Hi Gail
Retail therapy is the best ever. I am running out of cabinet space. The oven has Temptations in it, for storage- both ovens….LOL
I baked blueberry muffins today. It just took the stress right out of me. I need to bake, like other people need a drink. Chocolate works too. But, I am trying to watch it and follow the WW again. In the first week, I lost 2 pounds. Have not weighed myself in 2 weeks. I have to get back on track.
I am Italian and German, and Gary is Jewish. The kids have Irish in them, from my x. Gary loves a boiled dinner, more than anyone else. It is pretty funny. that was Marissa’s wish for her birthday dinner.
We have 2 doctor appointments for Gary tomorrow. So, Amanda is coming Thursday, to put the baskets/bags together. I love those bags that double as a basket- a lot less mess. Plus, she will stay for dinner too. She has not been here for dinner in a while, due to working at the restaurant so much.
my first 3 Jeeps were white, and silver. I always had red cars, and then moved to white with the Jeeps. Then, the red Jeep caught my eye. you know, the color I really love is that beautiful sparkly eggshell color of the Cadillac’s. Nobody else has that shade of a white, and I do not like Cadillac enough to get one. Gary said since we are in that line of business, if I really want it, he will have the Jeep painted that shade. I think it would look odd….LOL
My JJ was home again today. Steph said her friend got this new inhaler for her son, who has allergies like JJ, and it works better on his cough. She may talk to their doctor about it.
Still raining here. I will pray you do not get any tornados- they scare the be-Jesus out of me. If I ever saw one coming, I would have a heart attack. This house has no basement- it is a raised ranch.
Hey…..have you heard anything from Barbara? I hope she is ok.
Have a good, and safe night- that is my prayer for all of you tonight.
AdeleHey Dianne!
Of course you did not make me grumpy. You made me laugh. I can see myself, with the step stool on a rope to pull it in the Jeep….LOL With my luck, I would give myself a concussion.
You know, I did see that segment with Dave with the bag on his head. I bought a whole lot of those, and we gave them out for Christmas presents to our customers- they loved them. We filled them with some chocolate. Big hit.
I have had to throw out baking pans, to make room for the new Temptations. I have no idea what I will purge, to make room for that pretty new platter. The last platter I got, was the pumpkin one, and I have it on display in the dining room, as I had no room to store it….LOL Soooooooooo, I may have to put the strawberry one, on top of the pumpkin one….LOL They are so great, and I cannot believe I did not know how good they were until last year. I think Gail told me about them, and then I was hooked.
So, did the doctor say you have that gluten thing? There are a lot of flours that are now gluten free- nut flours- to bake with. If it is the gluten thing, it is awful because you have no idea how many product have gluten. I hope it is not, for roar sake. Food allergies are awful. My doctor says to calm down a diarrhea incident, to drink Coke- the regular Coke, with the sugar and caffeine. It does work on me, and lessens an attack. Hope that helps.
I hope you are having some sun out there. It is pouring here today.
Did you decide to go to the senior center for Easter- I think I remember you saying something about that.
Hope your day is bright, and cheery, and that you do not run into any grumpy old ladies….LOL
AdeleHi Colleen
You did make me laugh. I am imagining you listening to all the Trump commotion, all day long. It would be enough to make you move to Canada.
I did not see the recipe- maybe you did it on the recipe thread. I would like to try it, if you can post it. The kids love all those things, and together, they sound good.
I am making the Pizzaghiena- the ricotta Italian meat pie. For dessert, so far, it will be Ricotta pie, mini Cream Cheese pie, Madellines, Italian Anise cookies, and maybe one more- not sure yet.
I will add an extra prayer for your Mom. It gets concerning when they start to get sick at their ages. So far, Tillie has been ok this winter, accept for the toe thing we will handle next week.
That must have been awful to wake up like that, in the middle of the procedure. No wonder you got sick. I have told Christine the same thing- ice and rest for 2 days after the shot. By now, she may have already had it, and is home.
That cake would look real cute with bunnies and jelly beans around it- good idea!
It is pouring here today. Makes you feel so stiff. It is supposed to lessen as the day goes on. Gary said he did no sleep, as the living room has a cathedral ceiling, and the rain is more noisy in there. That is where he has been sleeping in his recliner. The rest of the house is very quiet, you hardly hear anything outside. I guess it is well insulated, and with the new windows we did years ago, you hear very little rain, or wind, unless it is a huge gust.
Hope your sun is shining, so it will shine here in a day or two! Don’t kill yourself cleaning!!!
AdeleHi Gail
Read my posts to Colleen and Dianne for my foul mood news, and doctor appointment social life….LOL
My friend shave a Mercedes SUV- they love it. My Jeep is red. This is how I get in. I kind of “throw” my leg in, and then hoist the rest of my big butt in there. I am sure it amuses my neighbors. Some days when I am tied, my foot gets stuck on the rubber stuff, and I have to use my hand to get the foot in. It really should be on You Tube…..”how not to get into a Jeep”. I was thinking of getting a new one. I actually called, and asked if the new ones were higher than the old ones. They probably laughed their butts off, after they got off the phone. Gary said I need running brads, but, who can turn after you get your foot on there to get in? That seems a lot more dangerous to me. I have had Jeeps for the last 20 years. I would not feel safe in any other vehicle. I love Jeeps.
Best of luck with the new car. Do this……..get a red ribbon, and tie it in the car somewhere. It is an old Italian thing- wards off the evil eye of people who are jealous you got a new car. My Nonna used to do that to every car, and all her new appliances. I forgot to do the appliances- probably why I had so much trouble with the last fridge.
that is cute to put dollar bills in the eggs. Heather is the one who fills them over here. I think she does an occasional one with money, but, not all of them. I hope the kids have fun this year, and that the weather cooperates. It is so early, and way too close to St Patty’s Day.
that is good news about Brent. I hope he does make it up for a visit. You have not seen him in a bit, and I bet you miss him awful. So glad he is happy- he deserves to be happy.
Tell Greg to get a Jeep- a red one!!! He will love it.
Did you see the Chew today- for got to ask Colleen if she saw it. I was laughing. It was the only thing that made me smile today. Our JJ is sick. Marissa and Heather had to pick him up at school for Steph, because I was in the shower when the school called for Steph. My poor little cutie. That means they will not visit again, because of the fear of getting Gary sick.
I hope Greg likes the new guy. Also hope he does not re-injure that foot again. he will need it to get into a Jeep….LOL
Hope your night is going well.
AdeleHi Dianne!
That is what must be wrong with me- the time change. Maybe that is why I am in a foul mood. Read my post to Colleen for all the dirt.
That is funny. Gary thought you meant basketball, when I told him our new friend was going to a baseball game…LOL You are so right. The comfy seat at home is a far better view than any seat in the stadium. But you do not get the excitement of the crowd. Have you always enjoyed sports? I watch once in a while- mostly when our teams are in the playoffs.
I think because of my cranky mood today, I ordered a new Tempations deep dish pie plate, and the matching platter- in strawberry. It looked so cheery, and I love Temptations. I just started getting them, and I have to say, they bake everything better. Bobby used the smaller oval dish to do the meatloaf tonight. It was a smaller package of meat- just enough for the 5 of us (Heather ate over tonight too) to finish, with no leftovers. Usually, we have been making the meatloaf in my Temptations Bundt pan. You cannot believe how good it comes out in there.
I love ITKWD- watch it every Sunday. They all know not to Bothe me when he is on. I love his happy dance. Gary was in the next room when Dave did his happy dance, and he said, “here goes your pal again.” It is just good to watch people who are happy. Makes you smile.
I hope you have good news at your doctor appointment tomorrow.
Very glad the storm was not too bad. It has been a weird winter.
hope you have a good night.
AdeleHi Colleen
What is a potato coddle? It is funny that different parts of the country call things different names. The names of food in England are even funnier. I have to ask Christine what she is making. She cooks a lot- way more than I do.
Tonight Bobby came home early, so he mixed the meatloaf. I already had the potato’s washed, and the veggies ready in the pan to steam. So tonight’s dinner was a group effort….LOL
Please tell me you are asleep when they do that procedure. That doe snot sound easy to have at all. But, if it helps, I guess you have to get through the bad to get to the good. It is still not easy, as you know what is coming. I will say extra prayers for you , on the day you go for that one.
Christine finally gets the shot in her foot on Wednesday. I hope this works for her. That poor thing has been suffering a long time. So have you, with your stomach.
I am doing the boiled dinner on Thursday. I am not sure who will be able to come. I know Marissa and Heather will be here. JJ got sent home from school today, sick, so I am not sure about them.
I have to get my shopping list ready for this weekend, as I will need to make sure I have all the confectionary sugar, ricotta, and cream cheese. The rest is always on hand. Are you making anything sweet for Easter? Will your mother come to the house for Easter dinner?
I have to take Tillie to the foot doctor next week. Her big toe does not look good. She had the other toenail taken off 2 years ago. They may have to do the same with this one too.
I hate to say this, but, I am so very sick of going to the doctors- all the doctors- everybody’s doctors. It seems lately that is my only social life. I think I am feeling a little cranky today. I guess everyone has a right to have a cranky day. I hope I am in a better mood tomorrow!!! You know, I never even got out my cute Easter Annalees- I have only one big duck out. I bet if the house was decorated, I would be in better mood.
I have to take Gary to 2 doctor appointments on Wednesday. I just want to bake a loaf of bread, or make blueberry muffins. I need my baking therapy. I have to find a way to work in something this week. It really makes me feel good to smell something good baking. It makes me smile.
Sorry to complain. I really should not. I am lucky Gary is alive, and recovering. Other people are not so lucky. I need to go count my blessings, and get out of the cranky mood. Then add that there is nothing funny on TV tonight, to make me laugh. I may need to get to Walmart to buy a new sense of humor.
It is raining here too, and will rain all week. That should be good for my mood.
Hope you have sun soon. Your sun comes this way in a couple of days. I am going to eat some chocolate. That should do it.
Hope you are in a good mood.
AdeleHi Gail
So, what kind of car did you end up getting? I am a Jeep girl, for life. I made Bobby a Jeep boy. Heather would love a Jeep. She has been looking at a Jeep that one of our customers has, which he has been fixing up to sell. It is older- a 2003, I think.
You are going to have to take a picture of the deck, after you put up the snakes and eyeballs. It is going to look like Halloween on your deck. At least you will be all set for October, and way ahead of us.
I cannot kneel anymore. I sit through that part of the Mass. In the Church we go to, there is a bench that divides the 2 rows of benches, and it has no place to kneel- the perfect place for me to sit. I do enjoy Mass, but, it is very hard with all the standing.
How has Brent been doing? I have not heard you mention him in a bit. I hope that means he is very, very good.
How is Greg’s foot? Did they hire that new person at work? I have been adding a prayer that works out for him.
It was good getting out, when the past 2 days have had such great weather. We are getting rain some time tomorrow afternoon.
I slept late today, between the time change, and being tired. We ate breakfast at 11:30. How funny is that???
I will be starting to plan my baking list. The Easter bake-a-thon starts late next week. I will be baking from Holy Thursday to Saturday. On Easter I will do the Italian bread for dinner, became Bobby is cooking this time. Woohaa!!
How have the grands been- getting ready for the Easter Bunny?
AdeleHi colleen
I am embarrassed to say it was nice to get out of here, if only for a funeral. the sun was shining, and it was so pleasant out. I have been stuck in here way too long. I have not even gone out with the girls for lunch. Dying to do that!!!
What procedure is it for your stomach? I hope you can get it done, and feel better. There is nothing worst than a belly ache. It can ruin your whole day.
I slept real late today- we had breakfast at 11:30. I needed that. I am not doing anything today. Tomorrow I will start my routine of cleaning again. As it is only 2 weeks to Easter, Amanda will come over on her day off, to do the Easter baskets with me. She loves to do that. Actually, I should call them Easter bags- I get those cellophane bags from Michaels or Oriental Trading, and put their stuff in them. A lot less mess. I hate the green fake grass everywhere. I actually get the edible green grass- has an apple flavor, and they eat it, instead of it being everywhere. I put a little in a small bag, and then put some a little bit of chocolate in it- some Cadbury tiny eggs- like the M&M’s. Since I do the edible centerpiece- no need for chocolate in their bags- they eat it from the table.
Do you have one of those air fryers they had on the Q today? Is that how you made the potato chips? Do you like it? It looked interesting.
I will get the new glasses in about a week. I needed a new prescription, especially for the close reading. I hope they work better. Glasses are so expensive. I am lucky- the eye exam part is covered by my insurance.
I hope you feel better, and get better before Easter. You will be in my prayers.
I feel the same way as you do. I wonder if I will see JJ graduate. Ethan will make his own hobbies, and interests. But, it will definitely not be sports. You are right- it will be intellectual. MAybe hid Dad will get interested in something he likes. You never know.
Hoop the sun is shining for you. It is here, but we are getting rain tomorrow in the afternoon.
AdeleHi Dianne
You must e a baseball fan- who is your team? we are the losing Red Sox….LOL
It is hard to cook for one. I use the lock n lock’s to freeze our meals, as when I do soup or stew, I make a batch big enough for 2 meals. I LOVE the lock n lock’s.
It is way too early for pollen on this side of the country. But, the weather has been so warm the trees may get confused.
This is my family totals. I have 2 kids, and Gary has 2- all in their 40’s. Unfortunately, Gary’s daughter (adopted from his first wife-her daughter) died 3 years ago this Fall. Very sad story. He has 3 grandchildren, ages 12, 17, and 23. Mine are 19, 20, and 25(all girls). (the 20 nd 25 will be a year older in a couple of months) My great-grands are 9 and 27 months- both boys. For dinner and holidays, all kids come her, accept my step-son, who stays with his wife’s family on holidays. Long story….LOL We tried to combine families, and I was told in no uncertain words that I am not his mother. Never tried to be. Nobody could ever compete with her drama. I am just happy whenever they visit, as Gary deserves to see them- our door is always open- their choice not to come. What is ad, is that the kids would rather be here with all of us, than with their paternal grandmother, who they have openly said they do not like. A shame, really as it doe snot need to be that way. Blended families are a challenge. My motto is to keep the door open, and it is their choice whether or not to come. I sometimes have to send their Easter baskets via mail, and they live in the next town. I make it a point to give the same to all the kids, and consider them all mine. It is the only way to be, as far as I am concerned.
you will love the royal blue. I had my royal blue sparkly zipper crops on yesterday- they fit me perfect as long pants. I am only 5ft, 1 1/2 inches tall.
Everyone will be here for Easter- I will start taking pics of all my goodies, so you all can see. I love to bake.
Hope you are feeling better, and that the rain stops!!!
