Hey Gail!
That is so funny about the tree. Where did you get the tress that have voice command? I have never heard of that. Are they also easy to put together? I have the slim one form QVC a few years back, and there are so many connections you want to spit. Hubby took all the plugs apart last year, and I nearly killed him. I leave them all plugged, accept the one that connects the 3 pieces together. So, I am thinking of a new one for next year.
We did have a good visit, but it is a long ride. We really cannot do that long in the car in one day anymore. Gary said next time we go, we need to spend the night up there. But, all rooms are really ot handicap friendly, so that makes it hard to. I feel we are just better riding home.
that poor puppy! Greg will be in the dog house, if she is not feeling well today. It is hard when the dogs get so old that they cannot climb stairs. It seems to happen when we have difficulty getting up them ourselves. That is what is so hardy about a pet- seeing them get old.
Well, as I told Colleen, I decorated myself to death yesterday. Finally got out the last boxes in the last closet. I was so pooped, I told Gary I am not going to have Bobby get up the 2 bins that go on the tree, and that have the big Annalee’s in them- I am done. I said, “Who cars if the tree is not decorated- you cannot tell from outside.”…..LOL LOL One thing I cannot find is the lighted garland for the railings. We cannot find them anywhere. I have a feeling they were thrown out in error.
I am making the potato Latke’s for Garry this week for Hanukah. We just have to figure out which night is best for everyone.
Hope your week will be good, and free of any falls. I wish I had a video of you talking to the tree….LOL
AdeleHi Colleen!
I am glad you had your daughter, and the kids over this weekend to keep you and Ron company. I am sure you are both lonely without your puppy.
Of course you cook better then your daughter- we oldies have more experience. I bet that soup was delicious. Soup is my all time favorite meal. I love all kinds of soups.
I do not see your pictures. I will look at your page, in case they are there.
Our grand’s know a lot more about computers than we do.
I decorated myself to death yesterday. I was really stiff last night. I purged some more, an will either give, or throw away some, and then sell some Annalees on Ebay. So, my job for today is to vacuum the 2 rooms, because of the mess of getting boxes out, and then take the pics for Ebay.
Hope you have a good day.
AdeleHello everyone.
I decided to answer everyone on one post, as I was not on yesterday. We got home too late, and I was pooped.
Gail
Oh yes. My kids hid when they saw me coming, and I hid when I was stalking them…..LOL They never knew when I would pop up. Literally. Either me, or my girlfriends.
All the kids gathered at my house. We had at least one sleep-over a week, for one or the other. On Saturday nights, I made home made pizza, and chocolate chip cookies, and they all came in and out for a piece. That went on for just about all their teen years. I see a lot of Beverly in me. I had at least one of the sweaters she wears, and some others I had similar fabrics. Heather had a lot of similar outfits the girls wear. Does anyone remember the “Camo Beverly Hills” clothes the girls had back then? Heather had a lot of them. They were sold up here by Filenes.I also feel the horror of what happened in California is so terribly disturbing to all of us. That poor baby they left behind. What a cross for her to bear. This has to come to an end. People have to report everything they see that just does not seem right. That is the one thing we can all do to try and save ourselves.
Gary cannot wrap gifts. It looks like a baby did it. I think they invented the bags for him.
Colleen
I am so terribly sorry about Bisket. how awful for all of you. Ron must have been devastated watching that. I just do not know what to say, accept I am so sorry for the loss of your puppy. How are you both doing?
I did have those rollers. It was a real skill to get them out of your hair, and painful. That was a very funny story about your daughters, and the curlers. I can see it now!
Gary’s back brace also goes over his clothes, and his is had to get on and off too.
I hope you and Ron are doing something nice today, to get your mind off your puppy.Barbara
Hope you are good, and getting all decorated.Sue
Hope you are feeling good today, and getting your mind off this awful tragedy too.Love all my Quackers!
AdeleA big Amen to Gail’s holiday wish for the world.
AdeleHey Colleen and Gail-
I heard President Obama say yesterday that you can be on the “no fly list”, and still be able to buy a gun in the US. THAT has to be changed.

That is funny about the short girls getting the cute guys. I thought the tall girls with the blond hair got them.
I told my back doctor he made me taller, as I saw the bathroom shelf from a slightly different angle after my last surgery. He said I gained about 1/4 of an inch, after he stopped laughing…..I love my doctors, They all have a sense of humor, which they need when dealing with me.Love all you guys……all my Quacker buddies!
AdelePS..there are 2 contests..
Barbara….I forgot to tell you my favorite butter cookie recipe is made with confectionary sugar.
Gail
Lebkuchen is a German bar cookie, similar to gingerbread, with chocolate, tiny bit of rum, and Kirschwasser, and nuts, and with chocolate frosting, mixed with a little rum. The Vienna bars have a butter cookie bottom, layer of chocolate and raspberry jam, with nut meringue on the top layer. That recipe was in either the Star or Enquirer magazine in the 1980’s, and called Nancy Regan’s favorite Christmas cookie recipe. Tillie made it that year, and we have made it every tear since then. I wonder if your raspberry bar cookie is the same, or similar?
We all have such great Christmas cookie recipe’s!!!!
I love the Peace world graphic you found. You find and attach such pretty pictures.
Good God! I do not think I would have been able to sleep after eating that luscious food so late at night.
Here is a funny one for you. Sue has a full length mirror in her litchi on a bathroom door. I sat opposite it. Mistake. Big one. So, sitting in my Quaker finery, I looked like the big Quacker version of Ursula. Oh dear. I think I have been into way too much chocolate for the holiday. Or, I have never seen my glittery self in a sitting position, that close up. LOL LOL LOL I told the girls I should take a pic of myself, and post it on the fridge. I may never eat another Lindt ball……..NOT! As Jeanne said, if you cannot lose it, decorate it. I need more full body decorations. Head to toe.
Love all you guys! From your 5 foot, barely 2 inch, Quacker buddy……
AdeleHi Colleen
I really hope he will be safe in Korea. I read Barbara’s post, and I hope your SIL will be in the same area, as it seems to be a lot safer. I totally understand your feeling that he is not safe anywhere, especially with all the crazy people doing crazy things, everywhere. I hope Melissa will come and stay with you for the kids’ vacations. that will be nice for all of you. I am glad she has a hobby that she loves, and keeps her mind occupied. She sounds like such a good kid. You have good kids, and grands.
Oh yes, all our stories are quite funny about Christmas. I love hearing everyone’s stories. Read my post to Barbara for more Gary stories….LOL
We made the craft at Sue’s today. It is an up-side down wine glass, painted black, with a white spot on firnt- you ut on earmuffs, eyes, nose and feet, and you have a penguin- the bottom of the glass, which is up-side down, becomes a votive holder. we had fun.
Hope you are having a good day. You daughter and SIL are in my prayers.
AdeleHi Barbara!
So glad to hear from you.
I hope the other brothers will listen, and go with yours and Jerry’s plan. That is a good one, and one everyone could live with. But, I have to add….do not be too disappointed if he meets with nothing but arguments. I have a feeling from your stories, that once they got their talons into their mother, they want them to stay. I feel so bad for you and Jerry. the worry, and concern must be making him sick.
I love your stories. Good or bad. They make us closer friends when we share. That was awful about Jerry’s back. I think you said he has trouble with his back now, am I right? How long was he laid up?
I love the story about the Christmas presents- all of them, especially the ring…..LOL LOL
Here is a funny one about Gary. One year, he knew I wanted a new cappuccino machine. So, he gets me one. All proud of his little self he was. I opened the d a huge “reconditioned” sticker on it. The pot had water in it, and was obviously a returned piece. My kids were hysterical. I asked him what he was thinking???? I was so mad, it was funny. He answered that it was cheaper than the other ones. I said, “Yes, and watch this item go right into the trash”, and so it did. That was the last present my husband ever bought for me. I buy my own gifts, as you can see how my whacky husband shops. He tells everyone he doe snot have to buy me anything, because I buy my own gifts. Also, when I was still working, if he ticked me off, I would come home with a new piece of jewelry. If it was a major infraction, I would warn him, “This may be a 4 figure piece”. Oh yes, I have a sense of humor, that can be attached to revenge shopping…..kind of like yours…..LOL LOL This is why we Quackers all get along so well. We do the same things!
I could go on and on with Gary stories. I just need all of you to jog my memory.
I hope Jerry’s conversation went well with his brother, and that his Mom can be back where she wants to be. I will keep her, and all of you, in my prayers.
Hope your day is sparkly! Today I wore my new sweatshirt with the Ho Ho Ho on it, when I went out with the girls.
