Good Afternoon Everyone,
First and foremost I am sending prayers and virtual hugs to Christine. I am very sorry for her loss. This Covid 19 has changed the world and so many of the the lives in it. I pray nothing like this ever happens again.
Adele if Bobby just turned fifty he was born in the year that Colleen was married. We were married in 1973-long after the moon landing. Otherwise you had a very long pregnancy. lol
Colleen, Jenny’s new dog is a beagle hound mix. She kind of reminds me of Snoopy. I hope that you watched The Masked Singer as it was not a rerun. They had another of those after party shows too. I wonder how much in advance that this is filmed and if they will be able to finish it out. So many programs were cut short this season.
Can everyone please come on and update us as to what your state is doing right now. The stay at home order has been extended to the end of May in Illinois so we will be home for another month. Probably more as I see many of the states that have reopened still tell people over 65 to stay home. I think that maybe Colleen’s and Barbara’s states may be reopening some things but am not sure. So I would appreciate updates on everyone’s states as I just can not keep track.
So having a lot of time to think I’ve come to the conclusion that what I miss most of all is family. I miss our Friday night get togethers. How about you all?
I guess because today is Jenny’s birthday and we won’t even see her it is hitting home today. Those things are really the top of my list.
After that I miss going out to eat. At this stage in our lives that is often the evening’s entertainment for us.
I imagine this summer will feel quite different from other years as we usually take a few trips over the summer and early fall and I can;t imagine feeling safe going out and about for quite a while. My hope is that next summer things will be “normal” again because by then hopefully there will be a vaccine and life can continue on as before for us older members of the population. So I am trying to think of this summer as the year that we do something different. In many ways my life has not changed as I stay at home a lot and since Greg still works we didn’t normally go out during the week. Now we don’t go out at all. We order and pick up groceries from WalMart so we have not even been in a store to shop in six weeks at least. So our world has shrunk quite a bit. Greg usually does some work and makes phone calls in the morning but has done all he can do from home by afternoon although he still may get work calls throughout the day. My hair is getting long and of course the roots are showing. I will probably just let them go for the time being although I guess i could touch them up if I chose. My sister said she did hers and I know many other women have too. But no one sees me anyway so it doesn’t matter much. I dress in comfy clothes all the time now. Some days I have been in PJ’s most of the day and for right now a bra is optional. lol
Mostly I am grateful that we and our family members are healthy and I pray every day that they remain that way. I do the same for you all and your families too. I am also grateful that the kids are able to work and support their families through this-so many people are suffering financially – they are blessed to be considered essential workers. We are also blessed to have food on the table each night. I am so grateful for that.
We have heroes in our medical and first responder communities all through out our country. It is unimaginable the things that they have seen and how hard they are working. I also respect the governors of the states who have stepped up to the plate and made the hard decisions when not much direction was coming from Washington. There are still many unknowns and with each week we learn more about this virus and what we can do to help those afflicted. This morning there was news about a hopeful treatment and great minds are working tirelessly around the world for a vaccine. So even when days look dark we need to keep up hope. Patience truly is a virtue right now.
Greg has been doing a lot of reading and he is starting to be convinced that the virus escaped from a lab in Wuhan. He says a lot of evidence points in that direction. If that indeed turns out to be the case-although with the Chinese government i don’t know if it ever can be totally proven and chances are they would never admit to it-In any case if that was the situation I hope it would be a lesson to the rest of the world to come down strongly on those who are looking at biological warfare. I don’t know what the rules about that are across the world but it is something that should potentially be explored.
On a lighter note. We are looking at sun and 70’s for the next few days so perhaps spring has sprung. I always think of spring as a time of new beginnings so hopefully soon the tide will turn on this awful pandemic and we can start looking forward to the future with hope instead of dread.
Sorry for the ramblings,
Gail -
Here’s some May pictures.
-
I had a picture for pet Mom’s too but cannot find it mixed with all the corona virus memes. when i come across it I will post.
-
Hey Gailster
No ramblings any worst than mine!! I have been ok, and then over the edge at a moments notice. I think the most difficult thing is, you have to assume the virus is everywhere, and act accordingly. All you need is a minuscule spec, and you could be history. THAT is what’s making everyone crazy. We are all fighting to keep all our family and friends alive and are powerless to know how. Those who have to go out shopping have the worst role. I have been ordering a lot, through Mercado and Instacart. I paid the 99.00 a year for unlimited shopping through Instacart, so I can order as much as I want. I have been giving very generous tips, as they are keeping us safe. God bless them! Bobby does go out on Sunday to shop, and then I order what he cannot get ( or order before he goes, so he has less to get) . He has the big mask with the filters on them, so he is safe. He will nto answer his phone in a store, and when he gets home he gets right into the shower, and clothes in the washer. We cant get safer than that.
All we can do is pray. I pray every night for all of you, my friends, neighbors and family, and all the people in this country
I quit Facebook. I had an old friend who was really getting under my skin. She sent at least 10 emails a day on stupid posts about being bored. At one point, I said I wish I were bored but I was too busy trying to find flowers for a funeral of a dear, dear, friend I could nto attend. Not even her family could, as hubby was limited to 9 people, and they have 15 in their family. She sent me a pic of Jesus, and a long saying to keep the faith. That did it. I also realized Facebook is a great place to get hacked, and i am still getting threatening emails- 3 so far, to send bit coin, or they will expose me …wait for it…..gross masturbating to porn sites…..and they will ruin me. I spoke with the police, and have been sending them the most recent emails.
My kids are hysterical at the visual of that one!! I did send then an f u back. Police said I should nto have answered, as it could place me at more risk. The reason I opened it is they had my bank password in the notes section. Needless to say, changed all the passwords too. A lot of people up here have received them, so I am not alone.
It really would be funny, if they did not have my password. I am God thankful they were not able to get into any accounts. I already have had a fraud alert on all credit bureaus since I got hacked through Macy’s, and they gave me a year’s subscription for one of those credit deep web monitors. Oh well. This is how we need to protect ourselves now, with all this deep dark web crap. By the way…….I have NEVER been on a porn site…..LOL
In the positive side, the sun shone today. Getting more rain tomorrow, but it will be in the 70’s on Sunday!
I am getting my sense of humor back. I have not cried at all today! That is a good thing.
Massachusetts is still closed, and will remain so for at least 2 more weeks. Our governor has a new committee on reopening the state, and he is all about the safety. I love him! Charlie Baker is the best. he is a Republican, and I have voted for him every time- I am a Democrat. he does what is right for the people, not the party. he is a good, honorable man.
Hope you all have a good weekend, with the sun shining and birds singing.
Adele
PS…Blue bloods is nto a repeat tonight!! -
forgot to say….Happy Birthday to Jenny!!!!

Gail, Pa opened golf courses, state parks, construction work today. Next Friday the 8th some counties in the Northwest are going to yellow with more things open but no beauty shops. nail salons, gyms, movie theaters, sit down restaurants as you cannot social distance with those things as they are hands on. We are still on red here& I am good with that. If when they move counties to yellow they will shut them down again. The Gov. said it is a slow process. I am glad he is putting safety first but many are very angry & want everything open. Even when everything is open you still need to wear the masks & social distance. There will be no hugging, kissing, handshakes. I am just so afraid people will not listen & put us under stay at home much longer.
When I went for my hearing test today everyone I saw had masks. After my test I went thru the drive thru & got some lunch.Adele I don’t want to freak you out but Bobby’s mask won’t protect him. It is to protect others from him & their masks are what protects him. What I find frightening is people can have no symptoms & be spreading it around. One man died never knowing he had it.
You can do as you want with Facebook but you can block or unfriend a person that is bothering you.
When I worked at the bank we all got those sexual e-mails. Just did not open & deleted. But hat is frightening they had your account number.Gail I forgot to say I read like Greg that they thought the virus could have cane from a lab in China but have since heard it was not true. But I don’t trust China anymore than I trust Trump so who knows.
I wished Jenny Happy Birthday on Facebook. I keep hoping she will post a picture of the new dog. But have not seen one so far. Come to think of it I never saw a photo of the other one either. -

I thought of something else Grocery shopping is a hassle be glad you can order & pick up, The aisles have arrows & are one way & once you get to check out you must stay behind the line & cannot put anything on the belt until the customer before you has been bagged up & left. Wish we could order & then pick up but not an option for any store here in the boonies. I keep getting e-mails to order KFC & they will deliver but nope not here no one delivers here to far away.

Hi Gail,
They are talking about opening restaurants but there will be less tables and spaced farther apart. They will have to wait in line to be let in and not wait all together. I am waiting to hear that we will have to have reservations. None of that sounds bad to me. The one thing that sounds funny they will be wearing masks. I know that they want to be safe but it just sounded funny.
Jenny’s puppy sounds so cute. They will have a lot of fun with him. I am assuming it is a he I do not know why. I guess because the dogs that we have are males. We went thru enough of ending up with puppies.
That is what I miss most is the grands. Aliza has asked me a couple of times if she can spend the night. I hate telling her that she can’t right now. She does not understand. The other kids just tell us they miss us and can’t wait to see us.
The sun is shinning here. It is nice out but the rain is on the way back. I hope it shines all day tomorrow but it is going to rain tomorrow night. It will be better with the sun shinning.
Have a good night.
Colleen
p.s. tell Jenny Happy Birthday! -
Hi Adele,
Everything is getting better around here. The septic is fixed and the furnace and air will be fixed on Monday. They will be wearing masks and doing all the protective things that they are supposed to do. So everything will be done and we can relax. No more people running in and out and no more thing going wrong for awhile for awhile.
I am glad that you are cheering up and smiling more. The stress is getting to be too much. It is hard not to get together with our families like we use to and really want to. I found out that my daughter that works at the dollar store is not wearing a mask. I could not believe it when she told me. She said it smothers her and she cannot stand it. I told her if she thinks that is bad if she gets this virus she will have a lot more on then just the mask. It is hard to get her to listen to anything.
That is terrible that you cannot get on the computer without being harrassed. It is getting really bad. Well that would make me not want to ever get on face book.
Well that is about all from here. Have a great night.

Happy Anniversary Colleen and Ron!
-
Hey Sue
I am with you all the way on this. I am so afraid others are not doing the right thing, and it will affect the rest of us. It is bad up here. We know about 20 people who have died- not all personally- the kids’ friends have lost uncles, aunts, and parents. Some customers have died who were retired, and then our neighbor. They closed a Walmart up here for the virus- not in our city. People just do not listen. Today it was beautiful and they showed people in the parks riding bikes, and walking with no masks. Our governor said masks are ordered for anyone outside their home. They just said camp grounds will open next week, in NH. Seriously??
I pray they develop a vaccine quick. that is our only hope.
I had a shopping meltdown on a day I was feeling very low. I ogt a few outside decorations form the Q, and told the kids and all they can pick which one they want to buy me for mothers Day….LOL I figured yard stuff would be nice, since nobody can go anywhere. Ill atathc the pics , as Gary helped me get them out of the boxes today.
I am glad you got your ea exam, and you were able to get yourself a safe lunch. We need to do something to make us feel good.
Please stay safe….hey, did you love Blue Bloods last night????? I did!
Adele -
Sue- please check your grocery stores, as you may be surprised. If you try to do an on line order, it could pop up with a shopping service. Up here, it is Instacart, and Mercado.
I had no idea they did that up here, as it is not advertised- go figure! They charge 15.00 , or you can do 99.00 for the entire year, as many times as you want. As I have done it a few times, I finally did the 99.00, as it is a lot cheaper. They will text you while they shop, and ask if you want replacements or credit for things they do not have. I am beyond thrilled with it! I sincerely hope you will be lucky, and be able to do it.
Adele -
Happy Anniversary to Colleen and Ron!!!
Plan a special meal, you deserve it!!
Adele

Hey Colleen
Well, today I did nto get nay nasty threatening email. Maybe they saw I forwarded them to our police chief….LOL
OMG….I would die if one of my kids did not wear a mask. I will say extra prayers she will be safe.
I am glad you have the repair people coming, so all can be completed. Also glad they will use safety precautions. I can’t believe we have to do all these things now to just be safe in our own homes. Have these people been to your home before, doing repairs?
This afternoon we were looking to see if anything interesting was on TV, and the second mama Mia movie was just coming on. I called Tillie to have her watch it downstairs too. It is such a beautiful movie with gorgeous scenery, and such nice songs and dancing. Pure entertainment. Sooo….Bobby comes upstairs and says…OMG, you are all watching this, I am going to gag…..LOL
Gary got the cover off the table outside today, so we can sit out there when it is nice. It was near 70 today, and tomorrow will be nice too.
Marissa sent me some pics today, and one with the baby and the dog on the floor. He rolled over! He is only 4 months old. Marissa thinks it was an accident. I told her now that he has done it, expect it. He seems to be a very strong baby. I am missing so much of his cuteness. We face timed today too. He was in a good mood, and smiled a lot. He is teething, and has been fussy, and tired. But, today he was very happy.
Hope you have a good night! I miss our every other weekend sleepovers with Aizen and JJ too. Thank God we have phones where we can see each other.
Have a good night….did you see Blue Bloods???/ Loved it last night!
Adele -
Hello all, and happy anniversary Colleen and Ron! Hope you all have had a great day. It has been so nice here today. Jerry grilled this evening, and that was nice. 50 years is certainly something to be very proud of. It is just mind boggling to me when I think of the last fifty years with so much happening and so many memories. Sometimes I wish the boys would sit down with us and listen to stories of our past but I know they are young and making memories of their own. Like the moonwalk, memorable presidents, so many things from history.
Honestly Gail I am not really sure what is opening today in our state (Tn.) We are going to keep wearing masks, I don’t go in any public place, Jerry goes in the grocery or pharmacy only when necessary. We order mostly on line, and try to get as much as we can through the pickup at Walmart. Our doctor called us this week and did a telephone visit rather than have us come in to the office. It was just our regular (not sick) check. I have a visit with the heart Doctor the middle of May and they are to call and tell me what to do. So I am not much help knowing what has opened, but I will try to find out. I do lots of reading too, play on my iPad, watch more tv/movies than ever, walk around outdoors. I think sometimes I will go crazy since this “isolation” began for me in Dec. I miss the kids and Colin so much. When we talked to him Friday he said “Come take me to your house MiMi” I thought my heart was going to break, but we are so thankful they are healthy. We miss Neal so much too. He has this way of kidding with Lisa and it is so good to hear them and the quiet is so loud right now. I know we are all praying for good health for those we love.
I bet the little ones are really growing Colleen and ADELE. That teething is so painful. How do the new mommies do the doctor visits? I would think they would not want the babies around anyone, but they have to do the well baby visits. ADELE I am so sorry to hear of the computer/email problems you have been having. That sounds so scary. Good thing you notified the authorities.
We made a big pot of vegetable soup and cornbread yesterday. We put 1/2 in a big pot for Joey and Lisa. They came by but only stayed a minute. Gosh I miss them too. Both are afraid for us. The soup was tasty. Made enough for us to have another meal too.
Guess I better go for now. Jerry is asleep in his chair. Lol But I will gladly take this and be grateful for our blessings. This is what is helping me right now. Barbara -
Hi Adele,
I am glad that the threatening e-mails have stopped. You sure did not need that in your life. right now. It was smart to send that to the police. I hope they can catch them.
The man who is doing the furnace and air has done work for Ron’s sister and bil. They said that he does a really good job and stands behind his work. This man use to work for the original man that owned the company. When he got sick this guy bought the company and carried out all the wishes of the owner. So that made us think a lot of him.
I did not see the Blue Bloods last night. What happened and who was the extra person at the table? I cannot believe that I missed it. We were just busy yesterday and did not get done til late.
I missed the second Mamma Mia also. What channel was it on? It may have been on a channel we do not get. We do not get net flex or any of those channels. The first one was so good. Were any of the original people in the second one or were they all different.
The babies are growing so fast. Grayson is getting to be a little butter ball. Maybe he is getting ready to start moving more. It will be interesting if he will start rolling over or if he is a little chunky and can’t. lol It will be interesting to see
Maybe this virus will be over soon and the kids can come home. Mine are going to come over one day next week. We are going to stay outside and they are going to set the chairs up so we are far apart. It will be fun to see them all and spend time with them.
Well that is about all from here. Have a great night.
Colleen -
Hi Barbara,
Thank-you for for the wishes. We had a good day even though we were alone. We picked up food for dinner Ron got Mexican and I got Colton’s. (steak house). We just came home and ate and then watched tv.
They have those mom’s or grandma’s memories that you can write that in and keep it for them. They will enjoy reading it. They can also pass it down to their kids.
It seems to see the doctor over the phone instead of in person. My last appointment with the back doctor was on the phone. I hope this is not going to be a new way of doing things.
Your soup sounds really good. That was nice that you sent some to Lisa and Joey. They will enjoy it. Are they still working? I figure that Joey is but not sure about Lisa do not remember what she does. My mind id going.
My great grand is really growing. He is getting really chubby but so cute. All I have seen lately is pictures and would be glad to see him in person again.Babies are so cute and cuddly. I know that you miss your little one. I am so glad that you got to see him before they moved.
Well that is about all from here. Have a good night.
Colleen -
Hey Barbara
I was going to make corn bread yesterday snd then Bobby went to get take out. So I did not make it. Lol. There are less and less take out open up here
You are right. The quiet outside is deafening We all miss the nose of kids playing my neighbors boys ate so freaked out they won’t go in their yard.
Weather is pretty up here today. I have heard a new bird lately snd Zi can’t figure out what he is. Nor have I seen him.
It is a new bird song. Lol
The meat shortage is starting. People allied only two packages of meat and the packages are small. So last night a Heather says…… just do you people know I will not eat squirrel so don’t get any ideas…… lol. Lol
A friend of mine tried to order a freezer t stock some meat and it won’t be delivered until September
Hope your day is good. Heard there will be storms for some of you. Please be careful
Adele -
Hey Colleen
The extra person st the table was Joes son. Nobody knew about him of course
Mama Mua was in one of the paid channels Not sure which one. Lol
So glad you two had a nice anniversary. When this is over I bet your family will do something nice.
You two are such a nice couple. You give marriage a good name!!
Happy Anniversary!! -
HI Sue,
I totally agree with you about reopening. I think many places are doing it too quickly. I understand about people wanting to work but people are just going out now and totally ignoring wearing masks or social distancing. I think there are two kinds of people-half take it seriously and the other half just doesn’t care or doesn’t believe it’s a threat. I seriously hope none of those people who don’t seem to be concerned lose a loved one to this disease . as they will have to change their mind under devastating circumstances.
I wish you had a WalMart close to you where you could pick up your groceries. It isn’t ideal when you can’t see the stuff for yourself but for right now it’s better than having to go into the store.
I will see if I can find a picture of the dogs to post. Sometimes I have a problem getting stuff on here if it’s not in the right file on my computer. I’m not too tech savvy.
I am coming to accept that we will probably not be going anywhere this summer and will be spending it mostly at home. It’s just too scary to think of going out and coming into contact with someone who could be carrying the disease and possibly give it to us. I don’t necessarily like it but we will do whatever it takes to remain healthy even if people think we are being overly cautious.
Gail -
Hi Colleen,
The new puppy is a girl. They named her Lucy. The other dog is a boy and his name is Luke.
We had a nice weekend-the weather was sunny and warm but this week we go back to the 50’s again. So it seems like we are going to probably go from 50’s to 80’s probably in one day.
I have no idea when we will ever feel comfortable going into a restaurant. I see all these things as being months away.
I’m glad you had a nice, if quiet, anniversary. Hopefully you got to at least talk to the kids on that day.
We did Facetime with Jenny on Saturday. It made me feel so much better just to see them.
Gail -
Barbara,
We do pretty much the same thing. Go out to do our WalMart pickup for groceries and go there also for our meds. They bring them right out to the car. Same with the groceries. Those are basically the only places we have been other than driving through the bank. Greg goes to the apartment to clean and mow the lawn. Fortunately we are kind of homebodies even though we also like to get out and do things too. But we can always find things to amuse ourselves. Greg is getting an early taste of retirement. Although he is still working but he can only do so much from home so he is normally done by early afternoon. Usually it’s phone calls and computer work for him in the mornings. The golf courses are open but I have no idea if he will even want to golf yet. We’ll see. I’m sure there will be no league this year. I feel bad for the kids as I’ll bet the swimming pool won’t be open this year.
Most of all I am just grateful that the family is working and staying healthy. We have learned to appreciate much that we took for granted before.
Gail -
Hi Adele,
Glad the threatening emails have stopped. The only good thing I have seen from this pandemic is that the robocalls have stopped.
I know. I can’t believe the people walking around standing close together without masks. What part of what has been happening for the last two months here don’t they get. People think they are invincible until they are not.We have turned into a society that seems to have no concern for the other guy. It makes me sad. As much as they say we are all in this together it seems like half the people don’t believe it and think it is all about what each individual wants. Maybe because I am the older generation I am just more cautious about this. But I also like to think I am wiser too. And realize how precious each and every human life is.
On another note. I love your new garden decor. I especially like the uncle Sam. Is he from the Q too? I can’t believe your neighbor’s kids won’t even go in their yard. I hope they get over that as it is good for them to go outdoors and play-especially now.
I know Jenny’s kids go in the yard and play. I sent them Amazon gift cards for Easter and I know one thing Kendall bought was a backyard volley ball set so I think they will be playing that. Their cousins two doors down could probably play with them as long a they social distanced.
Gail -
I think I have a picture of the dogs now.
-
Here’s a few funnies.

Gail thanks for the doggie pictures. The new beagle reminds me of our Inky. Only Inky was more black hence the name. He was quite a fighter as in fight to live. Dad found him laying on the road just newly born, Must have been tossed from a car. We did not think he would make it but fed him with a dropper, kept him warm & loved & he survived to a very old age.
-
We went to Costo today. I sat in the car and read my magazine while Jerry went in. They have posted on all doors that masks are mandatory for admission. All the employees had them on too inside and out. I was happy to see this. We were able to buy ground beef so we got enough for several meals. I split it up when we got home. They told Jerry that next week they have an entire trailer load coming in. Course hubby forgot what day he was told. So will have to try calling. It was very warm here today. Did a little raining late this evening, but stopped after about half hour. Bet you got some too Colleen.
Sue, that is such a sweet story about your little beagle puppy rescued by just the right people. I love those stories.
Gail your little doggie pics are so cute. They are so lucky to have a good family to take care of.
Colleen, Lisa is still working too. Even though she is in management now, she does the after hours clinic with one of the doctors and sometimes fills in at the sports medicine clinic. She is really a hard worker. I worry about them both. Joey is in the part of psychiatry where emergency cases are brought, and Lisa doesn’t know either who might be sick. It is so scary. I know you all feel the same about your family and friends.
I am so happy the robot calls have slowed down too Gail. They were driving us crazy. We had to buy new landline telephones at Costo today. Ours are so old, and we have to have the landline. Our cell phones will not work living out here so far in the country and this metal roof also affects our cell phones. Joey told us that landline phones are getting harder to find.
ADELE, how is your mom doing? I bet she misses the regular family routine too. Does she use her stair chair better now? I surely hope so.
Better close for now. We had takeout Chinese for dinner. And grapes for dessert. I asked Jerry didn’t they have any cake or pies in there? He muttered something to the effect “grapes are better for us” meaning he didn’t look lol take care all Barbara -
Hey Gailster
I hope they stop completely. So aggravating, and I get so mad every time I see one. These cyber thieves are unbelievable.
I can’t believe the crazy people protesting to open the state. I have this new thing I do with the Sunday paper. I read every name in the obituaries, town by town. then I look at every picture of the poor souls who are gone. They deserve at least the dignity of someone looking at their name and face. Some I read, if something speaks to me. There was a 7 month old baby, not covid related, who had surgery after surgery for his inherited birth defect. the rest were mostly in their 70 and 80’s. A few were 90, and some were middle aged. It took me 1 1/2 hours to go through them all. The pages went on and on.
When this is over, someone needs to do a memorial for all these souls, who are victims of this pandemic. Their names to be somewhere where they will remain forever, so they can be read. They deserve that, and their loved ones deserve it.
I love my garden birds too….LOL I hope they will get out there, as we are getting cold temps again. The patriotic man came from the Q too. I did not take the big whirligig out of the box, as that is too big to keep inside without getting damaged. Ill get a pic of it when it is safely in it;s spot. I guess I went a little “Q nuts”….but, i figured, Bobby, Heather, Tillie and Gary can each pic a piece to buy me….LOL
I love the pic of the new puppy. that is so nice for the kids to have a new dog during all of this.
Oh….did you see the Sunday Night movie? We watched it. I wonder what movie they picked for this Sunday.
It is sunny up here, but not warm. It is freezing out there today!
Stay safe……
Adele -
Hey Sue
That is a very sweet story about your dog. The love of your family saved that dig. What a wonderful thing to do!!
Adele -
Hey Barbara
That was nice that you and Jerry got out for a ride to Costco. The ones up here are limiting people to 2 packages of meat. Even all the supermarkets are doing that. I am getting worried about chicken. We do not have as much chicken as I owuld like….LOL Or should I say, my gout likes….LOLI know we are both worried so much about our kids, and everyone. Just the thought of a tiny piece of bacteria that can make dramatic changes to all our lives is a scary thing. I try not to let my imagination run away with me. You have to hear Heather- she is way worst than me. I have to talk her off the ledge every day!
Tillie turns 94 this week. We are all so bummed becasue the kids can’t come over to celebrate. At 94, who knows if we get one more?? It would be awful if this were her last one. She has been very sad over all of this. She is worried sick about Bobby becasue he is in the airport half of his day. Then Jhonny delivering mail, and Enzo repairing garage doors. She has been getting very weepy.
That’s awful that your cell phones do not work at the house. I prefer talking on the land line, as it is just easier. I use the cell for texting and facetime more than anything else.
How have you been feeling??? How about Jerry? I hope you are both doing better!
Have you face timed Colin??
The sun is shining up here, but it is cold. Spring just does not want to come this year.
Hope you have a good night.
Adele -
Quiet day here today, very springlike and warm. I thought I heard on the national weather about cold and snow in the north this weekend. We have had so much rain so now lots of bugs. Almost jumped out of my skin today when a lizard ran across the patio behind one of the dog houses. You know what I thought it was. Colleen and I have enough creepy crawlers to deal with. I just love sitting on the patio and reading. Especially before the humidity gets here.
We did FaceTime Colin last week Adele. That was when he said for us to “come and get me and we will go,to your house” and then said you can’t because of the sickness. Just broke out hearts, but we promised we would come as soon as we can, and how much we miss him. And do we ever! Jerry swept one of his little hot wheel cars from under the futon yesterday and I broke down and cried. I know in comparison to all the things people are facing now, that we are so blessed, but gosh it’s hard. I hope you all can make Tillies day special and I’m sure you will. Mabey one of those calls on the computer where you’re all on at the same time. Can’t think of what that’s called. Joey dropped by for just a few and helped Jerry with the tiller. He came to the door and said mama, I miss you so much. I miss them too. I asked them what night they could eat dinner with us, and he said Friday if I felt like it. Gave him a choice of roast and veggies or lasagna, and he said roast sounds really good, so a one pan meal for us. Yahoo, win win get to visit and easy meal.
Sue, do you use a local food delivery service or Walmart or something like that? We live in a really small town so we have very little to chose from. Did your landlord get your repairs finished? Was just wondering hope so.
Hope everyone is well and has a good night, Barbara -
Hi Everybody,
It has been crazy around here. They came here to day to install the new furnace and air conditioner today. There were three of them and they were all really good and very polite. They got started and had to quit and wait for parts. They sat around in the back yard and waited for the parts to come. Then they got the furnace put in and had to wait the air. It was getting to be dinner time so I fixed dinner for them. They said that they did not want to be trouble but I told them I had to cook anyway. I had a bag of Corkys drummies so stuck them in the oven. I put french fries in the air fryer and that was dinner. They all ate a lot I figured they would they had been there day and most of the evening they had to be hungry. So now we have everything fixed and hopefully we will be fine for a long time.
Gail, The puppy is so cute. That is a cut name for her. It seems like Lucy and Luke are going to be friends they were laying close to each other. I love all the memes they always make me smile. We really need that. I am so disappointed the news was showing something cheerful everyday but now we have the death watch every morning every hour. Why can’t we talk about the survivors? We have a lot of them too.
Barbara, those stupid lizards can get into anywhere. We have had them get into the house. That is always a surprise when they get in. The grands use to bring them in the house with them when they were younger. Ron said that one of the girls did not shut the window and they had pulled the screen open too. So they were crawling in the window. If a snake ever gets in here I am gone. I guess everybody in the medical field is working as many hours as they can. I feel bad for them and I hope that they get time off when this is over. I think that Joey was talking about skype. We did that and now I forgot how to do that. I have to have it set up again. We need to go to Costco and pick up somethings. I am not sure when we will get there.
Adele, I like all of your yard ornaments. They are all so cute and will look good in the yard. That would be better if they had a few minutes in each broadcast if they gave names of the people that died from the obits instead of just giving statistics. At least show some feelings. That was a good idea to get those and the kids can buy them for you as a gift. We may have to do that here also. We may never see them to get what we want. It does make it easier for the kids. Mine never know what to get us.
Well that is about all from here. Have a great night.
Colleen -
Sue,
What a nice story about Inky. You guys took great care of him. I wish you could have a pet. It would be such great company for you-especially during this time.
Gail -
Ha! I finally found the Mother’s Day Card for pet Mom’s. I knew it was there someplace.
-
HI Colleen,
Do you like the air fryer? Do you use it a lot? And what kinds of things have you made in it? They always look so intriguing but I wonder if I would actually use one if I had it.
Glad you got the AC and heat put in. That is a big job but it will be good to know that you are now set for many years to come. It was nice of you to make dinner for everyone.
I am glad the memes are still making you smile. We need smiles and bright days.
I wonder if in the future the TV programs will ever have stories about this time. I’m sure authors will be writing about it. It seems like it would be easier to write books about it than to show it on TV. I hope when things settle down the doctor’s nurses and first responders get to take some long breaks. Also I hope workers in places like WalMart get some bonuses or something. Plus I hope mental health help is available for whoever may need it.
Too bad Luke’s name wasn’t Linus-then Jenny could have Lucy and Linus like in the Peanuts cartoon. I think they are getting along well and can play together and work off each other’s energy.
Gail -
Colleen,
I forgot to add memes to your post. -
Hi Barbara,
We are cold up here for this time of year. We have a polar vortex late in the year. I think Adele over on the east coast may be the one getting some snow-or maybe even Sue in Pennsylvania. They said possibly a flake here on Saturday or Sunday. Usually around Greg’s birthday is the last frost and his birthday is Saturday.
I bought some new landline phones last year and they are still sitting in the box. lol Don’t want to move on it too fast. This one has a blocker on it so you can block robocalls but I don’t know how good that will be as they just call from a different number then. You know the world will be bouncing back when the calls start coming in again. We like to have a landline too as you can’t count on cell phones out here. Although since we changed providers the reception seems to be better for our cell phones.
Unlike Jerry when I make out the WalMart grocery list I make sure there are some cookies and some cake on it. lol Especially now as it’s essential that we treat ourselves. lol
Gail -
Hi Adele,
Happy Birthday to Tillie. I hope she is getting some new Quacker finery.
I think we all have our weepy times. What we are living through we have no experience with-so every day we are learning something new. Plus we don’t have all of our usual diversions available to us so we have more time to think. I allow myself a little breakdown every now and then and then I shake myself and pull up my boot straps and say okay that’s done and list all of the things that I am grateful for. That’s about all a person can do. We are all strong and we will all do whatever we possibly can to walk through this and come out on the other side wiser and hopefully more appreciative for our lives and and our families and the blessings that we do have which are many.
You know what’s having a resurgence. Drive in movie theaters. Almost the perfect social distancing entertainment as long as you don’t need the bathroom.
Today I am appreciating the beautiful flowering tree that is blooming in our front yard. My only regret is that the flowers don’t last very long. But I will enjoy it while I can.
I didn’t know they had a Sunday night movie. What was it? We watch American Idol on Sunday nights so if it was something I wanted to see I would have to copy it.
Gail -
Hi Gail,
I wrote to you yesterday and got ready to send and the whole disappeared. I have no idea where it went but it was gone. So I gave up and thought I would try today.
I love my air fryer. We have one of the pieces that allow you to cook a whole chicken. We have done that and it was really good. We make fries, Corky’s chicken drummies, we have made a lot of other things in here my raviolis. Just about everything that I use to fry.
We will probably get sick of watching all the movies that they come out with about this time. We will not want to watch them because we lived thru them. Either that or we will watch get mad because they made such a mess of things when they tell the story. It will be interesting to see what happens.
That would be funny if their other dog was named Linus. That would be a cute idea. It is hard tto think up names for new dogs. We try not to name a new dog after an older dog that we have lost.
I had to go to the dentist this morning. I was surprised that I only have one tooth that needs work. I was surprised because I had gone to Apen dental and they said that just about all my teeth need work and I was going to have to get a partial. So when I went to this dentist I was surprised to hear what he had to say. I am glad that I went to a different dentist. I heard that you have to be careful with Aspen Dental.
Well that is about all from here. Have a great day.

We are expecting snow here & are under freeze warnings. What Spring??? My heat is still on. I still say we no longer have 4 seasons. We never have Spring or Fall.
My aches & pains are really making me hurt. I had a lot of trouble sleeping. I sure hope we get out of this cold wet weather soon. Even the weatherman said it is more like March weather & does not feel like Mother’s Day. Some places are offering take out meals for Mother’s Day, The Lion’s Club is offering turkey & all the trimmings,
Well the Northwestern part of PA goes to yellow tomorrow but there is trouble already. Places are saying I am opening now no matter what the Gov. says.
And they are getting away with it because there is not enough police to enforce. I do not know why people will not listen as it is for every ones safety. I just know we will have many more cases & will last much longer when people want what they want now. It seems like a lot of the ones not listening are young & think the older people are expendable. They think the people that die are older & don’t matter. Don’t they have parents or grandparents? I just don’t understand how some think they can do what they want no matter what.A young boy had a cute joke on GMA this morning. What do you call a bear with no teeth? A gummy bear.

Well I guess I got my answer. Trump can do as he pleases so everyone thinks they can too. They just said one of his valets tested positive. So now Trump & Pence are to be tested everyday since they won’t wear a mask. No wonder there are not enough tests for people that need them.
-
Hi Colleen,
The same thing has happened to me with the disappearing posts. The last two times the same time as that happened the site also signed me out at the exact same time. It was very weird.
We always give our dogs a different name too. We usually use people names but did have a dog named Shadow once. I have known people who would always get the same breed of dog and also name it the same thing every time.
Yes, I would beware of Aspen Dental too. Brent had issues with them too when he was getting extensive dental work done and ended up switching right in the middle of a bunch of procedures.
I have gone to the same dentist for years and years-or the same practice. When I first started there was one dentist there-then his business was sold to a different dentist when he retired-that dentist was my age and in fact we went to the same college at the same time and lived in the twin boys and girls dorm. I never met him back then though at least not that I remember. Now he has retired and the woman that shared the practice with him has taken over. I like going to a family practice like that where I have known the people for years and years. Speaking of that I have a teeth cleaning coming at the end of the month. I wonder if that will get cancelled or what the situation will be.
It will be interesting to watch as the country reopens. We plan on staying home and not going anywhere. I think even in states that are reopening they are telling the older people to stay home. You won’t have to tell us twice. I foresee us staying out of the public for a long time to come.
Gail -
Hi Sue,
I like the gummy bear joke.
Our heat is on too. Frost warnings for this weekend.
I know what you mean about people disregarding the rules that are supposed to be in place. I understand that people want to get back to work and support their families-but I am appalled at the number of people who refuse to wear the masks and to social distance. Those are not very difficult things to be requested to do for the greater good. So many people just appear to be very self centered. Greg and I agree that people seem to disregard the older generation and not worry about their health. I guess they figure we are old and expendable. Someday they will be older too and realize that just because a person is older their lives have value too. We are parents and grandparents and still contribute a lot to society and we still have hopes and dreams too and things that we want to do. We want to be around a long time for our kids and grands. We want to enjoy retirement and do things we couldn’t during our working years. Our lives have as much value as anyone else’s. It does hurt to feel marginalized.
Yes, it’s too bad our national leaders can’t set an example for the country.
It is nice that some places by you are offering carry outs for Mother’s Day. I have not seen anything around here but right now I am so out of the loop that I don’t know what’s happening anywhere around here.
Greg’s birthday is tomorrow and Sunday is Mother’s Day. We would usually go out to dinner for his birthday and take Jenny to brunch on Mother’s Day. None of those things will happen. So we will prepare some nice meals here and celebrate at home.
Gail -
Hey Barbara
Tillie had a nice day. Marissa snd baby stopped by and did the social distance. Tillie got to sing to the baby and at least got to see him in his car seat. She cried when she first saw them. They stayed in the entranceway and Tillie was more than six feet away
Later a Steph stoped by with Aizen. They stayed outside and Tillie was in the house. They talked through the door. Aizen chatted with me through the upstairs window. He looked so sad. His hair is so long…. lol. JJ stayed in the car. He did not want to go outside at all. I think because he is older he is more freaked out by all of this
It was nice to see Aizen in person. I told him how much I miss his staying here overnight
We will have the cake on Sunday. We are having brisket with potato salad Brussels sprouts and salad
I also love one pot dinners!! I hope your dinner with Joey and Lisa went well.
I would have cried to if I saw a toy of Aizen’s
Have a good night
Adele -
Ho Colleen
I do love those funky birds. I’m attaching a pic of my ducks got them from the aQ. They are Martha Stewart ones! I am so disappointed. Steph may try to paint them
Please read the post to Barbara for all the news……
Have a good night

Hey Gailster
We are getting snow. But not much. I think Due is too far dough for the snow. But she will get cold and rain…. yuck
Adele -
Happy Birthday Tillie!
-
Hey Gailster
Please read the post to Barbara for the updates of today
I know what you mean. Today’s weepy time was when Zi heard about the kids dying in an NY from the secondary covid disease. That scare the be-Jesus out of me!
We don’t have any drive ins around here
The movie last week was the first Indianna Jones. We got a kick out of watching it I think this week is Forest Gump.
Tillie had a good birthday The girls dropped off the gifts and saw her safely. She cried at both “ distance visits”. She was still happy to see their faces instead of on the phones.
How are Jenny’s kids doing?? How is The Piper handling all of this??
Hope you have a good night
Adele -
Hey all
Thank you for the birthday wishes for Tillie. She was very touched!!
Colleen… forgot to say U am so glad everything is done and working. That was so nice of you to make dinner for them. You are such a sweetie
DD
Where have you been
Sue
Same to you. Hope you are ok
Barbara
Hope you do not uncover any more of Colin’s toys. That would make me cry too!!
Hope all of you are goid
Adele -
Hey Sue
I thought you were too far south to get the snow. We are both getting blasted with cold weather. My neighbor took her potted plants inside today. She did a lot of gardening already. I have not
No Blue Bloods on tonight. The Blacklist is on. Do you watch that?? We like that show
We still have the heat on too. This is so weird. We will go from heat to air conditioning
I am like you. I wonder why people are so crazy and not listening. They just do not get it. They will not get it until a loved one dies. Then it is too late
Hope your night is good….. make a hot chocolate!!!
Adele -
Sue
Did you hear another White House staff person is positive??? I think it is Miller’s wife…. she is on Pence’s staff
It is just a matter of time before #45 gets it. He is not cautious at all and laughing in the face of the virus. The virus may have the last laugh with him.
I ask this….. what is wrong with people?????
Hope you have a good night. Stay warm and safe
Adele -
Thank you everyone for the well wishes for Tillie
I love those birthday things you all post. I am not too good at that stuff
I heard from Christine. She is still having trouble with her sister who wants to do things her way and exclude Christine. Burial is scheduled. So sad. That poor girl had had enough
Prayers sent
Adele -
Hi Ladies,
I;m fine. I just lost a long post so I’m gonna wait till tomorrow to write it out again. and hope I don’t forget what I wrote. We’re doing fine out here. I’m getting tired of being cooped up for days on end. I’ve been to the store a couple times this week. I have masks & when I first went out I took a solution of bleach & a rag with me just in case. It’s in a squirt bottle so if anyone gets too close they’ll regret it. lol
I’ll talk to ya later
dd -
Hi Gail,
I wonder what is going on that we are all losing our posts. DD wrote and said that she lost hers also. Maybe ther is just too many people on here right now who knows. That is weird that it signed you out. It did not sign me out just erased my message.
We did not know anyone that went to Aspen dental and I wish we did. We will never use them again and will tell everyone who asks about a dentist. It is not a good place.
Our dentist retired. He did not have a partner so we were kind of left on our own. We did have one dentist that he sent our records to but we did not like him so we have been looking for a new dentist for awhile. This guy we found is young and should be around for a long time. We liked all of his staff also.
I do not think that the dentists here are doing cleanings here. I think that all they do is fill teeth and work on them if you are in pain. It was weird when I went to the dentist. You have to wait out in your car and call them and let them you are there. They tell you if you can come right in or have to wait. I got to go right in and they took care of me right away. When I came out there wasn’t anyone in the office. When I got in my car a lady was walking up to the door. It is strange.
How are Jenny and the kids doing? I bet they are having a really good time with the new dog. They probably are spoiling him.
Well that is all from here. Have a great day
Colleen -
Hi Adele,
The ducks are really cute. You really decorate your yard and garden really cute. We do not put much of anything in the yard the dogs would get it. They like to chew on everything.
That was so nice that that the kids came to see Tillie. I know that she felt really good seeing them. It will be so nice when everyone can get together and not have to see each other at a distance. It will be nice to give the kids a big hug.
One pot dinners are the best ones to make. It sure saves on doing dishes. We have been eating off of paper plates so we can just throw them away. We have been eating a lot of lite meals because we are not doing that much. If we don’t we will look like plimps. I really do not want to do that. The hard thing is not to pig out on chocolate.
Do you ever make tv dinners? My mom use to make them and got me started. You just put your meat, potatoes and veggies in aluminum foil and bake it in the oven. Then everyone has their dinner and you can put their favorite veggie in each one. It tastes pretty good. The juice from the meat cooks into the veggies and gives them a good taste.
So you are going to get some of that snow. I hope that it does not amount to much. That will make the days dreary. We sure do not need any of that. Your meal that you are making for Tille sounds really good. She will enjoy that.
That is about all from here. Have a great day.

Have a Happy Mother’s Day ladies.
-
Hi Ladies,
Well, here I go again, trying to get a post written before it disappears on me again. I haven’t read all the posts yet so I’ll have to go back & catch up. Apparently, if you’re not on here for awhile you get the boot. I had to sign back in when I got back on here. That’s probably why I wasn’t getting your posts thru my email.
Colleen, a belated Happy Anniversary!! Sorry I missed it. Hopefully when this nightmare is over you’ll get to go out to a nice dinner or your family will have a nice party for you.
Gail, thank you for the funnies, they make me laugh out loud.I think I told you guys I found this goat farm on Instagram awhile back. Well they had a baby goat explosion from the end of March to mid April. OMG they are sooooooooooooo cute!!!! The lady that owns the farm posts videos of them & I have fallen head over heels. They all have names, & she knows all of em, of course. I have a hard time cause some of the markings confuse me. She told me they make wonderful pets & companions. You should see them swarm all over her when she sits down. Watching them gives me so much joy. they hop, jump & have a merry time in the pasture. I could watch videos like that for hrs on end.
I guess they breed them to adopt out or sell them for pack goats. I;m not sure what that means. If hunters use them to carry their gear when they go hunting in the fall & winter.
Snowball’s been a little twerp lately. She’s back to sleeping in the bathroom sink again. She gets me up at the crack of dawn, screaming her head off wanting to go down to Critt’s. He has a toy for his kitty that she loves to play with. Never mind she has one here just like it. She’s was really naughty when she broke one of my decorative plates. I didn’t even notice till I went to open the window & found it in bits & pieces on the floor. I don’t know when it happened cuz I didn’t hear it when it hit the floor.I heard about the snow & freezing cold weather you guys are having!! I couldn’t believe it. We get it in the mts sometimes in May but I’m talking 5,000 ft or higher. We could use a good storm or 2, we’re waaay behind on our rainfall for the yr. Not good for the fire danger. April was the 4th driest on record.
We had a taste of summer this weekend, but the rain is on the way. Showers more likely than a good soaking rain.
Have you been keeping up with the murder case in Georgia? I hope those men fry for what they did. And that DA should be brought up on obstruction of justice as well as anyone connected with those men. More & more details are coming out that the victim did nothing wrong.
I guess I better get off here before they erase my post again.
Stay safe, stay well.
Oregon is slowly opening up, but some people think they’re invinsible & want everything to open back
up like it was before. Our death toll hasn’t reached 200 souls yet, but I’m not sure what the total of cases we have. It’s alot lower than Wash.state & Ca. We’ve been able to keep the curve down so far.
I’ve been getting out a little here & there. sometimes my butt just can’t take it anymore.
the soaps are showing past episodes from yrs ago. some of the stars I don’t recognize anymore. lol
dd -
Sue,
Thanks for the Mother’s Day wishes. -
Hi DD,
Good to hear from you. It sounds like Oregon is doing a good job of keeping Covid 19 cases and deaths down. I wish I could say the same for Illinois.
Today the governor was on TV from home as someone in his office has now tested positive.
I am glad you are liking the memes. I’m trying to bring a smile to our lips as right now there is not a lot to smile about.
We even had a little snow here yesterday. Fortunately it didn’t stick but it’s still getting to be late in the year for that.
Goats are cute-especially the babies. We had a woman in our old subdivision that we all called the goat lady who had a bunch of goats. She was always calling me up and trying to give me a goat-or a kitten. Even though back then we always had two or three cats of our own. She was a character.
Yes two of the four remaining soaps are already out of new episodes. General Hospital is due to run out on May 21-I believe and Days of Our Lives will not run out until the fall because they shoot eight months in advance-so they are in the best shape.
I think TV programming in general is going to start looking like pretty slim pickings as who knows when shows will feel safe enough to shoot again. Some shows were not even able to shoot their full season. And we watch The Voice and American Idol and they have shortened their season.
We may be watching a lot of movies this summer. lol I have lots of stuff recorded on our DVR too.
Gail -
Hi Colleen,
Going to the dentist sounds like how they are scheduling vet visits. They come out to the car and take your dog and you wait for them in the parking lot. However, when Jenny had to put Callie to sleep they did let her come in with her then.
I wonder what it is like if you have to see a doctor. Probably the same way I would guess. I know they are trying to do as much as they can over the phone or with a Zoom conference. I know Greg did a check up with his cardiologist by phone last week. Hopefully he will be able to actually see her for his one year check in July.
Not too much going on here. I guess the biggest news in all of our lives now is a trip to the grocery store-and we don’t even go inside.
Gail -
Adele,
What happened to your poor ducks? Did they fade over the winter?
Well Saturday was Greg’s birthday and Sunday was Mother’s day so both kids called twice this weekend.
I’m hoping that the paperwork on the house will go forward and Brent can finally get moved.
Piper wanted to Facetime so she pressed the button on her Mom’s phone and Greg was down in the basement working on his guitar with music playing on his IPad and all of a sudden it rang like a phone. So we Face timed with Jenny and Piper. Lachlan was in the room but under a blanket. I think he wants to be around but doesn’t want to talk on the phone. I think he misses us in his own way. And Kendall just runs in and out and that’s about all we see of her. The new dog is working out well-she and Luke are buddies and play together. She is still young so she chews things.
It’s going to be a long summer for the kids with most of the summer things cancelled. I doubt the pool will open. I’ll bet they miss playing with their friends and having sleepovers too. They will surely always remember this time.
I have been slow on the uptake and have been dithering getting my summer decorations out. Maybe because it’s been so cold. So that will have to be my next project.
Gail -
Hope everyone had a good Mothers Day. I know everyone shows love and kindness to human and our fur babies and deserve a social distancing hug. I had a really good day. Our internet service went out Sat. morning and they came late this afternoon to fix. I didn’t realize how attached I am to the internet until it went away for a couple of days. I have been lost We couldn’t FaceTime with the boys and Colin yesterday because of it, but they all called. Joey and Lisa gave me a beautiful hanging flower basket for the patio, card from Colin and call from Bud. Surely wanted to see their faces, but enjoyed the sweet calls. Jerry grilled out, and that was really nice.
Love your lawn decorations Adele. I enjoy those too. My latest from the Q is a solar cat for the patio I think from Barbara King. I love her things. I also have her patriotic banner for the front porch that is strung across two posts. It is good heavy material. Hope Tillie enjoyed her Mother’s Day too. Please say hello for me.
Colleen, it was a while there that I couldn’t put yard things out sue to our puppies but they are a little older and doing better now. The bloodhound was especially mischievous. He is so lazy now and sleeps as much as Auto Kitty I think. DD your kitty and ours sound so much alike. When Joey and Lisa bring Ruby their dog up to visit, Auto just pesters her. I think sometimes he tries to get her in trouble. And Ruby never bothers him. Is your weather warm now? Ours is in the 50’s and 60’s. Glad you are able to get out some.
Love your memes Gail. They make me smile, and that’s always good. Thanks for putting them on for us. Was Brent able to get his house? Hope so. I would think this is a good time to buy a house with interest rates so low.
Hope you are doing better sleeping Sue and you aches are not as bad. That is just miserable. Do you have to use a heating pad? I do. I just can’t tolerate cold. My body aches so badly. I’ve always thought we would move to a warmer place, but now I don’t think so. But I do hope you are better.
Better go for now before I lose this. Goodnight all, Barbara -
Hey Gailster
Tell Greg Happy Birthday
So when was it? Tillies was Friday. Marissa stopped by in entryway with baby so Tillie could see them

Hi DD
A lot of tv shows are old ones. I hate the social distancing ones. But better than nothing
I think your kitty likes the sink because it is cold. She must like the coolness
Please read my other posts for all the crazy stuff up here
I hope you stay safe out there!! Even if your state opens up. I am not feeling like people will be safe when they go
I was horrified about that case. Those two deserve to be in jail for life. I feel so awful for that young man’s family. Awful
Luv ya

I forgot to say you know how
Much I love goats. LolGailster
My ducks lost their costing. All the paint came off. Mind you they are Martha Stewart and pricey. I called the Q and they told me I was beyond the return. Seriously? They are outdoor decorations. Nowhere did it say take them in during winter. I had Christmas bows for themI hope Brent can close on the house prayers sent
I think the kids are all scared. Even adults are. Heather went to the drive through at Cvs snd came home and had an awful anxiety attack
I just heard there is an unreleased Whit House report on the Midwest Cases are way higher than reported. #45 is going to do anything to make people think he got the virus under control. He does not care about anyone just his re-election
Peoples lives are at stake
So for today I am grateful for my arthritis dr. I have a video chat scheduled cause I got another gout attack. I swear it is stress
Sun shining up here!!!
Glad you got to video chat the kids. That is fun. Tillie loves it. Every time she is up here she tells me to get them in the phone. Marissa snd Amanda did a three way one with her. Steph can’t cause she does not have an I phone
Have a good day

Did I miss something? Are you ok? I don’t remember you saying you were not feeling good. It’s been so cold. Not good for the bones snd I swear every time we get a storm I get gout pain.Gailster
I keep forgetting to say Zi love the memes and DDs pics, and Sues jokes!Since I am off Facebook I am missing stuff. I just hated all the stupid comments
Barbara
So glad you got internet back
Don’t you love the facetime??
I always loved a house with a porch you can do so much nice decorating. Take a pic of yours do we can see it!!
Tillie had a good time Sunday but was also sad the kids were not here. They did their best for a visit. Amanda could not do the drive up here because of the poison ivy. It is bad. Getting better with the prednisone
It is sunny here today. Yahoo!!Sue
It will be warm by the weekend. Hold on my East Coast buddy!!!Love you guys
Adele -
Hi Barbara,
Glad you are enjoying the memes. I’m trying to make us smile a bit-even though there is not a lot to smile about.
I know what you mean about the internet. We really have become dependent on it for a lot of entertainment and for keeping in touch. Especially now. Plus Greg is working from home and is hooked up to his work computer. We had problems the other week and it would get better and then go back to being bad again and we couldn’t connect. After a million calls to Rise Broadband and hours spent on hold where they would tell you basically nothing Greg went to the basement and found a different modem and hooked that up and we are up and running again. Sometimes you just have to take matters into your own hands. lol
I had to chuckle when you talked about moving someplace warmer. I guess everything’s relative as I was thinking Memphis seems pretty warm to me already. Just for fun where did you think you might move for more warmth?
I think we all had a quiet Mother’s Day. I hope and pray by next year this time there is a vaccine and we can all get together with loved ones without fear.
Gail -
Hi Adele,
Greg’s birthday is the 9th-the day after Tillie. So they must both be Taurus’. I see she was dressed in Quacker Factory finery. Did you make that cake?
I didn’t even have to make a cake for Greg as a lady from work made him a key lime pie and they dropped it off over here.
We didn’t even feast this weekend. Saturday we had pizza and Sunday we had hamburgers. Just trying to keep it simple. I can’t remember the last time that we have eaten and cooked at home for this many days in a row. Not even any carry out. I am getting cooking fatigue-that’s a new side effect of the pandemic. lol I am not meaning to be flippant-just trying to lighten things up. I am forever grateful that our family and friends remain healthy and I will never take that for granted and I continue to offer prayers every day for the continued health of everyone.
Speaking of that I wish our fearless leader would just once say how sorry he is to the families who have lost loved ones. I have never heard him acknowledge that the dead are human beings with families not just numbers on a chart. He is just so desperate to be reelected that he has lost all humanity. I know he was putting his hopes for reelection on the strong economy and now that is gone so he is treading water. But I never feel he has the greater good of the American people as his main interest. I just shake my head and wonder what the rest of the world thinks of us. Okay-enough of this. One more thing. I have on the hearings right now and they are politicizing the pandemic-Democrats have one view and Republicans another-why can’t they get it into their heads that this is a people problem-not a party problem and work together for the greater good.
We had a snow shower on Sunday and had a fire in the fireplace. It was not a nice day weather wise. It was a good day for napping. lol
How did Amanda get poison ivy? Was she hiking?
Poor Aizen with the tic. I hate getting tics. One time I got one walking from the house to the mailbox. Go figure?
Did your poor little ducks fade over the winter? They are really cute. I hope Steph can fix them.
Gail -
Hey Gailster
I love the Golden Girls and puppy ones…LOL
So, you are living with a Taurus too. I am living with 2 of them- Bobby too….LOL
Ditto, ditto ditto for the hearings. If Ron Paul were my Senator, I would be moving to another state. I would be scared to death he would sell all the citizens down the river, to please #45. He better watch out that there will not be enough people alive in his state to get his butt re-elected.
Totally, totally agree. Not #45, nor any Republicans have spoken to the traumatic losses of the family members left behind form those poor souls who were victimized by this virus, and further victimized by their legislators. I would love them to put the pictures of all those lost every day, scrolling in the background of the news. Those numbers are human beings who did not deserve to die like that.
You know, I have recently said that I wonder if Al died form the virus. He had that awful cold, was sent from dialysis to the ER, and in one day was in ICU with a breathing machine, and died that night.
Amanda was weeding, and the weeds were not up far- they had to be poison ivy. She will need a lot of weed killer to do the rest, just to be sure.
The ducks were left out all winter, as there was no warning not to on the boxes or paperwork. All the paint is off them. I am hoping Steph will paint them for me….LOL
I did nto make the cake. I have nto been baking as much, as Heather is addicted to the Entenmanns mini cherry pies, which we have been buying by the case….LOL I am also getting real sick of all the cooking….we had pizza Saturday too- I made it. I screwed up the dough. the dough required Italian flour, and I had none as they are all out of it. I used the regular flour and the dough would nto come together. It clumped into balls. I threw it out, and used the crescent rolls, squished into the pan to form the dough. i did nto like the sweet taste with the pizza….LOL Oh well!
Hope your day is going well.

Adele I am okay. I just wrote I was hurting because of the weather & could not sleep. I don’t know when the weather will be normal. It is still very windy today. It is to warm up the end of the week but rain. I am sick of rain.
I have never before been ashamed to be from PA. People just don’t seem to grasp how serious this is. Several counties are defying the Gov. & opening anyway & law enforcement won’t enforce & if any citations are issued DA will not prosecute. The Gov was very angry & said he will not issue any funding to those counties & that businesses may lose their license or insurance. Insurance won’t cover when business open against shut down. My county did notify the Gov. that they want to open but said it won’t defy the order. My neighbor brought me a package of mine that was blowing around down the hill. I don’t know where it was all the time as I notified the company & they said it was delivered 4/30. It did not show any signs of being wet & it had rained several times during that time. Anyway we were talking & she thinks it is time to open & does not think it will get worse. I think if the push the opening it will spread more. The prez is not helping as he is also saying PA should open. Of course he wants to get votes. One person said the only people that are dying are old people in care facilities & they just go there to die anyway. Such disrespect for the elderly. This person thinks anyone else that gets it recovers.
For the most part it seemed everyone was following orders. I went for groceries today & everyone had on masks. They had people sitting at the doors to check & make sure. There are some shortages but the meat section was good so far but they were limiting the number of packages you could buy of certain things like hamburg & chicken. I bought 1 pack of hamburg & chicken breasts. I also bought a pkg of pork chops. I splurged and bought a steak. I got a pack of 4 hamburgers they make up at the store I like the bacon cheddar ones. I am going to have 1 for dinner & freeze the other 3. So I got a lot of meat for a lot of meals. My freezer is full. The only thing I did not see was whole chickens. You could not get anything from the deli & bakery unless they were pre packaged. The cases were empty. I also got a lot of produce. One thing that surprised me was the pasta aisle was empty.

Hi Everybody,
I am going crazy staying home. I am running out of things to do. It is so bad that I was happy to go to the dentist. I have to go again next Tuesday for a root canal. I am not dreading it as much as I should be. I just keep thinking that I will be out of the house for a couple of hours. I may start like going to the dentist.
The girls are going to come over if we can ever get a day that it is not raining and we can sit outside. I am ready. I just do not think the rain is ever going to stop.
Gail
Tell Greg that I said Happy Birthday! and Brent. I guess that I got this right. This is a good month for birthday. Kylie turns 21 this month. I hope your business is doing well. I love the meme with the banana bread. That would be interesting to have some one set that on the table to eat.I hope Brent gets his house. It is a shame that he was not in there now. He could have done a lot of remodeling. I hope you keep finding the memes to send they are so funny. I did feel sorry for the cat in the sleeper. He really looked unhappy.
Adele:
That was a good picture of Tille and her cake looks really good. She looked so happy. It did her good to see the kids. It was nice that their mom’s thought of it. That is terrible about ducks. They should stand behind their products or at least let you get in touch with the people from Martha Stewarts ware house. If they are going to be high priced they should stand behind their products. There are so many reports on the news that contradict each other. I have heard that they have made up the numbers of how many people have died in the states. That if you go to the hospital for anything if you are elderly the put a mask on you and call it covid 19. So what do we believe. We have to try and figure all of this out and hope that we get the right information. I will be so glad when we can get back to normal and live our lives.
Barbara:
I think it is pretty warm where you live now. Where would you go for warmer weather? My daughter loves living in TN. I think that is where they are going to move after he gets out of the service. They live in Knoxville now. She is not sure if she likes it as well as Cookeville. As soon as they moved everyone had to stay home and wear mask when they went to the store. The kids only were in school two days and had to stay home. So they did not have a chance to make friends. That was cute that Colin sent you a card. I am glad that your heard from your kids. Mine sent me a bouquet of flowers and a plant to put out in the garden. So that was a surprise when the woman came to the door to deliver the flowers. Ron grilled on Sunday also and bought the potato salad at a bbq place that we like to eat at. So there was no cooking for me.
DD:
Thank you for the anniversary wishes. We did have a nice day even though we stayed at home and were by ourselves. It was not what we thought it would be. Oh well that is life. It was a joke between me and my mom. I told her that she had to stick around to be at my 50th because I went to her’s. We use to laugh about it but as it worked out she could not be there. I really miss her. We have very few covid cases in the county that we live in. I am just tired of hearing the death watch and I think that they need to quit and start talking about survivors. That would be nice to help people to get out of their depressed moods.
Well that is about all from here. Have a great night and take care.

Hi Ladies,
Not much going on here, no surprize there. To all of you guys who are drowning in rain, PLEASE send it back here!!!! We’re waay behind in our water for the yr. actually we’re 9 inches behind. It’s been a very dry spring so far. we had a taste of summer last weekend, but it’s back to normal temp wise, but we need some good soaking storms like you’re getting.
I’m afraid this virus could explode this summer. And if states open too soon & spreads it, we may never recover. I know the voice of doom, but I know when they had the pandemic in 1918 they tried opening up too soon & it exploded again. We’re closing in on 100,000 deaths from this & the leader of this country could care less. A second round would be far far worse than it is now. I’m sorry to be Debbie Downer, but that’s what I think.
So far, our death rate is at 130, & 3200 verified cases of the virus. Almost daily the new cases go up but today no deaths reported.
Snowball is sitting here by my side, first time she’s ever done that. She’ll sit or lay by my feet or close to me, but never this close. She has got up on my chest a couple of times which is unusual too.
If you don’t hear from me for a few days, Jewell’s anniversary is this weekend. She’s been gone a whole yr. It doesn’t seem possible. I got several of my pics enlarged into 5x7s & 8x10s. I still miss her so much.
Gail, I love the funnies. Keep it up, it helps relieve the tension.
I’ve taken down all the Easter stuff & put it away, leaving bits & pieces of spring. I’m thinking of taking the rest of it down & start putting up my summer decor, mainly tropical things,as usual. Dollar Tree has lots of cute stuff for summer. Pretty towels, picnic ware, decor. Love it.
take care, stay safe, stay well.

That is one hell of a covid story. From your package blowing around the neighborhood to the heartless person who feels anyone in a nursing home is supposed to die anyway to your being able to get the groceries you neededWhat is wrong with people?? Don’t be ashamed as it is everywhere
I have a hint on produce. Both cauliflower and broccoli and green beans etc all freeze wonderfully. I clean them and put them in bags and freeze. Basically any veggie that is not too wet. Not good with tomato zucchini etc. Get the fresh veggies while you can and freeze them. They are not as readily available up here depending on the week. Meats are rashioned. Bobby was able to get two King Arthur flour bags and I was thrilled!
Junk food is is stock Macaroni has been out of stock fir a while. I think it is because it keeps so long and you can stretch meals with it
During Lent my Nonna used to cook spaghetti add ricotta and peas and it was done. It tasted real good. I still remember that. So you get protein and veggies with carbs I was young so I don’t remember exactly how she did it.
Those burgers sound real good. I’m still getting meats from BJs and McKinnons meat market through the delivery services. My friend tried to go there and it was an awful hassle and she did not get all she needed. This is so nuts
Please continue to stay safe. I wish we were close enough to help each other!!! I am so glad you have good neighbors who look out for you
Our heat it still on. Supposed to be warmer over weekend. I hope for you too
Love ya Sue

Hi Colleen
I heard there are a lot of false reports out there trying to make people think the virus is fake news. Trust me it is not. I just sent my 5th fruit basket to a dead customer or friend. All from covid.
I also heard the White House did not release a report for the Midwest letting people know the cases of covid are going through the roof in your areas. Mostly due to the meat packing places. So please be careful. It is very true and very scary as you have no idea who is a carrier. Now there is a new component that hits children and it is bad. Shows up with a rash and red eyes with bad stomach pain and sometimes a headache. Then it attacks their heart and can be fated if they are not immediately taken to a hospital. These are awful times we are living through. I hoe they get a vaccine quick
It is nice here tonight. Weather getting better for a change. I hope it stay this way
Stay safe and bored….. way better than sick!!
Luv ya
Adele -
Hi DD
I am right there with you. This is a very frightening virus. The new rice getting the small children brings chills up my back.Just continue to safe distance and wear a mask and gloves when you have to go out
I heard the White House is not releasing the reports on how many are dying in the Midwest. He is getting people to think they are ok and they are not. That is criminal
Love your pics. I say go to the Dollar store at dinner time when there are less people out and get some bright summer stuff. Or better yet order it to be delivered.
I hope you get some rain. You don’t need those fires to start up again! I wish I could send you some.
I can’t believe it has been a year your pretty kitty is gone and your new one is here to keep you company. They are both so pretty but have such different personalities
Hope you have a good night
Luv ya

Forgot to say we had about 132 deaths today. Yesterday we had less than 50 It was disappointing to see us go the other way today. It will be wonderful when we have none
Adele -
HI Ladies,
Adele, I sent a pic of Tom from a few yrs ago. Not Magnum era, but none the less a gorgeous pic. I’ll try to send it on here.
I haven’t heard the latest from you-know-who today. Probably a good thing. Do any of you watch “The View” in the morning? I love Whoopi. She says it like it is & doesn’t hold back. You should’ve seen her the day after he suggested injecting bleach or disinfectant to kill the virus. She all but came thru the camera!!! She was LIVID!!! Then he tried to poo-poo saying he was joking. You don’t joke about something like that.
It’s chilly here today, but I don’t want to turn on the heat at this point. I hope it warms up back there.
I cooked dinner for Critt & myself tonight. Pork chops, mashed potatoes w/ gravy, & asparagus.
Since it’s chilly I should bake some cookies, or brownies while I can. I went to the store to get milk today & they had full shelves today. Last Sat. all the shelves in the dairy case were empty of milk! I’ve never seen that before, even when they have it on sale. I did notice some of the shelves have been restocked. They had sugar, flour, etc, back. Meat is okay, but they limit you to two packs.
Well, I guess that’s all for tonight.
Please stay safe & well
dd
PS: Adele I couldn’t find the pic of Tom so I’ll have to look for it & send it next time. -
Hi Adele,
I know that the virus is real but I also know that there are rumor mongers out there also. As far as our state I think that they have been honest about how many have it and how many have died from it. We just live in an area that is not as heavily populated so naturally we do not have as many cases. Or it does not seem like it to a area that has a larger population. We do not know anyone that has had the virus but we know it is ou there. We wear masks andd have hand sanitizer in our cars and in my purse.
It is cold here still. We have had so much rain that it is driving me crazy. It will be so nice to see the sun. If we could just go outside and walk around without getting soaked.
I am tired of being bored. I have been sleeping a lot because I am running out of thing to do. I guess that I will go I am getting depressing Have a great night
Luv Ya
Colleen -
Hi Sue,
Yes, this country is really divided on when and how quickly we should open. We live about two miles from the Wisconsin border and now their Supreme Court has overturned their stay at home law so things are just going to open up willy nilly. I predict a mess there. We are stuck between Wisconsin turning into the wild wild west and being close enough to Chicago to be included in their zone for reopening which will be the last part of the state to reopen. I think even after things reopen we will be laying low for a long long time. I miss going out and doing things and seeing people but I would miss being alive a lot lot more. I realize that some of the more remote areas of the country don’t see any cases so they think they should open and maybe that’s okay for them but this is not a one size fits all situation. I read about a woman who has a relative who lives in an area that is open because it is remote and there are no cases but the problem is people are driving 2 and 3 hours to go there to shop and get haircuts and such and you know eventually someone will bring the virus to them from where ever they came from. We have a friend who lives in a remote area of Idaho and he says their life is no different than before. They are seeing family members-going out to restaurants etc. They have no feeling for what the rest of the country is like.
That is an awful remark about the people in the nursing homes. So many people have no respect for the elderly it’s so sad. Some day the people who say those kinds of things will be old themselves and I hope they remember and are appalled at the remarks their younger selves made.
I wonder where your mystery package had gotten to for all that time between April 30 and when you actually found it. You were lucky it wasn’t ruined.
The other thing that is in short supply right now are freezers. I guess when this started people bought them up like hot cakes and now they are hard to come by. I guess it was a blessing in disguise when ours broke a few months back and we had to get a new one then. It feels good right now to have that full freezer. We seem to have a shortage of both rice and pasta around here. Who ever knew that going to the grocery store would become like a treasure hunt to see if we can actually fill our list. Talk about the “new normal”. Which I feel is a silly expression as I don’t feel anything is normal at this point in time.
Good to hear from you and that you are safe.
Gail -
Hi DD,
Sounds like you and Critt had a nice dinner. Does he ever cook a dinner for you?
I don’t think we ever totally stop missing the pets we loved. I still miss our old pets-especially the last group of three dogs. I’m glad that you have Snowball now though-especially for company during the stay at home.
I love the picture of the colorful butterfly and the sea picture with the starfish.
I used to be a longtime devotee of The View from the very fist day that they were on. But about three years ago I found that I would watch it and it would make me so tense and really color my day in a negative way. It would make me so tense and even though I loved it for all those years I said to myself why am I still watching this if it is making me unhappy. So I stopped watching-I thought I would miss it terribly but I really haven’t and I have never looked back and find I don’t miss it at all. Funny because I was a fan for so long and I just cold turkied it. You know what I do think about though. We never see or hear anything from Barbara Walters anymore. She was such a ground breaker for women in journalism and now it’s like she’s dropped off the face of the earth. Her memory seemed to go in her latter years so it makes me wonder if she has dementia or something. I read the book about the View-I think it was Ladies Who Punch or something like that. It was interesting.
Stay safe.
Gail -
Hi Colleen,
You must be feeling bored if you are looking at a root canal as an excuse to get out of the house. lol Maybe that’s a good thing as you will look forward to it instead of dreading it. lol I have to admit I am never bored but maybe that’s because I’ve been home ever since the kids were born and just have learned to amuse myself at home. And when they started school I was home alone during the day and since they have grown up besides when my MIL lived here I have been home alone while Greg was at work-so I guess I am just used to it now. Sometimes there isn’t enough time in the day to do all that I want to do. I get on the computer, write emails, play games on my tablet, read a book, watch TV do laundry, if I get really desperate I do some cleaning. lol
I have taken up knitting and cross stitch again. And of course there are those never ending meals to plan and cook. Yuck! If it was just me I would eat popcorn and cookies for meals. lol Not very healthy but certainly easy.
Maybe you are not bored but just are missing social activities. Hopefully it will stop raining long enough to get that social distancing visit in with your daughters. We have rain today but are finally beginning to warm up a bit.
Thanks for the birthday wishes for Greg-He and Jenny have birthdays in May and Brent is the end of June. Jenny and Brent are the same age during May and June as her birthday is the first day of May and Brent’s is the last day of June. I used to love when they were little and people would ask me their ages during those two months and i would reply with the same age. They would get this baffled look in their faces like those two kids can’t be twins. Sometimes I would explain and sometimes I would just let them guess if I was feeling particularly naughty that day. lol Brent called last night and his closing is next week. I am keeping my fingers crossed that nothing else weird happens to cause more delays. We are so excited for him-it certainly has been a convoluted path to get there for him.
Stay safe-stay healthy. Give us a report on the root canal. Greg got so many of them from his previous doctor(who I think was a rip off artist) that he says they are a piece of cake.
Gail -
Hi Adele,
I am sick of cooking too. It’s not just the cooking-it’s trying to plan meals for 2 to 3 weeks so we can limit grocery store visits even though we use WalMart pickup. I am sill trying to think of all eventualities during that time period foodwise. I think I will be breaking down soon and ordering carry out or delivery.
What is Italian flour? I wonder what makes it different.
Numbers here are still going up. I think yesterday there was 192 dead in just a 24 hour period. I don’t even pay attention to the numbers that come out of Washington. I listen to the numbers from the governor. We are one of the few states with a total lock down still in place. He is playing it very conservatively. I would rather be overly cautious than open everything and have the numbers jump. Wisconsin just opened everything up and we are about two miles from their border. Although I have read that some of the individual counties are continuing to lock down but other places they show people drinking in bars.
This has put the whole country at odds. I realize some places that are more isolated are not heavily impacted and they don’t see the necessity of a lockdown and I understand that. Sometimes the few have to sacrifice for the good of the many. Everyone seems to be getting so selfish.
On a more positive note Greg sent me a Facebook post this morning from Todd who was Brent’s best friend growing up. He talks about sacrificing for the good of the many and how he misses going out and about too but how he would feel terrible if he knew he got a family member or a friend sick and how he is willing to sacrifice his individual wants and desires for the sake of keeping other’s safe. It was a touching post and it made me proud of him as we were very close when he was growing up-he would spend days at our house. It made my faith in the millennials renewed.
Personally even after restrictions are lifted I think it will be a long time before we are out and about to restaurants and entertainment venues. Probably the most we will do is go see Jenny and the kids. And I’m not even sure when we will be comfortable doing that.
This morning they were saying people were already booking cruises for August when the cruises open up. Not me!
My SIL already has a flight for Florida booked in October. I still wouldn’t be getting on a plane then unless it was absolutely necessary. I don’t understand why they don’t drive as they are retired and are able bodied and have the time to drive there.
We are going to get storms today and tonight but the weather is slowly warming.
I’ll bet a lot of families are going to be putting in above ground pools this summer as I imagine community pools will be closed. Jenny is getting her kids a trampoline for a surprise. SSShhhhh-they don’t know about it. lol Did you see the people who put a plexiglass window in their fence so their little boy could visit with the little boy next door with social distancing. it was so cute. They could play together just side by side through the glass rather than physically next to each other.
I am so glad we all have each other to talk to during this. Coming here each day has gotten really more special during this time.
Stay safe-stay healthy.

Hey Dd
I did finally get to open the pic of our favorite guy!! Loved it. Lol
Whoopi has been a favorite of mine forever. Even when she played in Ghost. Did you see that movie? She was hysterical the day of the ….. injecting poison to save yourself from a virus….. yeah that was real smart. I had to say that showed a new level of reasoning from #45 that we had not seen beforeIt was a real pretty day here today. Rain tonight and thunderstorms tomorrow afternoon. Yuck. The guy who did the roof can’t to do the adoring clean outside. He could not finish cause we need need mulch. Mulch guy cannot deliver before noon tomorrow. I just hope it can be finished in between the rain.
That was nice to make dinner for you and Critt. I am glad you two had fun. People need each other in times like this!
Have a good night
Adele -
Hey Colleen
I know what you mean. I have lost my sense of humor and positive glass half full feeling. Heather has had panic attacks mostly about the kids and school. She is scared to death one of them will get it. It is scarier up here. I have sent 3 fruit baskets and a floral arrangement to customers and friends who have died. Also sent out a lot of cards. We are up to at least 20 people we personally know or is a friend or relative of someone we know.It is still a challenge to get all you need at the grocery store. Tillie uses pare every day and only likes one I get through Walmart. They had a limit of 3 packages I could order. It took two weeks to get here!
I just hope a vaccination will be quick to develop so the kids will be safe
Do you have any meat packing plants near you? I feel so bad for the people who work there. It is as if they do not matter. They matter a lot and deserve the same protection as ER vworkers. All workers should be valued.
Sorry to rant. This gets me crazy when Zi see how many poor souls die every day. Up here even burying someone is an issue as they are overwhelmed with bodies. It took 10 days to bury my friend Phyllis. So sad
Hope I did not depress you more! On the good side. Sonny went to dr today. He is 16 lbs 13 oz and 26 inches long. Dr said he is very strong and the size of a 6 month old. Lol. I miss him so much
Have a good night. Today I am greatful for the beautiful day

Hey Gailster
That one about the hairdresser is funny. The old ladies saying where’s the beef was my Dad’s favorite commercial He lived that and laughed so hard every time he saw itI am the same. Thank God we have each other. We live in such different areas, I am amazed at the differences in deaths infections grocery availability etc
Our state has been good about most things. The Mayor in Boston cancelled all celebrations even the Boston Pops and fireworks for the 4th. He is afraid people will congregate and he is right. They are afraid of this new strain in the little guys and the virus coming back. You know they are right. But the alternative is so depressing. So is Tillie dying in a room by herself. Or Gary getting it with his asthma and heart and diabetes. I pray every night for all of us and our friends and relatives.
I hope nobody else I know gets sick or dies. I have been sending way to many cards fruit baskets etcGreat news on Brent and the house. I heard they are really tightening up on mortgages. I am so glad his is done and all approved. He deserves to be in the house he chose. Prayers sent!!!!
Have a good night. Hope you will not get any bad storms tonight. Saw something on the news a few minutes ago

Hi Gail,
The girls at the dentist office will probably stay away from me. Last time I talked their arm off. I had not been around anyone for such a long time it was nice to have someone to talk to. The dentist wont be worried he will have my mouth open and will have all his tools in my mouth so I won’t be able to talk. They may wire my mouth shut. lol
I have books to read and word search, dot to dot books and a tablet to play games on. I still get bored. I think I mostly miss the grands. I want them to come over and just spend the day outside. No one knows when this rain will stop. We are supposed to have more storms tonight. I want it to just be nice out day and night. I like to sit on the deck and look at the stars.
I hope everything goes well for Brent and he can get in his house soon. They did keep him waiting for a long time. It will be nice for him to buy a home of his own and not paying rent.
I did hear some good news on TV today. There was a man from Colorado to do construction work and he got the virus. Well he had to stay in the hospital for I cannot remember how long. Well he got well and got to go back home and all the nurses at the hospital sent him a memory book. It had their pictures in it and they each left him a message. He was rally touched by that because now he could be names with the faces. He did not see their faces the whole time he was there. It was really nice to see someone that lived thru that. It was interesting to hear about him never getting to see anyone. He could just hear them talk. It was just so nice that he got to go home and that the nurses though enough of him to send that book to him.
I will let you know if they wire my mouth shut or if I can still talk when I leave. lol
Have a great night.

Hi Adele,
These poor kids may never get to go back to school for a long time. They keep saying they will have to wait to start school. I guess that we will see in the fall.
We do not have any meat packing plants around us. They do have some places in St. Louis We do not have a lot of plants down here. There are just a couple of them and they are not in our town.
I know that you have lost some friends and people that you work with. That is really rough. I just thank God that we do not know of anyone it is hard to take.
Our hairdressers are working again here. I have not heard how they are doing it. I do not see how they can cut your hair or fix it if you have a face mask on. I can just imagine what your hair would look like with that mask on. They would have to cut around it. I cannot imagine what it would look like.
You have to read about the guy that was cured of corona virus. The story was on the news it was a happy one. It was just too long to write again. I wrote it in my post to Gail.
Well that is about all from here. Have a great night.
Colleen -
Hi Ladies,
I think I’m all caught up on reading the posts now. Well, it looks like 90% of Oregon is starting to open up tomorrow (Friday). The governor gave 31 counties the green light to go ahead & open up according to phase 1. If at any time it looks like there’s a spike in cases/deaths, she won’t hesitate to put the hammer down ( so to speak) & shut everything down again. I think the only 5 or 6 counties are still in lock down, the 3 most populated ones, where I live in one of them & a couple south of here & one or two in Eastern Oregon. So we’ll see how it goes. bars, restaurants, hair salons, barber shops, etc., will be opening up. No news on updates of new cases or deaths this week. I usually get notifications on my phone daily. I did get a memo from management today, about more security on site here. Hoooooray!!!
Starting tomorrow, they’re gonna more closely monitor access to the bldg. when the residents leave & come back we have to give our name & unit # to the security guard.
Apparently there’s been an influx of visitors to the bldg & they want to put an end to it because of the virus. It’s for our safety.
I don’t have anyone coming in, so it won’t bother me. It goes thru Aug. 1st.
I wonder what all those idiots will say if they end up on a ventilator in the hospital with the virus. Evil laugh. Esp. #45. Now he claims the death count is far less than reported. He’s deranged!!!
Well, I guess that’s all for tonight. Adele, I’m glad the pic of Tom FINALLY came thru for you. I thought I was losing my touch cuz I did it just like I always do. And what in the world is Italian flour? Never heard of it before. and don’t tell me it speaks Italian.
Please take care, stay safe & well.
dd -
Gail
Forgot to say Italian flour is a specialized flour blend from King Arthur They have a lot of different flour blends. I have at least six in my fridge as they are for different bread recipes -
Hey Colleen
It is awful to know people who have died. Every night on the news up here they feature a person who had survived the virus. That is do nice to see
I feel the same way. I miss the grands so much. The visits is what is missed. They would pop over and it was do nice to see them. We all miss the human contact
I just pray for a vaccine that is our only hope
The cooking is getting old too. Lol
I hope you have a good day. Also hope you did not get the storms I saw on the news. We are getting them tonight
Have a good day!
Adele -
Hi Adele,
I can imagine that that this is really hard on you with all the death’s. I have been praying for you to get thru this. I wish they would show more people that have survived. They should not forget the people that have died but we need to see that there are survivors.
I hope they have a vaccine soon. It will be nice but I worry about Gail. I wonder if she will be able to have this shot since she cannot get a flu shot. I just hope that people who can take it will and the ones who cannot will be okay.
We had storms last night and are supposed to storm again tonight. I hope that they are wrong. I do not mind the rain but I do not like storms. I am tired of cooking also I want someone else to cook and eat there so there is not mess to clean up and the food will not be cold by the time we get it home.
Well that is about all from here. I better go before I depress you. Have a great night.
Colleen -
Hi DD,
That is good that they have put a guard outside your building.I guess that people think that they can get by with this stuff. It is probably because there are not as many people on the streets now so they can get by with it.
I like all the beautiful pictures. Those are cute ones of Jewel. She was so playful and so is Snowball. You are lucky to have two really cute fur babies. It is funny that Snowball likes to lay in the sink.
I just pray that this virus is contained soon. Everyone is blaming everyone else for this . I think that we need to stop that and just find a cure or a vaccine. I want to be able to do things again and get out of the house.
Well that is all from here. Have a great night night.
Colleen -
Gail, what I meant when I said I would like to,live in a warmer area is really live in an area as warm as here but without all the awful, humidity we get here. I just love the changing of the seasons; especially summer into fall, with the beautiful leaves and the cool, crisp days and nights. But we have the thick oppressive heat during our summers, and it is so uncomfortable. Jerry puts our AC on and keeps it way too cold in here for me. I know the Fibro and the PVD keeping my feet so cold is the main reason I’m so miserable. Whenever we visit say Fla. I have just loved walking on the beach or sitting in a lawnchair with the ocean breeze blowing on me. But like you, I don’t think we will be going out even if they do open businesses up. I can see us staying home for some time now. It seems just too risky to us.
I am really getting tired of planning meals too. We have several frozen entree things and I ordered the chicken breasts and biscuits from the Q. Jerry makes us a salad and then we add whatever we think of or order pickup meals from town. We have a very limited number of restaurants to chose from and two pizza places(only one worth eating). We drove up to the ice cream drive through tonight and got us sundaes. I am just like you all, trying so hard to manage. I do find that I fall fast asleep sitting in my recliner earlier and earlier. I think it is boredom. I fell asleep at 7:30 last night, and Jerry woke me up at 9:30 for bed. Then I had trouble getting back to sleep. Jerry is asleep in his chair right now.
Hope you all are managing ok. Sue glad you retrieved your package. Colleen good luck with your dental appointment. Just talk away and say it’s the medicine they give you lol I need someone to talk to too!
DD love your pictures and glad they are providing extra security for you all. That’s great.
Adele, you hang in there. Hope your gout is better. I bet is was brought on by stress. Tillie is so pretty. She has less wrinkles than me. Tell her I am envious of her beautiful skin.
Goodnight everyone-stay safe! Hugs across the miles Barbara -
Hey Colleen…and everyone……
It is hard with finding out so many people are gone. They were old friends of Gary’s and customers. Some are the aunts and uncles of the kids’ friends, etc. One young man near Steph lost some of his foot due to the virus, and he is young!
I heard this am we may have a vaccination coming out soon form some place in Massachusetts. Would’t that be wonderful????
I got to see JJ for a second yesterday. Steph came over with him to work in the back yard. they were sanding the ducks and two bunnies to prep them for painting Well, it did not work out well at all. As they were sanding them, they were falling apart- big chunks of them coming off. She came up and told me there is no way they can be saved. I was real disappointed. I called the Q and gave the nice lady my story. Told her what happened, and that I even had a pic of them after the winter was over- all the finish had come off. Since the customer service person said it was beyond the 30 day policy, I told her we were going to refinish them ourselves, and then they fell apart. The nice lady said to send them all back, and they will give me a credit, minus the delivery charge. I told her they should not sell those anymore, and that given they were Martha Stewart, I was quite shocked. On Saturday it was bad aorund here. We were cleaning out the fridge, and i gave Gary the left over brisket to dispose of. He put it down the garbage disposal, and it caused a back up in the kitchen sink. Tried a few things- no go. Called my neighbor, who is a plumber, but he could nto clear it-it was way too far down. My neighbor is Bunny’s hubby the fireman….so I got a covid distancing visit from her….LOL She sat at the total end of the table, which is more than 6 feet. he felt awful and he was here for a while!
Had to call the drain guys, and with the weekend rate, plus I had him clean out Tillie’s sink that was getting slow, and the bathroom sink cause Heather has very long hair….409.00. It was 80.00 for each extra drain, and 80.00 extra charge for the weekend. Yeah, I was disgusted. I knew it would be that high, as it was over 300 the last time something happened. he said the clog was about 25 feet down. Gary had used hot water, but as the meat moved, it became solid with the fat. I would have thrown any fat into the garbage. Gary said he did not think it would cause a problem. At least the pipes are now all clear of any debris. LOL…have to laugh, or I would cry. You have to see my entry into the journal I got form the Q for Sat night….LOL
Has anyone seen the price of chicken?????? It was 2.50. BJ;s still has some for that price. Now,it is form 5.50 to 13.00 a pound up here. So, I got more chicken form BJ’s but did not order as much as I wanted. I ordered 6 lbs, and thought that would be 2 packages- it was one. So, yesterday I ordered 18 more lbs, thinking I would get 3 packages. I messaged the shopper I really wanted 3 packages, and she said she would try as they may limit her to 2. I saw she was able to get them from the receipt, but, when Heather and Gary brought it up, it was only one, and I got charged for 3. I could have screamed becasue Gary knew we ordered 3. I got in touch with Instacart and they were very nice. I got credit for the chicken that did nto come. I still gave the girl 5 stars because I think I know what happened, and said so to the Instacart people. I had asked her to package the chicken in a separate box, so there would nto be any contamination with the other groceries. I think she gave us the wrong chicken, as she handed that one to Heather. The price on that package did nto match to the ones I was billed for, and I bet someone else got 3 packages, instead of one, and kept them. How jaded am I???? I would have called to say I got thinks I did nto order, but a lot of people would not. I just hope it went to a family who needs it.Last night we watched a movie on Netflix. It was called “God’s Not Dead”. I loved it! It was both sad and happy. I did nto expect it to be what it was, especially in the end. I cried through a lot of it, but it was a very uplifting movie. You all should try to get it on your TV;s. You will love it!
Have a good day

Colleen
Forgot to say…did you ever think of eating it in the car, like the old fashioned places where you drove in, and got a tray on the car window, and ate your dinner there???? LOL Those maybe coming back!
Also glad you did nto get any damage from the storms.DD
I think it is good that they are checking to see if people live in your building. It would make me feel safe, especially now. I hope it continues for a while, so you will know nobody comes in who does not belong there.
Please read my post to Colleen and everyone- it has all the info in there of the day. Hope I do not bore you with it.
Thank you for the pic of our boyfriend….LOL
I love the pics you and Gail post. We need happy stuff.
See if you can watch that movie we saw last night. You would love it, I know you would….God’s Not Dead….
I have one more post to read- Barbara’s….off I go….
Our state is starting to slowly open…very slow, and that is good. I can’t believe next week is Memorial day. Something special should be done for all the people who died f
rom this virus.
Have a good day!

Have a good day. -
Hey Barbara!
I hate the humidity. It makes me feel sick, even if the temp with it is in the 60’s. I cannot tolerate the humidity at all. I wonder if it is the blood pressure that makes it so bad for me to deal with.
Here is an idea for meals. I always make more baked chicken that we will eat, because I take the left over chicken and do chicken salad later. I love a chicken salad sandwich with tomatoes in it, and sometimes lettuce too. I am also a huge fan of tuna sandwiches.
I recently found Gorton’s Fisherman’s haddock frozen fillets. they are delicious- cooked like they say to crisp the outside. You bake them on a metal sheet and turn them after 12 minutes. I ahve not found them since that one time we got them. I got them from BJ’s. I will keep looking to see when they are back in stock. Do you have Gortons frozen fish in your area? they are actually caught and packaged up here- in Gloucester.
The other night, I fired up zucchini with sun dried tomatoes. That tasted pretty good, and was quick. I have nto come up with any more new things…..LOL I am trying to be like Michael Simon- 5 in 5…..LOL
I am like you. I am not in any rush to go anywhere. I do want the kids to visit again, though, but safely. When JJ was here yesterday he stayed far away from me, and I wanted to hug him. He would not let me. I was proud of him for refusing a hug, even though it was killing me not to hug and kiss the stuffing out of him!!
How is Colin adjusting to the new home? His parents?? You??? It sucks.
Hope you have a good day,
Adele -
Hi Everyone,
DD I am glad they are watching more carefully who is coming in and out of your building. Good idea. I love the beach pictures.
Colleen, if you talk everyone’s ear off at the dentist office they will probably get you in and out fast. lol That’s true-the dentist won’t have to worry as he will have your mouth open and full of stuff. lol
I saw a story yesterday about a 99 year old man who was getting out of the hospital after having Covid 19. It was amazing! All the doctor’s and nurses were cheering for him. It made my heart glad to see that.
I never thought I would see a time where 90,000 people would die in this country in a 2 1/2 month period. Those numbers are just astounding.
Illinois is opening up very cautiously though too. The county we are in will be one of the last ones as it is in the same zone as Cook county where Chicago is. Although we heard today that the sheriff’s police in our county are no longer enforcing stay at home laws so who knows who will be opening before they are given the all clear.
I just know that because of our age and certain health conditions we will probably be staying home and social distancing for the foreseeable future. probably through the summer as most of the places we go to in the summer have large groups of people. Concerts, restaurants, festivals.
I have thought about being allergic to the flu shot and what that might mean but I will certainly try getting the vaccine when it comes out as it will be a totally different thing than the flu shot. I will check with my doctor but I’ll bet she will say it’s okay to try. Here’s an example-I take a medicine that has a few different generics I took one generic for many years with no problems and then for some reason they switched generics on me and the different generic gave me hives-so I just called and said can I be switched back to the one I was taking before and all was fine again. So sometimes it’s not the actual active ingredient that one is allergic too but the other things they put in there for binders or color or something else.
Barbara, my parents lived in Louisiana and my Mom lived in Florida so I know what that southern humidity is like. Sometimes the air feels so heavy that you can hardly breathe. I guess a warmer place without the humidity would be some of the desert states like Arizona or Nevada but they have some sizzling hot temperatures there. I always hear that San Diego has a pretty perfect climate.
Adele, So sorry about the garbage disposal fiasco. It’s always something isn’t it. I know Greg just had to order a part for the sump pump but fortunately he can do the work himself. I will have to look for those Gorton’s fish filets. I miss going out for fish fries around here. It makes me think of Jeanne Bice and how she used to talk about them when she lived in Wisconsin. Speaking of Wisconsin they opened up last week and there are pictures of people crowded into bars shoulder to shoulder. I wonder what will happen there. We are staying home and waiting to see what happens when places start to open up. I still see the death toll going up and up and don’t know how places can open but I guess America does need to get back to work-people have to feed their families. I think it will be mainly us older retired people who are still staying home in another month.
I am hearing positive things about the vaccine. I am hoping that by next year there will be one.
Who would have thought that something that we cannot even see could devastate the world like it has. I hope there will be pressure to stop those live food markets in China if that is where this all actually started.
I’m sorry that your ducks couldn’t be resurrected. Maybe you will find something else cute to replace them.
Here’s something you don’t see every day. the other morning Greg was looking on the deck and he says there’s a cat out there just laying on the railing that he never saw before. So I got up and looked and I said that animal has an awfully short tail for a cat so I went and looked from a different angle and it was Mr.Groundhog sunning himself on the deck railing. lol We watched him for awhile and then he must have seen us moving around so he got up and got down. We think he lives under the deck as he was digging holes and messing up our rock flower garden walls and also messed up our rock stairs one year.
I like the rest of you miss seeing the grands. They are going to forget what we look like. I wonder what will be in store for them next year for the school year. I think Kendall is already done for the year now and Lachlan and Piper probably have another week. Jenny has a double problem teaching the kids at home as they are in bilingual classes so half the work is in English and half in Spanish. It’s easier for Kendall and Lachlan as they have had more years of it but Piper is just in the beginning stages. Jenny says she’s tired of doing the first grade Spanish homework. lol Fortunately Ricky speaks Spanish so he can help.
One of Jenny’s good friends owns a bar here in town-I wonder how they are doing during this shut down.
I know my hair stylist has been doing things in her home and maybe even going to some people’s houses so she is probably doing okay. I really would like to get my hair done as it was my one little indulgence(besides jewelry) but I just don’t know when I will feel comfortable going back again. I didn’t even try to rebook my appointments as when she opens she will be so busy and I’ll let the other’s who just can’t wait go first. Then in July she’s going out to Montana-so I’m thinking maybe if I am comfortable I can go in August-maybe. I wouldn’t go if it would freak Greg out. In the meantime I am getting to see what my natural color looks like-guess what it’s gray!!!! surprise! lol I bought some root touch up and I will have to have Greg do that for me as I can’t see the back of my head. It’s a good thing my hair was longer right now as all I really have to cut is my bangs. It’s long enough to put in a ponytail. I’m trying to learn to french braid. It’s very tedious. All I can say is thank goodness for Amazon, the Q and WalMart grocery pickup.
Stay safe, stay healthy-I love you all.

Hi Gail,
It is so good to hear stories about survivors of covid 19. He is 99 so there is hope for us older folks also. I am so glad that they are telling their stories also.It has been just so depressing listening to this every morning.
I am going to try and not talk to the girls in the dentist office this time. It will be better if I just do not talk their arms off. I do like the way they are running the office there. You never see another patient the whole time you are in there.
I was kind of worried about they are going to handle this with people that cannot take the flu shot. I imagine that your doctor will keep am eye on you and make sure that you are doing okay.
I can understand people wanting to go back to work but I do not get all the people going to the beach. It was so crowded and they were almost shoulder to shoulder there. I think if they want to go to the beach they would keep their distance and not crowd in together. There is no sense to that
That is funny about the ground hog sunning on your deck. That would be a shock to find one there. That is terrible that he is digging up all your flowers under your deck. They really can make a mess of the yard and garden.
I am not sure what is going on with the kids with their schools. I think that Owen still has more time to go the kids down here are done for the year. I think the ones in TN are done also. I would not have the patience to home school my kids. It has to hard for Jenny since half their classes are in Spanish. She is lucky that Ricky can speak Spanish and can help Piper. I really feel bad for Jenny having to do this.
They did let the beauty shops open up here but am not sure how they are doing this. I am going to wait a little longer before I go back. I just need mine trimmed up a little not sure if I am going to put any color in it or not. Will have to wait and see.
Well that is about all from here. Have a great night.

Hi Adele,
I am glad that you got a hold of someone at QVC that is helping you out with those ducks. That is terrible that you cannot even paint them without them falling apart. You need to sand them or you cannot paint them. I guess that you cannot be sure of the Martha Stewart things. At least QVC is standing behind the product and doing the right thing.
Nothing is ever easy. We have been finding that out. We had our new furnace and air put in but it does not work. We have been calling them to come fix it and they say the part has not come in yet. It has been 2 weeks now and not a word. So Ron is going to track down the owner and have a talk with him I do not want to have to get a lawyer to handle this. We don’t any of us need this aggravation. I am glad that they got your plumbing fixed and you did not need to worry about that.
That is a high price to pay for chicken. I am glad that you got your money back on the packages of chicken that you did not receive. I hope you can get that chicken with your next order. I imagine that they cannot get the chicken back if they delivered it to the wrong people. I do hope that they called in and told them about the mistake.
It has been boring around here. W have not done much. My excitement for the week is going to the dentist tomorrow. I will actually get to see a bunch of masked people.
Have a great night.

HeyGailster
It seems God is keeping me busy with some sort of crisis every day. Why I don’t know. Lol
It is pretty up here today. Sun shining. Breeze blowing. Nature continues the birds are singing.
I would live to find ducks that will last. Now I’m afraid to buy any statues like that. I saw another metal bird on the Q to match the ones I have so I ordered him. I hope these metal ones last. The gnomes do ok out there. Lol
Anybody believe #45 takes hydroxychloricine??
I am the same way. We will be continuing to be very cautious due to our ages and health
Have a good day!

Gail
Forgot to say…. get a picking that groundhog!!!Colleen
Hope all goes well at the dentist. Don’t worry. You are such a sweetie I bet they will live to talk to you
Steph took pics of the chinks of pieces that crumbled off the ducks. I’m attaching a couple of them So aggravating that nothing is made with quality anymore
I can’t believe it is Memorial Day weekend
I think all the people who died from the virus deserve some special mention or ceremony on Memorial Day
Hope you have a good day
Adele -
Hi Colleen,
It sounds like the dentist’s office has lots of protections in place. I have a cleaning appointment next week. Haven’t heard about a cancellation yet-I would like to put it off a little longer.
Yes, people are really congregating too quickly. I saw pictures of Orlandp and they were shoulder to shoulder. And the beaches too. Plus if you are out and about that means you will have to use a bathroom at some point and who wants to use public rest rooms right now.
Did your pool make it through the winter okay? We just heard that the local pool is closed for the season which wasn’t a surprise but I feel bad for the kids. Now I’m sorry that we didn’t put the pool in a couple years ago when we were close to doing it-at least they could come here and swim.
You know as a grandparent usually you can jump in and help take care of the kids when help is needed. But now because of the virus we can’t even help out with the kids because it could put us in danger. I feel bad about that every day. Just when we could really help out-we can’t.
I will wait on the beauty shop too-even though I don’t really want to. lol It’s kind of interesting to see the real color of my hair. lol
I heard that they can’t use hair dryers because it would potentially blow the virus around if it was there. So that would mean that I couldn’t get my hair styled. Just colored and cut. Don’t know if it is like that everywhere-just heard it somewhere.
I heard this morning that Notre Dame university is opening to students in the fall. I also heard that applications to colleges from graduating high school seniors is way down. That makes sense. I think if I had a kid that age I would recommend them staying home for a year and maybe taking some online classes from a junior college that they can transfer. Gosh I would have been disappointed if that would have happened when I was that age as I looked forward to going off to college.
Hope your day goes well.

Hi Adele,
Those poor bunnies. I guess some things are not meant to be left out in the elements but it would be nice if there was a note in the packaging saying that. However, don’t we all leave our lawn decorations out all year long. I sure do. The only things I take in are the seasonal things.
I can’t believe it’s Memorial weekend end either. I thought it was next weekend. It always has fond memories for me. going to watch my dad marching in the parade. going to a picnic/barbecue in the park afterwards and playing on the equipment with my friends and it was the end of the school year and the start of summer vacation. Such good memories and much simpler times. It’s good to be a kid-too bad we can’t appreciate it at the time. Also wondering every year if my Dad would still be able to fit into his army uniform for the parade. lol That was an annual tradition. The squeezing into the uniform. Until it just couldn’t happen anymore and he became a fire trustee and rode the fire truck instead. lol
Yes, nature does continue. I did take a picture of the groundhog. I’ll see if I can get it on here.
Yes, I was shocked when I heard about 45 and the malaria pills. I guess when you are in power you can get people to bow to your will. Dangerous. Even though all the other doctors are warning against doing this. Tell those Mass. researchers to keep working on that vaccine. Yeah! I found a good corona post that I copied especially for you too. Hope I can find it.
Pretty soon the lilacs will bloom and after that the peonies and lily of the valley. My three favorite flowers.
Milk Days is always the first Saturday in June-it will seem so weird not having that. It’s rescheduled for October.
Have a wonderful day with absolutely no catastrophes. Sending good vibes.
Gail -
Adele, I thought you Red Sox fans would get a kick out of the above. lol
-
Here’s a few more funnies.
-
Hi Gail,
I ended up not going to the dentist. Well I drove over there but they were way behind and they had that person and two more in front of me so I rescheduled. It is just weird sitting in your car for a long period of time. People drive by and look at you like you are strange.
I cannot believe that people were shoulder to shoulder on the beach. That is crazy people would think that is safe. Even if you go to a restaurant they are spacing the tables so far apart so you will not have to worry. I do not know how they will work that with the waitresses or waiters. They are going to stand so far back that we cannot hear them or us them. It should be interesting.
I just want Aliza to come over and spend the night. She is always so full of energy. She always has something funny to say. I have seen the older kids Kylie and Brook they came by the other day. They usually come over one at a time.
It is hard not being able to help the kids out now. Every once in awhile I can help Brook out with things for the baby but only if she comes here to get the money.
That would not be worth going to the beauty shop if they cannot use the hair dryer. They would not be able to style anybodies hair. I guess that you could go and get you hair cut and that is about it. They could not put high lites or dyes in peoples hair because you have to sit under the dryer for it to dry or the color to set in. I cannot believe that is one of the rules. They might as well left the shops closed.
I noticed that my post from yesterday to you posted twice. That is strange it went from disappearing to posting twice. Well that is all from here. Have a good night.
Colleen -
Hi Colleen,
I hope that you did not have to drive far to get to the dentist. Yes if they get behind they will get a big pile up and they don’t want all those people waiting in the office. We just got emails from our dentist yesterday with the list of all the new rules.
I like the restaurants that are putting mannequins at some of the tables to enforce social distancing. A lot have printed paper throw away menus and are using the packets of ketchup and mustard and salt and pepper instead of having the containers on the table. It will be a whole different experience. However, I don’t think we will be going to a restaurant soon.
Greg is going golfing this Friday. This will be the first time this year. You can only go two at a time. Hopefully the weather will cooperate.
We have not seen the kids in person since the middle of March. Did Brook have the baby with her when you saw her.
I must say that’s the thing that makes me weepy is when I miss the kids.
When I was talking about the beauty shops I was talking about the blow dryers I don’t know about the sit down dryers. And I don’t even know what state that was in-it was just something I read. However when I get my color done I don’t have to sit under a dryer-even when I get my highlights-there are some formulas that they can use that don’t require the dryers. The kind she uses on me doesn’t need one. Which is good as I don’t like sitting under the dryer. lol
I think this weekend is going to be a mess with people crowding beaches and having big parties.
It’s interesting that drive in movies are making a resurgence. There is actually still one in our county that has never closed and I hear it is packed now. I remember going with my family as a kid and then going on dates in high school. What’s old is new again.
Gail -
ooops-I forgot the funnies again and I have such a huge collection now so I may as well use them.
-
Hi Gail,
We did not have to drive that far to the dentist. If it was farther away we probably would have stayed and got upset that we had to wait that long and I would have been crabby.
That is a good idea that they put the mannequins at tables. That way people cannot just sit at the table. I knew they would figure out away to make it safe to go out and eat. If they give people the chance they can come up with some good ideas that should work. I think that we will get thru this if they come up with a vaccine.
That should be fun for Greg. They say that golfing is one of the safest games that they can play. I do not think the way they are going to have baseball games will be fun to watch. They should just cancel it for the year and wait so they can play it right.
We talked to Aliza today on face time. She is so funny. She graduated from pre school for the year. She goes back next year. They had all the teachers standing out in the parking lot at a safe distance and the kids drove by in cars and their teachers would hand them their papers and some craft things to do while they are home. Aliza would not talk to her teacher I think it is because they had to have masks on and gloves. That probably made her look really different. So after her mom and Aliza talked about that she started singing songs to me. She loves to sing songs and they are different every time she sings them.
It seems like when I really start to miss the kids the girls have them face time me. It really makes it a little easier. Kaylee talked to me for a little while but her tablet went dead.
Opening the drive in movies was a good idea. You can bring all your own snacks and drinks and not have to go to the snack bar if you do not feel safe. I do not know what they will do about bathrooms. That will be an interesting challenge.
Well that is about all from here. Thanks for all the funnies. I have been showing Ron the jokes and he has gotten a laugh out of them also. Have a great night
Colleen -
Hi Adele,
I lost your e-mail on here. I thought that you had posted but could not find it back. Those bunnies are a mess. I cannot believe that they fell apart like that. They should have warned you about them being so delicate. They would not last five minutes out here. I am glad that they are taking them back and refunding your money. That is the right thing to do.
Maybe they will mention the people that have died from the virus. They may name them by name in each state it would be hard to do that at one place. There are just too many to name.
I did face time with the kids today. Aliza is funny. I wrote all of that in Gail post so if you want to read that there. It is just too much to rewrite. That is about all that has been going on around here. I guess that we will grill over the week-end and that is about it. Just for me and Ron.
Have a good night.
Colleen -
Hi Colleen,
I’m glad that you got to Facetime Aliza. That must have been a little scary seeing her teachers in masks and gloves. I remember those preschool graduations-they were funny and cute. Hopefully next year you all will be able to go to the school to see her ceremony. I think it’s nice that they do that for the little kids.
I think some of the restaurants depending on where you are can only serve outdoor seating. Every state and even region is different.
What is baseball doing-I haven’t heard the latest. I thought they were playing with no one in the stadium. But people will still be able to watch on TV I imagine so that would be a good thing. I think so many people want sports back that they would rather watch with an empty stadium than not have anything to watch at all. Plus I imagine the players want to play again. They did Nascar with no one in the stands and I’ll bet the fans watched. I know Greg will watch golf when it comes back even with no spectators. I kind of think it will be comforting to people to be able to watch again. Weird maybe with no spectators but the sports lovers probably don’t really care as long as they can watch and root for their teams.
The drive in movie that I saw on TV had a bathroom attendant that cleaned after every person. Yikes. And each bathroom was just a one seater.
I’m glad that you and Ron are enjoying the funnies. Smiling does fill the soul and lift the spirits.
Gail -
Sue,
I hope that you are doing well. We haven’t heard from you in a while and I was just thinking about you.

Just taking a break for now.

Omg Gail
Those are funny pics. I like the skunks the best
Amanda and Marissa were here it’s baby so Marissa could do her homework. Nobody got near me. I did hold baby once. Marissa’s FIL is digging up their yard with grave equipment cause the walkway is sinking and pipes underneath are exposed. They are re-doing the entire yard. The house is built into a hill. It is too noisy for baby and homework. Marissa is in summer classes at her college. All in line. They decided it made more sense for her to finish college and then go back to workIt was nice to see them and weird nobody hugged or kissed me.
Tillie had not been doing so well. She had been oversleeping and feeling very shaky. When she dies not feel good I let her sleep longer as why bother her. She has not come up for dinner all week. She didn’t eat eat we had last night because she said she could not chew the sirloin tips.
Heather is in middle of going home. Ananda moves back home so she will have someone there. Amanda’s boyfriend broke up with her, after she cleaned the house made it nice and did all the yard work…… which resulted in the poison ivy that was so bad she needed prednisone.
I pray she dies NOT go back with him this timeI hoe you are ok and Colleen too. We are all the flooding out there!!!

Gailster
I did get a kick out of that.No Neal Diamond up here for a while!!Hey. I was just as shocked about the bunnies. Especially when chunks of them started to fall off. We could not even refinish them to keep them out. That was even worst as they all became trash. Each one 7 ducks and 2 bunnies each cost about 40.00 each with shipping. That is way too much to lose I told them they should never sell anything like that again. Not in keeping with their quality

Hey DD
Where are you???! Are you ok????Sue
Are you ok too? Hope all is ok at your placeBarbara
Hope all is good at your place tooColleen
Please read my post to Gail for all the news
Amanda snd Marissa were here doing social distance homework and babysitting. The details are in the other email. They did not go downstairs to see Tillie at all. This table is very long so no contact was hadIt was pretty here today. I am worried about your neck of the woods. Are you all safe??? That flooding looks awful. I am praying for all of you
I hope you will be soon able to have a social distancing visit so you too can have at least a look at your grands’ faces We just have to remain as careful as possible. No touching cleaning any chair they sat in etc. we even open the door for them so no door handle touching either. They even bring their own food. How funny is that!
Hope you are ok and are not in a flood area
Sorry your dentist did not work out
Have a good night
Adele -
Hey Sue
Glad you are ok. Have a good and weird Memorial Day. It sure will be strange. No parades no fireworks. No bbq’s
But we are all alive and well and that is all that counts
Luv u

Hi Ladies,
I started a post a couple days ago & poof it disappeared!!! Oh was I unhappy!!! I’ll give it another try. So anyway, I’m fine. Mean as ever, but that’s nothing new. Nothing much going on out here. But we did have some excitement earlier this week. A judge from one of the Eastern Oregon counties ruled the governor’s lock down was ‘null & void’. A few hrs later the Oregon Supreme Court stepped in & over ruled him & put it on hold till further notice. Not sure when they’ll rule on it. This judge ruled in favor of some protesters who wanted to go to church, which is dangerous at this time. Don’t i realize it would spread the virus? Besides, they can worship God from home. He’s everywhere, not just certain bldgs. I think this opening up is dangerous!! I think this virus will EXPLODE like fireworks on the 4th of July!! As for 45 taking that medication is STUPID!! He has a God complex or something. He wants to be the hero of all of this, but I think it’ll backfire. The FDA says it doesn’t do anything for this virus, & the side effects are deadly from what I hear. He hasn’t got the brains God gave a rock!!!
By the way Oregon has had vote by mail for at least 2 decades if not more!! And we haven’t had any voter fraud to my knowledge. We just had our May primary & it was vote by mail. I wonder if he remembers the hanging chads in Florida back in the day!!!h
Did you catch the QF 2 hr show yesterday?
Our weather is rainy/showery this week. It’s supposed to be nice for the holiday, then even warmer into June.
Well. I better get off here before I lose this one too.
Have a great weekend, even if we’re at home.
Take care & stay safe.
dd -
I have NO clue what happened here!! My computer went berzerck!!!!
-
Hi Ladies,
I have no clue what happened. It’s so bizarre. I wrote a complaint about it so I’ll see if I get any response.
I’m okay otherwise. Bored to death. I hope you’re all safe & well. Oregon has 3800 cases & 150 deaths so far. We went 3 days without any recorded deaths last week.
I got some new tops from Denim & co. Two are patriotic shirts, & two striped ones that look like brush strokes. My freezer is full of meat from the Q. It should last me thru the summer into the fall. I have Mama Mancini’s meat balls with sauce, burgers, steaks.
It’s too bad those of you who want to get away from the humidity can’t move West. Any place west of the Rockies is the place to be. You’d laugh at us when we complain about our humidity when it’s 50% in the summer time. When we have high humidity it’s raining, but cooler temps. there are several states that are dry compared to back there. We have the Gulf of Alaska instead of the Gulf of Mexico.
Well, that’s all for now.
take care, & stay safe.
dd
PS: Have an uneventful Memorial Day weekend. Seems strange to say happy Memorial day weekend these days. -
What the hell happened. All the posts reprinted in a very weird way and all my pictures disappeared.
Gail -
Hi DD,
Wow that was so bizarre! I came on and all the posts looked different and all the pictures were gone and then I came back a few hours later and everything was back to normal. As Jenniefer Kirk used to say-the pixies must have been busy. lol I wish someone else would have seen what we are talking about. Now they will think we imagined it. lol
People have been so impatient during this whole thing and so worried about their individual rights. Sometimes we just have to dig in and do things for the greater good. Although I am tired of being told that we are all in this together. I know it already and they are just preaching to the choir in my case.
I had an appointment for a teeth cleaning and the dentists are just opening up. It was for this coming Tuesday. I struggled with if I should go right away when things will probably more stringent and everyone has been home for two months or should I put it off with a wait and see attitude. I rescheduled to August. I want to see how things go. I am normally on a three month schedule so this will still only put me at five months-and normally people go every six months so I should be okay.
Greg was going to golf this morning but then found out there was two other guys and it is only supposed to be twosomes so he bowed out. I think he is still a little afraid to go out too. And he didn’t want to break the rules although I’ll bet there have been threesomes and foursomes. Who’s going to really stop them. But it’s hard now to think about going out amongst other people when it has just been the two of us for two and a half months. It makes me wonder when we will ever feel safe again. Right now home is safe.
It sounds like you are prepared for summer. I have gotten some food from the Q to stock the freezer also.
I think the reason the Pres doesn’t want mail in voting is because he wants to make it so the voters have to come in and he thinks that way there will be less votes which he feels will be a win for him. I think he will get more and more desperate as time goes by. He would love to have a vaccine tomorrow and that way he could be declared a hero. He is the weakest president I have ever seen. Even though I didn’t want him when he first got elected I figured well we got him I may as well give him a chance. But watching what has happened during his tenure has been disgraceful. And the last straw has been the pandemic. If ever we needed strong leadership it was now and he has failed miserably. Oh well enough of this.
I agree with you. We can worship God anywhere. And until this pandemic isn’t a threat people will be safer worshiping from home. I know they miss the fellowship of the church but why take a chance with people’s lives? Would God really want you to do that?
It will be a quiet weekend but at least we are all alive and well and have a roof over our heads. We have many things to be grateful for. I think we are all in mourning for the way things used to be. Change is hard-but we are up to the task.
Gail -
Hi Adele,
That does make sense for Marissa to get the schooling over with now. Thank goodness that they can afford to do it that way. I’ll bet you’re proud of her for wanting to go into nursing. Especially after seeing what they are going through now. And also a little frightened for her. Actually in the hospital nurses are the lifeblood-usually the doctors dash in and out and the nurses are the ones who provide all the care.
When I was in high school my Mom had uterine cancer. She went through xray and radiation treatments and then had a hysterectomy. Thank goodness she was a success story. But she once said that she didn’t think the doctor who took care of her would ever even recognize her if she was walking down the street unless her dress blew up. lol I always remembered that. I guess she felt he didn’t see her as a person only as a body part. However, he did do a great job even though he didn’t have much of a bedside manner as she lived many years after that.
I hope Tillie will be feeling better soon. Do you think she is overwhelmed by everything that is going on?
I’m glad that Amanda and Heather will be moving back together. Amanda should have put some of that poison ivy in the exes bed. lol
I’m trying to send something over to Jenny’s house every couple of weeks to help keep the kids occupied.
Last week I sent these stickers that you make with the little beads and then you can stick them on things. Next week they have books where instead of paint by number you sticker by number. I thought it would be less messy than paints. And then I bought from Etsy a yard Yahtzee game with giant dice. That might take awhile to get there as it is hand made and he emailed me and said that they were slow to get some of their material due to covid 19. But it will get there eventually. The whole family can get outdoors and play that one.
So I’m always on the lookout for cute things that the kids can do.
It’s kind of cloudy today. I think we are supposed to have showers off and on all weekend but it will be warm so I can get the Quacker patriotic tees out.
Gail -
Hi Ladies,
Well, I found out what happened last night with my post. I contacted the website & told them what happened & they got back to me this morning. Tiago said all those post were copied & pasted to my post. I have no idea how that happened, but he deleted all of it & restored my post as I wrote it. I’m sorry if it took out anything important. I hope it never happens again. I hope that explains it.
I’ll talk more later on.
dd -
Hey DD,
That was weird looking -but I don’t think anyone saw it but you and me and it’s hard to explain what it looked like.
Here’s the weird thing about that explanation-you can’t copy and paste on here. Believe me I’ve tried so how you did it is a mystery. You must be magic.
lol
Gail -
Hi Gail,
I noticed that mess the other day. I was going to answer your post but could not fine it and cannot find it now either. I guess when they fixed it they got rid of your post to me. I cannot believe that happened. It goes from one extreme to another. It is funny that it happened. You could just keep scrolling and scrolling and it just did not end. It would be interesting to find out how DD did that.
I am getting really bored I am watching Storage Wars and not just one I watched all day today. Now you have to be bored to do that. I am reading a book also. I have to rest my eyes from reading and doing things on the computer. My eyes burn so will wait until they rest from doing this stuff for awhile.
I got to see Grayson the other day. They came to our house to see what we had for them. They are moving into their house in a week or two so they need furniture. I wish they would have decided to move before we got rid of all mom’s stuff. Oh well that is how it goes.
Grayson is such a happy baby. He just smiles and jabbers. He makes all these noises like he is trying to talk to us. He is rolling over and getting on his knees. It is funny he can get his knees up but the rest of his body does not want to go with him. He is really getting chubby. I figure he will start growing again soon. All he can do is get longer I hope not wider. lol He cannot go to the doctor because of the covid and that bothers me. He should have started his series of shots.
I wonder If Adele’s great has had his shots yet.. I am afraid these little guys are going to have a lot of shots together. It will be interesting to see how they are going to handle yhis.
I hope your grand kids are doing well. Have you got to face time them? That makes my day when I get to face time the kids. Well that is about all from here have a great night.
Colleen -
Hi DD,
It would be interesting to find out how you pasted that. It is hard to do very much on this site. I like the pictures that you posted. The water is so calming to look at. I always like the picture of old houses. Snowball is such a cute cat. I always like to see pictures of her.
They were having some good prices on clothes for awhile. I think that quacker things are going up again. I like that denim and co. are really good clothes. I bought a sweater for my granddaughter for Christmas. I am tying to get some things so I do not have so much shopping at Christmas.
There is not a lot going on around here. It is really hot here. We went from one extreme to another. I just wish that they would get this new system we had installed working. They are still waiting for a circuit board for the dumb thing.
Well that is about all from here. Have a great night.
Colleen -
HI Colleen,
I’m glad you saw what happened to the site too. It was very weird looking. lol
So you did a binge watch day of Storage Wars. I think a lot of people are binge watching now. Brent originally turned us on to that show. It is an interesting cast of characters that’s for sure. There haven’t been any new ones for awhile though so I guess maybe they are not filming anymore. We always liked Barry-he was an interesting fellow. It seemed like he must have had some money to begin with. I should look him up and learn more about him. And of course Dave is sort of the villain with his Yuuuuuup! Greg and I always thought Ivy had a secret crush on Mary. lol I guess we just made up stories in our own heads to go along with the program. lol
Thank goodness for TV and movies during this lockdown.
Grayson sounds so cute. So who is moving? Mandy and the girls? I know I am nosy-I said the same thing to Adele. lol I also asked her about the shots and visits for the babies but I guess she forgot that I asked. I was wondering about the doctor’s visits for the babies as it seems like you take them in a lot the first few months. So they have delayed them it sounds like. It’s so weird I never remember a time when you couldn’t go to the doctor. I was saying you definitely want to try and stay healthy right now because you don’t want to have to go in a doctor’s office.
I have these patches that I sometimes get on my legs that I go to the dermatologist for and I had a flare up of them this past winter and would like to go to the derm and get some cream because they really itch sometimes but I have just sort of had to live with it the last couple months. fortunately they will go away on their own but it takes a long time. It’s called granuloma annulare. Fancy sounding name for an annoying problem. I’m surprised I can remember the name but it’s so weird it’s hard to forget. Good thing I took Latin in High School as it sounds like a Latin name. Anyone else take Latin? More likely those that went to Catholic school. I’m just rambling now. That’s what happens when you are shut up with your husband for 2 and a half months. lol
I did talk to Piper on the phone yesterday when Jenny called to tell us there was a tornado warning. I don’t need an alert on my phone or to watch the news I have Jenny. It was for our county but it was actually south of where we live but they include the whole county in the warning. There were warnings all around us yesterday. I had been up really early in the morning so I wanted to nap but all the warnings put an end to that.
We will be getting rain on and off the next several days. But it’s supposed to be in the 80’s-I’ll believe it when I see it.
I hope you get the air working soon-you will need it. I suppose the part could be delayed because of the long weekend-or because or covid19 too. I hope it gets here soon as you will need it.
We will be barbecuing something. I’ve not quite decided what it will be yet.
Gail -
Hi Ladies,
I have no idea what I did that day I copied & pasted. I’ve never done it before so it must’ve been an accident or something. I’m not good at doing stuff like that on the computer. Some people are good at it but not me!! If I ever figure it out I’ll let ya know. I just hope I never do it again. And I apologize again for the confusion. I was just as confused!!!
We had a lovely day today but Memorial day looks like some showers will pass thru. But come Wed.-Friday we’re gonna be in the upper 80s for a taste of summer.
Well, I guess that’s all for tonight. Have a great holiday.
Stay safe & well
dd -
Adele,
mark your calendar for this Wed. night 8PM GAME ON! on CBS. Your fave football player goes up against Venus Williams. Gronk vs Venus.
that should be interesting.
dd -
Hi Gail,
We had never watched it before. Ron is worried that I am going to get hooked on that show now. What else are we going to watch. They have not been showing pickers that much here lately. We are never sure when they are going to be on they keep moving it to different time and day. It will be fun when they can put the new season on. I read that they are going to show the Mask Singer next season. I was glad to read that.
I like that Barry also. He is just a really nice guy. Dave makes a good villain on that show. I like that young couple. Just wish the woman would not be so crabby. Just watching some of these people it would make you want to stay away from the Storage Wars. It would not be fun to watch them act like kids.
Well we had a good day today. We got to see Aliza and Owen today. We sat outside the whole time they were here. It was just fun to see them all. Aliza and I went for a walk out to the trash barrel and Aliza was excited because we went for a walk. She didn’t hold my hand she just walked along side of me.I think that her and Owen were really glad to see us. Owen was showing me how to play a game on his tablet and let me see how he was playing. It was just so much fun watching them play. Grayson was here also. He was his happy self.
I took Latin also. I went to a Catholic high school for a year then went to public high school. I was glad to move to a different school. That is really good that you can remember Latin. I cannot remember any of it. I think that I just blocked out because it was a useless language. I took Spanish and did a lot better in that class and still remember some of it. Not a lot but some.
We had a hard rain here this evening. It cooled down a bit and then when the rain stopped the humidity went back up again. I do not if they had any storms around here we did not hear the news tonight.
Well that is about all from here. Have a great night.
Colleen -
Hi Adele,
You do not have to apologize for anything. That stuff happens. I do not know how to cut and paste either. I am not that good at doing anything on the computer. I wish that I could get one of the kids to come over and help me to do all this stuff. It would give my grand daughter extra money if she would take it.
When things like that happen it makes life interesting. It gave us something to think about. We have not been able to figure out what is happening to post that disappear on here.
It is supposed to rain here tomorrow too. I hope that they are wrong and we have a nice day. It would be nice to grill tomorrow and just relax all day. Maybe you and Critt can eat together tomorrow. That would be nice.
Well that is about all from here. Have a great night.

Hey DD
Sorry I have not been on. We have been dealing with an awful loss. Stephs best friend’s mother died of a massive heart attack. She was only 52. She went to dr for chest pains and they did an ekg and she was fine. About a week later she died. She died on my Dad’s birthday. She sent her daughter to work in her car cause she did not feel good ( she usually drives her) and her husband found her blue in the bathroom. It was awful. Her burial is tomorrow. Heather is bringing Aizen here as nobody wants him to go to the burialWe are opening gradually. Tomorrow you can get a haircut. Get your dog groomed go to church. Go to a dr or lab. That is about it. I think. I am worried about it cause people are stupid. A lot of people want the governor to roll back the opening even more
I am with you DD. I feel the same way about everything!!! I hope you are safe.
Did you watch Titanic last night? I like that they brought back the Sunday Night Movies
Hope you had a good Memorial Day. It was weird for sure!
Adele
Please say a prayer for Samantha’s family. They are devastated. She (Lisa) was like a mother to Steph -

Did you watch Titanic last night? I like that they brought back the Sunday Night Movies
Hope you had a good Memorial Day. It was weird for sure!
Adele
Please say a prayer for Samantha’s family. They are devastated. She (Lisa) was like a mother to Steph -
Hey Gailster
I did see the weird postings. Then I clicked on the next one from DD and they were back to normal. What the hell was that all about????
Lease read the post to DD for all the info
I totally agree. #45 died not even deserve to be called by name. What an embarrassment I am continually shocked by the level of doo doo that comes out of his mouth. I pray people do not listen to him and take that drug. He just does not get it that his words have consequences.I feel the same way. As time goes on he is going to become more desperate. His actions will become even more satanical.
I am glad Greg changed his mind on the golfing. Good for him for being so careful
Hope all is good at your place!! The weather looks awful in the Midwest. I hoe Colleen is ok too
Have a good one. Hope your Memorial Day was as good as it could be
Adele -
Hey Gailster
I am proud of Marissa for trying to finish. I am also scared to death of her being a nurse right now!!
The last thing I sent to the boys was a dart set that had magnetic darts. I figured that would keep them busy indoors for a while
I know!!! I wish Amanda had given him a taste of the poison ivy too
Here is a funny. She had not gone back to get her clothes and is wearing her mother’s bras and clothes. That’s real funny cause Heather says she dies not have enough clothes for two people to wear. Lol
Hope your day went well
Adele -
Hey DD
Glad they figured it out and got it all back.Computers are weird!
Adele -
Colleen
Yes, Donny has been getting his shots and seeing the doctor. The dr takes all kinds of precautions to give baby his shots. I hope your baby can get his soon!!!!
Adele -
Hey Colleen and Gail
Yes I forgot about the dr for baby. Lol
I also forgot to tell you about Cape Cod. I actually remembered that when I was doing my prayers and was up to my prayers for my Quacker buddies. Lol
I have been to the Cape many times. Sometimes when a teen and as an adult even a wedding down there!! Actually two weddings. I have never been to Martha’s Vineyard. The Cape is a quaint coastal place with small shops great food snd way way way too much traffic
Adele -
Don’t worry DD. I do some really weird things with my computer and end up asking the kids to help
Adele -
Hey DD
I saw that advertised. My Gronky!!!!
I am upset with his wanting to go to Florida!!! Seriously????
Adele -
Hey Colleen
Well I think you meant to write that one to DD and not me. Lol
I am glad you got to at least see the kids face to distant face!!! It is good to see them even if they won’t get close enough for a hug. We can hug them later when it is safe. I’m not sure anything will ever be the same again.
That was good to start Christmas shopping. Getting a head start is great and you get better prices too
I hoe you had a good Memorial Day
How did the move go? I hoe they are all safe and sound in their new place
Have a good night
Adele -
Hi DD,
You don’t have to apologize. Any of us could have done that-even though no one knows how it was done. lol
Thank you for the Memorial Day pictures. I couldn’t find the ones that I had saved to post as I have all the Covid memes in my photos and sometimes stuff just gets lost.Gail
-
Hi Colleen,
I’m so glad you got to see the kids. I don’t know when that will happen for us.
I didn’t realize that you were new to Storage Wars-I guess I just figured since you watched the pickers that you had also seen Storage Wars. There’s quite a few of them so they should keep you busy for awhile. I think Brent introduced us to the Pickers, Storage Wars and Pawn Stars. I imagine the American Pickers had to stop filming during the shut down so it might be awhile until there are new shows.
AGT starts tonight and World of Dance too. I have no idea what they will do as they get later in the season as they probably started before a stay at home was in place. We’ll watch and see.
I actually liked Latin and got good grades in it. We had a Latin Club and had a toga party every year (not like Animal House lol) where the first year Latin students had to wait on the second year students and we all dressed like ancient Romans. It was fun-my brother and sister took Latin too.
Did you want to change from Catholic to public school or did you have to because of a move or something? Was the Catholic school all girls? Greg went to an all boys Catholic high school. We only had one Catholic high school within the county and it was several towns over from where we lived. I had a scholarship to go there but I didn’t want to. They had just opened a new public high school in our town and I wanted to go there which I did.
Only a few kids from our eighth grade class went to the Catholic High School.
Gail -
HI Adele,
I’m sorry to hear about Steph’s friend’s mother. I will say a prayer. You wonder if it had not been for Covid if they would have sent her for a stress test. I was just thinking this because when I went in with chest pains several years ago even though the EKG showed i was okay they sent me for s stress test to be on the safe side.
It was a weird holiday as it felt like any other day. We have a town about a half hour from here in Wisconsin which is kind of a tourist town and is on a lake. Well it was on the news this weekend as one of the places where there were huge crowds and no masks or social distancing. Saw a guy saying yah-as soon as we heard that Wisconsin was open we came from Chicago to here. So now they are going to be dragging this disease back and forth across state lines from places like Chicago that has a lot to Wisconsin that doesn’t have as much. And we are stuck right between both places. Wisconsin is like the wild wild west though-once they opened there were no rules.
Of curse our fearless leader wants to have a big convention in July with people packed shoulder to shoulder. Some people just don’t use the good sense that God gave them. No wonder the whole country is at odds about opening back up. We have no leadership. I just read this morning that some people think Covid 19 is a conspiracy to make us all wear masks. For what purpose they don’t say. Some times I just shake my head in wonder.
Greg just told me that he got an email saying the place where we get our best in the world sweet corn is closing down. I know it’s not a lot in the big scheme of things but I am heart broken. I was so looking forward to the veggies from our garden along with their sweet corn this summer. That was going to be one of the high lights of our summer since there’s so little else that we can do.
Greg says he got an email from the guy he usually plays with that golf leagues are starting but he doesn’t want to go. He doesn’t know what sort of safety rules will be in place. Golf would probably be one of the safest things that you can do but I told him if he didn’t feel comfortable he shouldn’t do it.
The thing that’s so scary is that anybody could be carrying it and you would never know. It’s like now everyone has cooties and we want to stay away from them.
Thanks for the info on the Cape-it sounds like a tourist town much like lake Geneva Wisconsin in our area.
The place where we go to see concerts in the summer is opening. Temperature checks on the way in about half the capacity for social distancing wearing masks etc. They are being very careful but i still don’t think we will go as half the fun is going out to dinner before hand and mingling with the the other attendees and striking up conversations. However, they are going to offer some of the concerts online so we may buy tickets to watch at home if we can figure out how to do it. Right now we just feel safest at home.
Did you hear that Bless This Mess and Single Parents have been cancelled. I was sad to hear that-especially since Single Parents ended with kind of a cliff hanger.
We just found out this couple that we were good friends with but have kind of lost touch with about ten years ago got a divorce after 47 years of marriage. He fell in love with a much younger woman. That has just blown my mind-I can hardly believe it. My mind is still reeling from the news. She wished Greg a good memorial Day on Facebook yesterday and he said he hoped she and her husband were well and then she proceeded to tell him about the divorce. Yikes! She must have been devastated.
On a happier note. The sun is out, the birds are singing and the frogs are croaking in the pond. There are tons of tadpoles right now so the frogs and toads have been busy. lol It’s a good day to be alive.

Gail and Colleen
I went to a Catholic high school mine was coed. Very small. Graduating class was 35. LolGailster
I am glad Greg is being so cautious
Omg. I would not want to go out at all in your area when people from other states are coming to act crazy. I pray the numbers in your state will not be going back up. What is wrong with people????We had Aizen here overnight we watched Santino while Marissa and Amanda went to pay their respects. Steph is with Sam and her family.
Marissa said Lisa’s youngest son kept kissing her in the coffin. Her oldest son did her makeup The whole thing is so heartbreaking. Her youngest son just graduated high school this year
I’m attaching pics of the lilacs and the wisteria bush. They look so pretty. My new dogwood tree had only about 3 flowers. What is up with that??
The pool is ready. That’s another good thing.
I pray so hard every night to stop the people from dying. Every nightly announcement of souls lost makes me cry
Also attaching a pic of my beet salad. I made brownies. Yesterday too, and corn muffins. I forgot to take pics of those
During to see AGT!!!
Adele -
Here’s another pic of where the crazy metal birds are
Ananda was doing more yard clean up for me today. Lol
Adele -
I got an error message. On the pics
-
Trying again
-
Hi Adele,
I get that error message from time to time. It usually means my picture is too big. I don’t know if it shows up under my pictures when I post them or not. -
Hi Gail,
We never did watch Storage Wars. I do not know why. I guess it never did come on at a good time for us. It was easy to watch the other day because they showed one after another. We have been watching Pickers for a long time. It is a lot more interesting then a lot of shows that are on.
It sounds like the teacher that taught Latin wanted to make it fun for all of you. I had a nun that took Latin very series and wanted us to also. So the classes were kind of boring. I cannot remember ever doing anything that was much fun in that class.
We went to a Catholic High School and grade school. I switched to a public school because I got tired of following after my sisters. There was always a teacher that taught one of them and they would compare us. My sister that was two years older then me was a really good kid. She never got in any trouble. Me i liked to talk during during class even fell asleep a couple of times. My other sister was really smart. She never had to study for tests. She is the kind that while we were cramming for finals she was out running around friends. I was glad that my oldest sister did not go to that high school they would have compared me to her also.
I guess you saw the pictures of the pools in the Ozarks. All those people crowded into the pool. They made it look like they were shoulder to shoulder in the pool. Now that is stupid. Why would people do that. They had kids there among all those people. It is crazy that people would do that. I know that people like to swim but would not think that much.
Well that is about all from here. Have a great day.
Colleen -
Hi Adele,
I cannot believe that I pit your name on DD’s message. My brain was on a mini vacation. It seems to take them often here lately.
I am sorry to hear about Steph’s friends mom. That is so sad. It was nice that she did not have to take Aizen with her. I know that Aliza was at mom’s and she did not understand all of it. It would probably be the same with Aizen.
It seems like my Christmas gift list just keeps getting bigger. So I have to keep up with it. We have two more added to the list this year and if Kylie decides to bring some one the we have to get a gift for them also.
The Catholic high school I went to was an all girl school. I explained to Gail why I did not want to stay at the catholic school. It is not fun to follow your sisters in school.
We finally got our air working. I was glad of that. It was so hot in here that I could not eat. Ron did eat much. It was just too hot and humid. They still have to come back and finishing fixing the furnace.
Your pool looks so clear. We have to open our pool this week. We have been waiting for the rain to stop so the kids wwill be able to get in there. We have a guy that is going to come over and clean it out for us this year. We are having him come because our cover came off and it really needs cleaning. He is also going to bring a cover that will stay on the pool.
Well that is about all from here. Have a good night.
Colleen -
Beautiful day here. Joey came by before going in town. He likes to “lay eyes” on us and see for himself we are okay. Gosh, I love him for that. He knows that we both have said we are ok in years past and not be so good. Did I tell you that Lisa did all the dishes the other night after they came for the cookout? This is the first time any of of my DILs have done this, and I really thanked her for being so sweet. She also made Joey a plate at dinner, and he made her drink. I think they are really doing good now and it makes me so happy. They have had their times of storms, so clear and calm looks good to me. So I am praying they are really becoming closer and closer to one another. Haven’t heard from Neal this week. This has been so hard. Miss the baby so badly. We know time and distance from us all makes such a big difference at his age. Our heart aches to see and touch them.
Colleen, you little Greyson is really getting active. He is building those strong arm muscles pushing up and has that little round tummy to help him roll. Ha ha. That is so sweet. They are just so soft and smell so good. I would just breathe in deeply when Colin was here just to fill my lungs with his precious smell.
ADELE, you little Sonny is such a sweetie too. He is our long and lean little fellow. I am so glad you got to be with him. Has he been trying to talk too? That is so sweet when you know they want to talk and they look right in your face and make those little noises. Also I am so very sorry to hear about Stephanie’s friends mother passing away. What a shame at such a young age. On another note Adele, we love beets and wonder if your beet salad is easy to prepare? It looks delicious. I made brownies too the other day, but mine just didn’t taste good to me. Jerry ate them, but I think it’s because I didn’t have any nuts to add.
Gail, we love fresh corn. I have a funny story about our Dodger. We have a big cornfield in the pasture next to us and all last year dodger would be seen with an ear of corn (usually dragging stalk and all) in his mouth just chewing away. Those corn cobs and stalks were all over our land and Jerry actually said once that if dodger didn’t supplement his diet with corn we would have to be out more money in dog food for him! I said oh good grief Jerry! Leave it to Jerry to be thinking of the financial aspect of Dodgers helping himself to the farmers crop of corn. But he truly loves raw corn on the cob. And I love fresh corn too, so we are all right there with you and Greg including our Blue Tic Hound. And your picture of the Bloodhound looks just like Bandit!
Sue, it sounds like you are doing good being able to get your grocery supplies in your area and doctors are taking good precautions. I am glad to hear that for you. We are now able to get toilet paper again, but now no chicken or ground beef. Really hard to even get most pork too, and bread still in short supply. DD how are supplies doing in your area? Neal said it is over 100 degrees out there today. Is it that hot where you are at?
Better go for now. Hope all is well for everyone. -
Hey DD
No it does not show up Under themDid you see AGT last night? It was so nice to see. I loved the homeless singers
I did not like the gross guyIt is hot here today. Yuck.
How are you doing
Adele. -
Hey Colleen
I hope you get the pool done soon. It’s getting hot fast
We still have to get the stairs in the pool
That is fun when your Christmas guests increase. It makes the holidays happier
Did you see AGT last night?
Hope your day is going well
Adele -
Hi Ladies,
Well, we’ve reached that dreaded 100,000 lives lost to the virus. And I haven’t heard a word from 45 yet. And with all this partying, etc. going on I think we’re in for another round of it, only worse. What’s with the blowup about Joe Biden wearing a mask out in public?? All I’ve heard for weeks is we should wear one out in public. How does 45 know what goes on in the Biden household? I don’t wear a mask around the house. I’m lucky if I remember to wear it to go downstairs to get the mail. But I always wear one when I go to the store. I have one in my bag all the time.
I hope all of you are doing well. I’m fine. Allergies are driving me nuts!! We’re having a mini heatwave the next couple days, up into 80s, then Sat. a soaker comes in for the weekend.
Adele, I don’t watch AGT anymore. But I did see the host on the View the other day & he said they taped it back before the virus hit, & the shutdown put in place. So you’ll see the audience go from filling up the studio to gradual shrinking down to an empty studio.
So far our meat supply seems to be okay. We just had rib eye steaks for $6.99/lb for the holiday weekend. Altho that could be coming to a screeching halt!! The meat packing plants are all but shut down cuz the employees are testing positive for the virus. One has almost 90 tested positive so far.
My freezer is full right now. Bread & other essentials are fine, eggs, milk, candy, the only thing that’s hard to find is paper products; paper towels, etc. Cleaning wipes, are hard to find too.
When did chicken go off the charts? It’s still readily available here.
Want to get out of the heat & humidity? Come west. Any place west of the Rockies is fine. It’s a dry heat. When the rain comes in the temp will drop almost 20 degrees. We’ll be in the 60s over the weekend. Weather whiplash.
I went thru my summer decor today. My tropical pics, etc.,so many pics of the tropics, and my private islands. LOL.
well, I better get off here before i lose this post.
Stay safe & well!!

Hey Barbara
It is hot up here. Humidity through the roof
Thank you for the kind words for Steph’s friend. Just awful. Her youngest son kissing his dead mother is so sad on so many levels.
Sonny is getting his personality. He loves being outside. He loves to eat. Marissa is making his food. I find that amusing Marissa said Luna is getting very protective over Sonny. I am dying to see Sonny really play with Luna.
I got Sonny Elmo slippers an Elmo blankie and pillow because he lives Elmo. He really likes the color red
Donny dies babble back at you. I love that too!
I have realized how painful it is not to see the kids for months on end. I feel so bad you gave to live that every day.
I am thrilled for Lisa snd Joey Thank God. That is wonderful that she did your dishes. A real break through! Thank Hod for our kids They make sure we are ok
Hope you have a good day
I loved the story about hubby and the corn puppy. Lol

Hey DD
I just heard Joe Biden’s comment on losing 100000 lives. Very touching. Nit like the lack of caring from 45
They said on news last night we will have an awful hurricane snd fire season. They are concerned for people having to go to shelters for a storm during a pandemic. Dam. I hope they are wrong snd the storms move out to sea
Did I tell you the Q took my bunnies and ducks back? I was thrilled I ordered metal creature decorations to replace them. I had the three birds. I ordered three roosters and a crane. I hope theses metal ones will hold up to the weather.
It is hot and humid up here.
I hope your day will be good!!
Adele -
Hi Barbara,
That was really nice that Lisa did dishes for you the other day. I am happy that Joey and Lisa are doing better together. Maybe it just took them awhile to get back to how they were. I just hope that this will start a new friendship between you and Lisa.
The little ones are so cute and cuddly. He likes to snuggle up as close as he an get to you when he is sleeping. I cannot wait until he starts crawling. It shall be interesting He does get mad when he cannot get his whole body up at the same time. He needs to lose a little weight.
That is funny that Dodger would get corn out of the field. I did not know that dogs would eat corn like that. That has to be funny watching the dog try to eat the corn off the cob. lol Dogs are fun to watch sometimes. They can get into a lot of things. It would be nice if he would bring enough home so you could cook some for you and Jerry.
Well that is about all from here. Have a great night.
Colleen -
Hi Adele,
I do not watch AGT. I am watching that dumb storage wars. You can really get hooked on that show. I like auctions and I like to see what they find in the lockers. They find some interesting things and then they find some real trash. They are sometimes as interesting as American Pickers.
Christmas will be a lot more interesting this year. More people and the new baby. I am going to have to find a high chair for the baby. I use to have one here but after Aliza got too big for it we got rid of it. They do have a second hand store in town and I will see if I can find one there. I do not want to buy a new one for the short amount of time they sit in it. I just hope that she has one that is reasonably priced.
Well that is about all from here. Have a good night.
Colleen -
Hi DD,
I really like the pictures that you posted. The water looks so calm and pretty. When you look at the ocean it just looks like it goes on for ever and ever. It makes me wonder how these ships captains can navigate and get where they have to go.
Do you watch the masked singer? They say that is it coming on again but I do not see how they are going to do it. I wonder if they will spread the audience out so they will not be close to each other. It will be interesting to see how they do it. No matter it will still be fun to watch.
It has been really hot here for a few days and now a cool front is coming thru. We have really had a lot of rain. It is supposed to rain again tonight. I hope they are wrong. We will be floating away soon if it does not stop.
Well that is about all from here. Have a great night.
Colleen -
Hi Barbara,
I am glad to hear that things are seeming better for Joey and Lisa. Can’t believe that neither DIL had ever helped with the dishes before. Kim always helped me and Jenny too. And all the DIL’s and daughter helped at Greg’s Mom’s house and she never had a dish washer in her old house where many holiday’s took place. Everything was done by hand. We always used to suggest paper plates but she would have none of that. lol
That’s funny about Dodger and the corn-especially because that is most likely field corn and not even sweet corn. Dodger must have a tough stomach. I love that you have a bloodhound and a blue tick coonhound-it just seems so southern! lol I guess they are your “hounddogs” in honor of Elvis. lol Greg would love to have a coonhound but I don’t want a dog that large anymore plus I know they shed a lot even with the short hair and since our dogs are always indoor dogs I don’t want all those little sticky pieces of fur around. We had a dalmation years ago and I loved that dog he was so good and so smart but I swear he never shed the black hairs-just the white ones. Speaking of Elvis-I see Graceland has reopened. I always say it’s one of those places everyone should see once if they are in the area. It’s amazing the sheer number of people that go through that place in a year so many years after his death-that’s a phenomena in itself. I went on the website and looked at the new hotel there. It looks pretty nice but if I remember correctly( and it was probably close to 20 years ago that we were there) the neighborhood around there didn’t look like the best. Maybe things have changed now. If I were to go back again I would like to stay at the hotel with the ducks-is it The Peabody? I love places that have stories like that. I don’t think there will be any traveling this year though. I hear that RV rentals and sales are way up. People want to travel in their own self contained little spaces.
Gail -
Hi DD,
I like your pictures of the tropics. I always wanted to go to one of those places where they have the huts over the water. I doubt that I ever will, but a girl can dream. I have been having trouble getting chicken-even the frozen breasts. I have an order in for pickup at WalMart tomorrow so we’ll see what things i actually get. I never thought i would actually miss going to the grocery store but neither Greg or i plan to go for a long time. The only bad thing about the order for pickup is if you are there yourself and they don’t have something you can make an adjustment on the fly but when someone else is doing it for you that can’t happen. so sometimes I have planned to make something but if i can’t get the ingredients that messes up my plans for the week’s meals. We have learned two things through this to make adjustments because you have to and we , I think, are less wasteful and try to use up all leftovers in some manner-so I guess they are good lessons to be had. i always try to find a silver lining if I can-it keeps me sane.
Just over the border in Wisconsin cases are rising two weeks after the state supreme court overturned their stay at home order and things just opened back up with no precautions in place-i said it was like the wild wild west there-and we are between Chicago and Wisconsin-so we just continue to stay home and keep our heads down.
The weather has been warm but it is going to cool down a bit this weekend but the sun is shining!
Gail -
Hi Colleen,
My brother and sister were ahead of me in school also. But they were 4 and 5 years ahead so it was probably worse for my sister being just a year behind my brother. I had teachers that had my siblings but it didn’t bother me much-sometimes it was actually an advantage if the teacher liked them. lol
I hope you get your pool open soon. the grands will probably come and use it. Jenny wants us to put in a pool so the kids can use it since the public pool is closed this year. She said she would be the pool boy. lol
Gail -
Hi Adele,
I’m with Sonny-I like Elmo too!
I didn’t hear what Biden said about the 100,000 plus dead. It’s hard to believe our fearless leader has never extended sympathy to the families of all who have been lost. It’s all just too too sad.
Oh no-you’re putting a crane in your yard! lol Whenever we see one on TV or something we always groan because we have the heron who comes to try and feed on our fish. so we have a real live crane that we are always chasing away. lol it’s all about perspective. lol
We saw AGT-when those icky acts come on I pull my shirt over my head until they are done. lol Good thing there’s no one else here when we watch. lol
We also watched the show with Gronk and Venus-that was silly but sometimes we just need some mindless entertainment.
I see the Boston Marathon has been totally cancelled. Hopefully next year there will be a vaccine and a cure and we can do the things that we love once again. Sometimes the uncertainty of the future is the hardest-kind of like waiting for the results of a medical test. We have to hope for the best but prepare for the worst. I find I just need to pray, pray pray-then shed a few tears and then turn my face to the sun again and find my optimism. It’s a rollercoaster.
Here’s a new one. Greg is looking to hire a new mechanic so when he goes to interview him they will try to meet outdoors in a park or something and stay six feet apart. That will be unusual. I told him maybe he could figure out how to skype an interview too. That seems more professional. We’ll see what happens.
We are looking at some nice weekend weather. Low seventies and sunny.
Gail -
Hi Colleen
You would have liked AGT I have never seen storage wars.
It is very hot and humid up here. Gross.
Heather is going to an ear specialist today. She keeps getting ear infections, and is having trouble hearing. Her primary set up the appointment. She has seen him before- a long time ago.
Is your pool done yet? Are you still having awful storms? I hope not.
We just got a high chair and playpen, so Sonny has a place to sleep safely when he is here, and I can play with him when he is in the high chair.
I hope we find something good to watch on TV tonight. I did watch the game show with Gronk for a while, but I was not thrilled with it.
Hope you have a good day!
Adele -
Hey Gailster
i think the skype interview is a great idea, and a lot safer too. Does Greg have an I phone? He can face time the interview.
I do hate those gross acts, and they keep coming back! I hate the dangerous ones too. My hands get all sweaty while they are on. Hate them to pieces!
I love your pics and DD’s. They are so funny. Like the humans all taste like disinfectant….LOL
I hope you can find some chicken. Chicken was scarce up here, then it appeared, a lot more expensive than before. We are still limited to 2 packages of meat at any market, or for delivery. I cant find that tasty Gorton’s haddock filets. They do have fish filets, but the haddock tasted so good! Bobby could not find Kens Italian dressing. The one we use with olive oil is nowhere to be found. So,I ordered the zesty one from Amazon.
It is very weird how certain items disappear every week. Bizzarre.
Im waiting for Heather to come back from the ear specialist. Im hoping it is something that can be fixed, and not a major issue. She has enough to deal with.
Hope your day is good….and no cranes eat your fishies!! Maybe if you get a fake one from the Q it will keep the real one away???
Adele -
Just want to add that when Dodger is eating his corn, he holds it between his paws and his little front and bottom teeth just pick the kernals off! It is so cute. The corn looks like good corn Gail not mule corn so I think he picks well ha ha We are real southern folks down here and have to have at least one hound laying stretched out on our porch. Sometimes at night we hear Dodger “treeing” something out in the creek area. There is also an owl that we listen to at night when he starts his “whoohoo” sound. The noise carries so far out here. I used to tell the boys the owl was calling them and they would call him back and start a little conversation. Bet you know all about this too Colleen.
Graceland is really nice Gail, but you’re right the area surrounding it leaves a lot to be desired. I’ve attended quite a few events there. it was quite an honor to be a part of it all. Lots of good memories. I love the Peabody too Gail. Have you ever been in the lobby to watch the duck procession? This has been going on for many years and they have an entire floor to themselves. Very special little mallards. I love to sit in the lobby and listen to the baby grand. So beautiful with the huge floral arrangement. Hope you were able to experience it.
Hope all is well with Heather and her ear. Those can be so painful. I am so worried about our families, our country, our lives. Like Gail said, not knowing is so hard to bear. This uncertainty, this strange new life, our world so changed…well I must stop or I won’t be helping any of us, sorry…… -
Hi Gail,
You are smart not to go into Wal-Mart. The ones around here do not wear masks while they are in there. They only let so many in the store at a time but I do not see what good that does if they are not wearing a mask. Ron goes into the stores and buys things because he cannot stand to stay home. He needs to stay home but he is too restless. He did pretty good for awhile but then just could not stand it anymore.
We still have not gotten the pool cleaned. W should be able to get it done this week the weather is supposed to be really nice. If the guy my daughter found does not come this week we will find someone else. Our pool cover came off and so we really need it cleaned out really good. That is why we want someone to come over and do it this year. I can watch him so I can do it next year. You may enjoy having a pool it is something and having the kid over is fun.
I hope that Greg has good luck hiring people in the park. Melissa is hiring people to work for her friends cleaning company. She does it over the internet though. It is the same person that she worked with in Cookeville. She use to help with the hiring when worked there before.
The memes are really funny. I like the dogs trying to find people to take their owners. Have a great day.

Hi Adele,
That was a good idea to get the play pen for Sonny. We have been putting on the floor o a blanket in the living room. We do not have as many people coming in and out here though. When he gets a little older Brook will have to bring her playpen so he can get in that. We have a booster seat for when he is old enough to sit at the table. I like those when they get too big for the high chair but too small for a big chair.
We watched a lot of shows last night. I like to watch all the old Murder She Wrote shows. Angela Landsbury did not know what she was starting when she made those shows. Now there are dozens of them. Out of all the new ones I like Aurora Teagarden Mysteries. Iike to watch Candice Cameron she is a really good actress. I liked her when she was on Full House.
I hope that Heather will be ok. It is rough when you have an ear ache like that. I hope they can figure out what is wrong and give her some medicine to help her with it.
No the pool is not done yet. I am hoping the guy will come next week if not I will start looking for someone else. The weather here is supposed to be nice and no more rain.
Hope you have a great day.

Hi Barbara,
That is funny that dodger holds the corn between his two paws. How does he get the husks off the corn? Does someone do it for him? I hope you have gotten a picture of him doing that. It would make such a good picture.
We have been to Grace land before. I did not go thru the house though. Ron did and the couple that we went with did. They said that the house inside is really small. I grounds are really pretty and the restaurant that is by the gift shop is nice also. They had the peanut butter butter sandwiches that Elvis liked He fried it and it sounded really fattning. They had a magnet with the recipe on it and Ron bought it but we never did try and make them. We had a good time there.
It is better not to think about what the world will be like like when this is over. It will just worry you and make people lose sleep. Well that is about all from here. Have a good day.

Hey Barbara!
I have heard an owl up here only twice. I put an owl house in a tree, thinking I would see one. I have not seen one, or did not recognize it….LOL One I saw lat at night when I heard the hooting. I got up and he was on top, in a big tree, and then he took off. What a sight- even in the dark. I owuld love to see one again.
The doctor said Heather has more of a swimmers ear. She also has TMJ and he said that causes a lot of the pain, which is sometimes not an infection. He is calling her back in two months to recheck the ears. She also has eczema in the ears, and has spots on her tonsils he wants to keep an eye on.
It is still hot up here, but getting cooler by tonight and the humidity will be gone.
Are you all ok down there? I heard they set a city hall on fire in Tenn. I am hoping that one is not near you. So scary. I worry about Aizen becasue he inherited Jhonny’s skin coloring. JJ does not look Hispanic, but Aizen definitely does. His beautiful skin gets very dark in the summer, and I fear for him when he grows up to be a teenager, or man. That is awful to feel that way, and my heart breaks for every mother of a darker skinned boy. No mother should have to be afraid because of the color of her son’s skin. What is wrong with people? I say that almost every day when I see the news.
I hope your weather improved too. We are too old for the heat and humidity!
Have a good Sunday!

Hi Colleen
I love Candace Cameron too. Last night we watched a Hallmark movie we had recorded from Valentines Day. It was a nice movie. I love the Hallmark movies. They are always nice to watch with no violence for a change. We get enough of that on the news!
Tonight Steve Harvey does the Celebrity Family Feud again. That is always very funny.
I just got a great gadget form ITKWD- an automatic can opener. Even with the nice one from Kuhn Ricon, I sometimes have trouble putting enough pressure on it. I got one for Tillie, Heather, Marissa and Steph too. LOL I love when they come out with a new cool gadget. Steph’s birthday is next month, and I needed another gift for Heather for Mothers Day as she never chose something to give her. I owed her one small gift to go with her Mothers Day gift certificate.
I wrote the results of Heather’s doctor appointment in the post to Barbara….please read it, as it is a lot to re type….LOL Nothing bad, just aggravating for her.
The new highchair and playpen came. I left them in the box until Marissa comes over again. I also think the metal birds are here- there is a big box that got delivered. Gary said he will help me with the box after he is done watching his movie….LOL
I hope your weather is good and you are nowhere near any protests.

Hi Adele,
I watch the Hall Mark movies also. They are all such good movies and they have a lot of new people staring in them. Have you seen the detective story that stars Brook Sheilds? She is okay in it but it is not one of my favorite. I was kind of disappointed.
I need to find a jar opener. That would be nice to have. I can hardly open a jar anymore. It would be nice to have something to do it for me. I will have to look on the q and see if they have anything.
I hope that Heather can get over this problem with her ear. She has been having her health problems this year. I just hope they give her something to help with her ear. I will be praying for her.
That came quickly. I would open the boxes just to see what they look like. I like baby things. They are so cute. I may get the high chair that they had for Aliza. It was really nice and then I will not have to get one second hand.
Well that is about all from here. Have a great night.

Hey Colleen
I had a call from my cousin in Ohio. She is one town away form the rioting, and can see the smoke from her house. She is scared. She is 80 years old, and her husband is 84, I think. This is awful. I am so afraid for everyone who went to the rally and then the fear of the getting the virus going again can shut us all down again. Most of the people were peace loving good intentioned people. As soon as it got dark, the trouble started. We watched it until late last night. We could nto believe what they were doing in Boston, in clear sight, even when the tV stations were filming tier license numbers. This is just not good for anyone.
I hope Heather gets better too. But yesterday the growths on her tonsils were getting bigger on one side, and she was having trouble swallowing. Not sure if I mentioned the growths. They are watching those.
I was not thrilled with the Hallmark show with brook Shields either. LOL
Hope you have a good day and nobody loots or riots in your area.
We need to pray for everyone. Like Al Sharpton said this am……the agitators come into the city and get the kids to do these awful things, then they leave, and the kids go to jail for what they encouraged them to do.

Starting a new June thread. See you all there.

Hi Adele,
That would be scary to see all the smoke .I worry about everyone. I feel so bad for the business owners where these people are breaking windows and looting stores. These people are not worried about the man that got killed they are just being destructive and taking all they can get. I just pray that is over soon.
I am hoping that none of this craziness comes here where we live. We live so far out and we do not have that many stores here for them to loot. Have not heard of any peaceful demonstrations here either.
That is scary the growths that Heather has on her tonsils. I hope they figure out what has caused this and get it taken care of. I am surprised that they do not want to take her tonsils out. That is usually the first thing that they want to do.
Not a lot going on here. It is so boring. Have a good night.
Colleen -
Hey Colleen
I can’t believe the looting that happened up here. It was all peaceful until it got dark. They were looting while the TV stations were filming them and filming their license plates
It was peaceful here last night
It seems there were two groups. The thousands who had voices to be heard and the few who were hoodlums.
This country is in so much trouble. I’m afraid our virus numbers will go through the roof on two weeks because of all those people together
I hope they figure it all out with Heather too. She has way too much going on with her health.
Hope your day goes well. Stay safe!!!

Hi Ladies,
Sorry I haven’t been on here the past few days. Portland has been in chaos for the last week or so. I don’t know if we made the national news, but we were just one of the MANY cities that had riots. I think it was Friday night when a peaceful demonstration turned into a full fledged riot downtown. It happened in a flash!! They destroyed downtown Portland, & the cops did little or nothing to stop it!! But then again if they had who knows what would’ve happened. I say just shoot the bastards!!KILL EM!!! But that’s just me. Luckily I’m in the opposite direction from where it was all happening. Of course the local media was filming all of it. I wish they wouldn’t do that. All it does is give the criminals the limelight. Then the mayor set an 8 pm curfew but as soon as it hit 8, all he– broke lose. I see they’re still protesting but nothing like over the weekend. No curfew in affect tonight.
On Friday night they broke into the justice center, & started fires, but the sprinkler system put it out. It’s been awful. I’m not minimizing what went on in other cities, we’re just not prepared for what happened. But is anybody?
And DON’T get me started on #45!!! What piece of crap!!!!
I hope you’re all doing fine otherwise. I said weeks ago the virus would explode over the summer months. And I still think so. Now all of this will really excellerate it big time!!! (Pardon my poor spelling.)
I’m gonna have to go back & read the posts I missed.
I posted my pic of Snowball with her tongue out & have gotten some responses from it.
She’s lucky she’s alive today. She kept me awake till 4 am this morning!! So you can imagine how I’ve been today.
Our weather’s been nice the past few days. We had some showers overnight a couple of nights, but that’s fine. We had a mini heat wave last week the heat came up from Ca., but it only lasted a couple of days.
I can’t think of anything else.
I’ll close for tonight & will get back later.

Hi DD
I love your pics as always! Especially your kitty!!
I am so glad you do not go out at night. Right now that is dangerous in every city. There is another huge one going on now in Boston. Last Sunday night was awful. Then they had peaceful ones during the week. I pray tonight’s stays peaceful and the troublemakers do not start at the end of the demonstration like they did last Sunday
These are awful times. We have a supposed leader who makes it worst every time he opens his mouth. This is America for Gods sake. This does not happen here! What is wrong with people? People are people. Nobody is better because of the color of their skin.
I hoe you are ok and your area stays safe
Prayers sent!!!

Forgot to say. Thank you for the prayers for Heather
I think we are all so afraid for everyone on this country. All we can do is pray
