Hi Ladies,
I’m baaaaaaack. I hope everyone is safe tonight. I heard on the news how bad those storms are that are coming your way. they sound terrifying!!! Make me glad I live out here in the NW. yes we do
have storms, etc., but nothing like what I’ve heard on the news today. Stay safe!!!
Now for the reason I wasn’t on here. Over the weekend (early Sunday AM) I had to call the ambulance to take me to the ER. I don’t know what I did but during the night I woke up in EXCRUCIATING
PAIN!!! I could not get comfortable. When I turned on my side I could feel my heart flutter. Well having congestive heart failure, I got a little scared, so I called 911. The pain was in the upper back, mid section. I’d heard that sometimes women’s symptoms are different from men & back pain is one of the symptoms. Thankfully the EKG turned out fine so the heart was okay. I was diagnosed with Acute bilateral thoracic back pain. I have no clue what I did, cause I got undressed, ready for bed, did the usual bedtime routine, no pain. It wasn’t until later that night when I was in bed that it hit. I don’t know if I turned over wrong or what, but it was verrrrry painful!!! The Dr gave me a prescription for a muscle relaxer & gave me instructions on how to deal with the pain, ice, then heat, alternating.
I did some gentle back exercises, & I feel a lot better now. The meds make sleepy so I sleep a lot & it has helped. Don’t be concerned or worried or feel bad. I’ve had a bad back my whole life. But it’s usually the lower back that I have the most problem with. My primary Dr. wants me to come in tomorrow, so this should be interesting. Because I went to the ER by ambulance is the reason why, I’m sure.
It’ll take a few days to heal up, but I can still get around, more slowly than ever tho.
I did feel well enough to cook today. I made a batch of Butterfinger cookies. They’re not bad either. A change from the usual chocolate chip cookies.
We went from July temps back to the normal April temps this week. Cloudy, showers (off & on), cool. Upper 50s/low 60s. That’s more normal for here. but they say we’re in for upper 70s this weekend.
Gail, those kids costumes are fantastic!!! Hard to believe they’re made of crepe paper. Wow!!! Somebody’s sure talented!!
I know what you mean about your mothers not wanting to give up their homes. I used to do live in caregiving for the elderly women who didn’t want to move out of her home. I was able to live there with them. Some were a joy to take care of & some were not. Same goes for the families. Some were really nice, & some not so much. I do hope they are able to take care of themselves. I’d hate to see anyone of them end up in a nursing home. there isn’t enough money on this planet that could get me to work in one of those places. Give me one on one every time!!! It’s the bad caregivers that give the good ones a bad name. I hear how some go into the homes & rob the old folks blind & I just blow a gasket every time I hear that!!!
Let me change the subject. What is American Pickers? I;ve never heard of it. I’ve heard of “Hoarders” or Storage Wars. Are they similar? I’m puzzled about why would anyone want an old train car just to sit out in a field & do nothing with it? I could understand if they were going to fix it up & live in it or use it for extra company.
Well, I guess that’s it for tonight.
Stay safe.
Dianne
