have it disappear. I had the same thing happen, but I couldn’t remember all I’d written. So you’re not alone. It’s
frustrating!!!
Have a great weekend.
