Hi Gail
That sounded like a real nice Easter. Fun, and very little heavy work. I bet everyone had a great time, especially you. I hope they have a brunch again next year. I would love to do that. Aorund here, they do have some brunches, but, the crowds are a pain, and the food is usually not as good, because of the volume they are producing.
We all had a good day. Everyone was stuffed. Bobby’s gravy (spaghetti sauce) was fabulous, as well as the ravioli’s. I have a lot of desserts left, and tried to convince them to take more home.
I am posting a pic of the adorable cupcakes Steph brought. You will love them. IU also added a pic of the Pizzaghiena and the Anise cookies.
It is pouring here today. I hope the sun is shining at your place!

PS…the Chew just started.Hi Colleen
‘Your talk is not depressing at all. It is our reality. I am glad both of them art ok for tomorrow.
Did you see where Dianne said Bernie was having a rally near her place? Has your state voted yet? We did a while ago. This is the strangest election ever. It will make history for years to come. Just think of how the future generations will view this craziness.
Nobody will know that you did not bake your goodies. Just put them on a plate, and then make a mark somewhere, so it does not look perfect….LOL
Have a great visit with your mom. I am happy for you that she will stay for a few days. A new baby, and your Mom- how great is that!
AdeleHi Dianne
I love that picture of the pretty flowers. No flowers peeking up around here yet. that is awful that your Easter will be soggy. Ours is supposed to be cloudy- they are still not sure.
How very nice of you to make dinner for your friend. You are a good friend, and neighbor.
We have cable, and can on demand the old shows. I just like the next installment of the shows. We do watch the show on Hallmark that Tom is in- the Jesse Stone series. I agree totally- he is humble and a hunk. I love when he thinks about something, and does that sigh/breathe thing, and ruffles his brow. I am trying to teach Gary to do it. LOL I got GAry a Tom Selleck sweater, and he only wore it once. he went right back to his old, comfy one. Oh well!
Happy cooking tomorrow. Happy Easter to you and you neighbor.
AdeleHi Dianne
I missed the Quacker show this morning. I will look on the Q for what they had on- have a good day tomorrow!
AdeleHello…forgot one…..LOL
Adele
Hello all my Quacker friends!!!
Just a quick post to load the pics of what I made so far. I hope you can tell that the Edible arrangement I made (chocolate, of course) is on my new Temptations Strawberry serving plate. I took a pic of it in the dish, and with the Easter bag over it. That bag is the same ones I do the kids’ bags/baskets in every year. they are so easy to do, and a lot less fuss.
Happy Eater to all of you,. I still have one more cookie to do- the Italian Anise cookies, and make the starter for the Italian bread for tomorrow…..and it is 4pm.
I will go through all the posts later- please have a happy, safe, and festive day- love you guys!!!
AdeleHi Gail and Colleen
OMG….I remember those boots you wore over your hells, and other shoes too. My Italian Nonna covered her formal living room furniture in plastic. The plastic was actually made to fit the furniture like a custom made cover- matched it perfectly. I now wonder if it came that way. Tillie did it too. That is why I have only one living room, and it is used every day. I hate having a room nobody goes into. Why clean it?
I am not a minimalist. I love to see things sparkle and shine, all over the house. I love colored crystal bowls, vases, and other decorations. Color is big in this house. I have shades of arrange, all through- accents, and main colors.
Pizza Ghiena ( it is spelled a little different by a lot of Italians), is a big meat pie. It has a bottom crust, then layers of fresh cheese, ricotta, and Italian cold cuts- you layer to the top, and end with the cheese on top. It bales for 1 1/2 hours, and than has to completely cool before going in the fridge. It is served cold, in small pieces. In mine I have 5 pounds of cold cuts, 4 pounds of ricotta, 3 pounds of fresh cheese, and 12 eggs. You mix the ricotta with an egg per pound, and then the rest of the eggs get stirred up, (cannot think of the word….LOL I am so tired.) and gently poured over the top to sink into the pie. It gets put together in one of the big roasting/lasagna pans you bake in. It is fabulous. My cold cuts are diced up and include: salami, cappacola, prosciutto, and ham. Some people add pepperoni, but, I do not like the pepperoni in it.
I am off to get into my chair- bet I will be out like a light in a minute. I hear Gary snoring in there…LOL
AdeleHi colleen
It is hard watching our grands. they have so much energy and we have none….LOL
Ron sounds like he thinks he is funny. Maybe you should make fun of the news. You certainly get a lot to make fun of, with the crazy things the candidates are doing. Do you alieve their latest fight about their wives? They look like high school bullies.
After the weekend, I may order that mac and cheese. It sounds good, and if you like it, I know I will too.
I made 3 things today- the Pizza Ghiena, 2 ricotta cakes, and the Greek Twisty cookies. Also did the Madeline dough, that has to be refrigerated overnight. I am really pooped.
I am so glad our mothers are feeling better.
OMG- no Tom Selleck tonight either. What is a girl to do?????
I loved that meringue cake they did on the Chew today, but it did not cut well. I think it would be better if they made little cookies out of it, instead of a big cake.
Signing off as our food just arrived sandwiches form the local take out. I will get back on later to answer everyone else’s posts.
AdeleHi colleen
Read the post to Gail about Gary- he is improving, so that is great.
I totally agree- DWTS will be great this season. I was in awe of the deaf dancer. The human spirit is an amazing thing. The Chew has Ginger Z and Val on for guests today.
Tillie is feeling better. thank God. How is your Mom doing? I hope everyone there is good. Enzo’s mother is real sick- the flu. I hope she is better by Sunday, and if not, I hope nobody here gets it. GAry and I had the flu shot. Tillie did not.
I am not sure what we will do for the egg hunt, either. they keep changing the weather for Sunday. I will also be glad when it is all over, accept I love the baking, and the smells of the baking.
Hope your day is going well.
I have not ordered those sides, but, from all you girls are saying, I want to try the mac and cheese.
