    Hi Sue.
I forget what state you are in. We are getting snow on Sunday, I heard. We had the coldest night in history for April last night. Today was a little better- in the low 40’s. Tomorrow, we are having a horrible rain storm with huge wind, and thunderstorms. Can you imagine??

I am going to try your frosting when the sweet strawberries start to come out. Ours have been so sour, I have to dip them in sugar. Kind of defeats the fresh fruit idea. I love strawberries.

I have found that to be true with the whip cream frostings too. You have to get it just right. once I over whipped it, and ended up with frosting that looked like butter. Oh boy, did Tillie have another good laugh on me. She kept saying….”I told you not to over beat the whip cream”. We have to laugh at our mistakes.
    Hope your night goes well.

I really have to make myself a list of every state everyone is in. I did make one, but, it got thrown out with the old calendar by mistake.

Hi Gail, and everyone…………..the box is annoying. Totally agree. It is in the way.

Well. I got the new spurtles today, and the edge of one of them looks like it will split. I am sending one set back. I got 4, for Mothers Day. I hope the others are ok. That is the first time I had to send a spurtle back.
I can see what Greg is trying to do. Those are a lot of variables to match. the outside bathroom would not be on my list either. I understand what he means about a place for the kids to gather with the grand’s for vacations. I keep forgetting Greg is not retired. How could I, when we just had that discussion about the new staff person starting to help him out??? LOL
I do the same thing. I fall asleep and miss the program I wanted to see. Gary yells…hey….and I am awake again.
Piper and Lachan are funny. They must be so entertaining to watch. We are all blessed with grands that keep us entertained.
The snow should go tomorrow- with the next torrential rain storm, complete with lightning. It is supposed to be a doozy.
I hope your weather is better.
    how has Brent been doing?
Hope your night is good. I have been trying to catch up with the posts, and hope I did not miss anything. there are so many people coming and going here every day, I have been “time challenged”.

    Hi Colleen
That was a very long day. I have found they are trying to do celebrations of life, to make the process a little easier. But, when you make it that long, it is harder for everyone involved. they were probably trying to make it more positive, and did not realize how long that was making the day. The poor kids.
I hope they are all healing. It will take a while. It takes an emotionally healthy adult 2 years to process a loss, and a child takes 7 years. When you think of it in those terms, it is very difficult. When I taught the class on loss, people were blown away by those facts.
I was glad that woman got voted off on DWTS. the next person will be hard, as they are all trying so hard, and doing their best. We will have to see who goes next.
JJ did go to school. Steph had Marissa pick him up, so she did not have to walk to the bus stop with Aizen. We got about 5 inches. A lot melted today, as it was around 43. It is supposed to rain tomorrow, so that should get rid of the rest of it.
I hope your new tiles go down easily, and that Ron doe snot hurt himself doing it. What room are they for?

    Hi Colleen and Gail
Poor Ethan. These things are so hard on children. They tend to blame themselves for everything, and you never know what they are thinking, unless you ask the question directly. how can you figure out what is in their mind, that they have not verbalized?. So hard when a grandparent dies. I wish we could all live until they are married.
It is so difficult when there are family members who are estranged form the family, and cuase so much problems. It makes a loss even harder for everyone. My prayers are withyou all.

    Hi Barbara
I agree with Sue on the frosting- that sounds fabulous. I have not made a strawberry frosting. they love the whip cream ones here, and I put the strawberries on top of the frosting. I am going to try Sue’s.
I also love to roast the asparagus. Are you cutting enough of the bottoms off? You really lose about half, at least of the stalks. the bottoms are too stringy to eat. If you grow them at home they get real tall, and lose even more. I add some chopped up garlic, and either a little olive oil, or butter drizzled over them. Yum, yum, as Aizen says.
Well. As we have not had a lot of snow, Aizen’s tree did not take a hit this year. It is a lot wider, and smaller than the ones I planted around it, so it will be amusing to see how it ends up growing. I am not sure you remember, but, last year Mother Nature attempted to murder Aizen’s tree. She did not succeed, but, she left it with some disabilities….LOL I will take some pics when the trees start to flower again. I love that tree so much, I may get another 2 to finish lining the property with them. All my neighbors asked me about them and I bet they will start popping up all down the street.
Gerry and his mom sound like such a happy little pair. This is so nice for him, ant the end stage of her life. What nice memories he is making.
if I put out any wind chimes here, they would blow to Tennessee….LOL We are supposed to get rain tomorrow, and hopefully melt all the snow. Someone said only in New England can you get all 4 seasons in one week.
Hope you are good, and able to keep us up-dated on your life. We missed you.
Gary is doing good. the legs are much better, and just about completely healed. The shoulder is doing good- no pain for him, so far.

    Hi Sue
One question. Is this the kind of frosting you have to put on, as you serve it? A lot of them do not hold up, if you store the cake for leftovers. It sounds yummy! I love strawberry or lemon anything.
thanks for sharing your yummy frosting recipe.

    Hi Dianne
What a beautiful picture of the mountains.
I do the same thing with Asparagus. I love them roasted. I also roast red and yellow peppers, broccoli, cauliflower, zucchini, etc. They taste so much better roasted, if I have the time. Other times, I steam them. Some timed on a holiday, I will roast a “medley” of them. Depends on my mood, and oven use. Vegies are so tasty, and good for you.
Good for you, for standing up for yourself. I hate snarky people. I also never liked people who treat their employees “less than”, as I say. They need f to figure out, if they treat people like that, they will not get good work out of them. A pleasant work environment is good for everyone.
We have snow on the ground, but, it is supposed to rain tomorrow. That should take the rest of it away.
I hope you are having some sun, and better temperatures than we are….LOL

    hi Gail
It is hard to find a happy medium. Greg loves to fish, and it is hard to get a boat in and out of the water all the time. Your idea sounds good. Would he be happy with renting a house for a month in the summer- at the right spot for fishing? That may work.
Piper is so cute. he must have wanted to sleep over with that cute face wanting him to stay!
So true about the dust. the rooms not used as much so stay a lot cleaner. My worst room for dust is the bedroom. That room dictates when I need to dust the house. That is my least favorite activity. As I said before, I would clean 20 toilets to dusting the house….LOL But, it feels so good when you are done. I dusted yesterday, and have only one more room to do. I just had to stop- the dining room- will be doing it when I finish answering my Quacker friends.
Hope your day is going well, and your weather is good. We have about 4 inches of snow so far, and it will snow until late tonight. Good God!
