Hi Adele,
They are all getting a little crazy about everything. I will be glad when this election is over with. They are talking about changing the convention this year. Making it an open one or something. I have never heard of it. When do the voters get to make a choice. If they can change everything then why do we even vote. It seems unfair to do that. I need to get some ear plugs so I do not hear any of it.
You have been doing a lot of baking. I bet your house smells terrific. All the smells of the baked goods. I did not bake a thing. I got a sugar free cheese cake and the bomb cake so that took care of the baking. I really have not been doing a lot of baking anyway so no one will think anything of it. Ron wanted me to bake a pie but with all that is going on there is no way I will have time. He should have said something earlier. Men can drive you crazy.
I am glad that our moms are feeling better also. We will not have to worry about them over Easter. I am glad that mom will be here with us. She will not be home. She is going to stay until Monday or Tuesday and that is it. She is afraid to stay away from home any longer then that. It is hard to get use to. We use to take a trip every year just me an her, Once in awhile my oldest sister would go with us. But mostly it was just me and mom. Oh well time does change. I guess the older they get the less they will want to do. It is sad. I have to change the subject this is getting depressing. Sorry did not mean to do that.
What is the deal with them taking Tom off two weeks in a row. There was a lot going on, on that show. Blue Bloods is one of the best shows on tv right now. Well that and dwts. There is a movie about a frog that turns into a prince on tv right now. I have never seen this before. It is strange. Ron turned it on and then went into the bedroom to watch tv. I have no idea what he is watching. Probably do not want to know. It has to do with the news.
We did not have to deal with the plastic on the furniture. It is a good thing. There would be a bunch of kids stuck on the couch to this day. Well maybe not kids we are all older now. lol I like a lot of stuff also. It shows when you come into my house. I have stuff all over the place.
Well I better go. I still have a few things to do and we have to go and get my mom tomorrow. Seems like we are constantly doing something.

You are right about people missing the show. I do not understand why they do not have it to where we can see what was on the shows on QVC plus. You would think that they would want everyone to be able to see the items. They do have some shows that do not come on the regular qvc like Chics Night In. That is never on the regular channel. They have a lot of bugs that they need to fix on that channel. Hopefully they get the guide fixed on Dish. It is aggravating not to see the show when you want to.
I do not remember either of them having the plastic. Just my one grandma would cover things with sheets when we were there. It sounds like we were holy terrors but we were not at their house. They were just not kid friendly. My aunt finally had a bunch of kids and I do not know how they were treated because we did not go there by that time. She was the grandma that would give us all the same gift. She would give us clothes that were so ugly. Lucky me I got to wear them over and over and over. I got my three sisters hand me downs. So with the differences in our age they lasted for a long time. My sisters thought it was funny that I had to keep wearing that stuff. My oldest sister would put hers in a drawer or hide it in the closet. She could get away with it because she was the oldest. Well at least that is how I felt about it.lol That is interesting that most people go to there mom’s parents house and like it there. I guess there is some type of story about the dad’s parents.lol I really do not know that but it is interesting.
I ate half of a pepperoni stick today before I remembered. So we did better the rest of the day and had grilled cheese sandwiches for dinner. I do not know how we could forget about that. I hope that you did not have plans that did not include Greg.lol I do that once in awhile but now cannot do it. He is always home. Just wait until Greg retires.
How is your ankle doing? Has the brace helped it at all? How is Gregs ankle? You two are going to have to take it easy. It is hard when it is your foot or ankle that hurts. You have to stand on your feet, Would not want to be confined to a wheel chair.
Guess we have to get rid of the old so we can get the new things. If we didn’t we would run out of room. lol We all like to get new stuff to replace the old.

We are going to have to try the deli at our Schnucks. I think that theirs is better. I know that the bakery is as far as donuts and cookies. We have not ordered a cake from them or any special order things from them. I have ordered meat from the meat dept. though. They will fix those Cornish hens up for me with the stuffing so all we have to do is stick them in the oven and bake them. They also will special cut meat for you but will not tenderize chicken for us. So we did not buy it from the meat counter. I figured fi I have to tenderize it myself then just as well get it from the meat section in the refrigerators. So that is what we did this last time. We should have gone to the meat market. Oh well at least we know now that they will not do it.
I did write to Angel and told her about the guide not being right on dish. I am hoping that she will pass that on to the powers that be. I figured that she would know who to tell or she can e-mail back and tell me who to contact. This will effect her because it is her show. It is coming on at 9 instead of 10 our time. It happened to me last week and almost happened to me this time around but I caught it and recorded it. It is nice to record it in case there is something in the show that I cannot find the number and that way you can just go back and watch the show and find the item. Sometimes it is nice to get a second look. I do hope that they get it fixed though.
She use to have them. They were strange looking. I guess that back then women had no other choice but to wear them. They were a clear color though and not like the rubber boots though. At my dads parents she would have to take her shoes off because my grandma did not want her shoes to mark up her carpet. So she would have to take them off or she would put a rug down and my mom could not walk anywhere on the carpet just on the rug. We use to have to sit on the couch and not do anything. She did not like us to mess up her house. I do not think that we ever did because we were afraid to touch anything. We would have much rather have been outside.But at Christmas time we had to stay in the house. We never wanted to go there as kids. One year something happened and my dad never went back there for a holiday again.We would rather go to my moms parents house. We had other cousins there and we had a good time. She had things for us to do and we could move around. We just all had to pick up before we went home. Which grandparents did you like to go see the most? You may have had two sets that were equally as much fun to visit. I think most kids did.
If you are like us we pare down and then it looks like we have more space and we buy more things. Then we are right back where we were before. Danyielle is like Jenny and Adele’s daughter or grand cannot remember which she said. But the other two girls are like us. They like junk.

It was important to have our little purses so we could put our gloves in it. I guess that is why I remember the purse. It is funny how we remember the Easter outfits and not Christmas. I had never thought about that before. You are right about the coats and if there was snow we had to wear boots. So it was a mess when we would all have to put the boots on over our shoes. I wonder how our mothers did it.
You are lucky to have a bakery. The one we have at Wal Mart is not all that good. It is really a hit or miss thing. You never know if you will get something that is good or not. The deli is about the same. We ordered a veggie tray once for a baby shower and when I got it home we had to clean the veggies. It was a mess. If I had known that I would have made my own. I guess that has turned me against Wal mart.
Have you noticed that qvc plus is never right on our guide. Dish has really messed it up. I am thinking about calling them and asking why they cannot get the times right. For some reason for the last two weeks they have had Chics night in on the wrong time and I end up with some weird show taping. I cannot believe it. Well I got it right tonight. It is set up to tape it at 10. How strange is that.
I got the cake tonight and it looks really good. Ron thought so also. I also got the sides and they are smaller then the first ones that we got but that is okay. With all the other food we are having it will be fine. I have it on order delivery so by Christmas and Thanksgiving I will have enough. We really like their sides.
Well that is about all from here. I cannot wait to see dwts next Monday. It should be really good. It will be interesting to see if they are all still dancing as well.

You are making a lot of pastries. They sound so good. I got the coconut cake today and it really looks good. Ron told me to put it some where no one will get into it. Now I wonder who that would be there is only me and him here so.lol I put it in the freezer and will not get it out until Saturday so it will be thawed in time. I have to make it look like I baked it. lol Wish that I could find the eatable grass so I could put that around the cake. I am not sure that they sell it here. I will figure something out.
Sounds like Gary is really coming along. I know that you will be glad when the parade stops coming thru the house. It is nice that they are still helping with showers. That is the hardest thing to do in the home. They have all the special equipment in the hospital and makes it easier. It is nice that they are there to help him and you do not have to worry about hm slipping and falling or hurting his shoulder. It is nice that they are there for that. We will be praying that he gets well soon.
You should try the mac and cheese. They sell the other things with it and it is good also. It is not good when you really just want the mac and cheese. This came with dressing, sweet potatoes, mac and cheese and the broccoli rice casserole.
I will watch the Chew later tonight. After Ron goes to bed. Then I can watch it.He is such a pain if I watch something he does not want to watch. He will. make fun of it and make me mad. Which is what he wants to do he thinks that is funny. Some days I just ignore him and others I get upset with him. You wold think that I would learn after 45 years.
I am glad to hear that Tillie is feeling better. Mom is doing okay. She is excited about getting to see all the great grands. She does not see them that often.The older girls are getting busy and do not want to come around as much. They are busy with their friends. The other two live so far away that they do not come that often and Owen has to go with his dad so we have to plan things to go with his schedule. It really makes things hard.
Well that is about all from here. Have to answer some other mails and i am tired. It is hard to babysit a baby anymore. I am really out of practice. It is hard.

The dollar tree has some really cute things. I like to go in there and shop around. You never know what you will find. One year they had a lot of Easter bunnies to set on shelves. I bought a bunch of them and no one can tell the difference between them and the others that I have. So decorate with them all the time. The only ones that stand out are the ones that my mom made. The kids can always pick them out.
They have been having some really good food on that show. I watch them all the time. I do order from them they have good food and save me from having to cook a lot. I got the side dishes with the mac and cheese, sweet potatoes, dressing and broccoli rice casserole. Part of it we will have for Easter and the other we will have when it is just me and Ron. Have you ever tasted the Landes pretzels? They are really good. We got some of them at Christmas and they were gone before the day was over. We did not get them for Easter though because we got the bombe cake. Do not need that many sweets the kids will have all their Easter candy to eat. You will have to let us know how the meat balls taste. Never have tried them but they really looked good. Frankie Avalon had a lot of good food this time around also. I am not sure what they had on today but I watched the one yesterday. I have it recorded for today and will watch it when Ron goes to bed. He makes fun of everything they say and talks about the cost of everything. So I am better watching it by myself. I pay for the things off qvc so he does not have to worry about it.lol
We all watch DWTS. It was good last night. THey had some really good dancers on there last night. This is going to be a fun season. It is going to be hard to pick the one that you want to win. There are a couple of them that are not going to be on there for very long. Geraldo is one of them. He will probably go home next week unless a lot of the older set vote for him. He is in his 70’s so it should be interesting. I could not believe that Gary Bussey stayed on the show for as long as he did. This will be an interesting year.

Did you see dwts? That one guy that is completely deaf was really good. You expect to hear someone say just kidding. This is going to be a good season and hard to pick a winner. It did not seem right without Derek on the show. They have really good dancers though. I could not believe the scores that they gave though. I do not remember that many dancers getting those high scores on the first night. It was good to see Len Goodman on there again also. He mellowed a little but he sure does tell people if he does not like the way that they dance. Do you have a favorite yet? I cannot pick one there are so many that are good. I could not believe Kim and Jodi and the way those two girls could dance. They were both just little kids on tv and they have really changed. Would never have thought that they could dance.
How is Tillie feeling. I posted about Tille and you may not have seen it. It got lost in all the other posts that are on here. I hope that she is doing better and getting ready for Easter. have you started baking yet? I bet your house smells terrific with all that baking going on. Still waiting for our stuff to come that we got from qvc. My grands will be upset if that mac and cheese does not make it here before too long. They will go and storm UPS looking for it. I got that set from that company cannot remember their name now. They make good sides though. I will think of it when I get off of here. The cake is not here yet either. They said that they were shipped so hope that they come soon.
That is sad about Brussels. All the innocent people that get killed and they get away. They need to find a punishment that fits the crime. It is just sad that this keeps going on and on. There has to be something to get it stopped. If we all joined together and started to fight ISIS then we could win.It would have to be more then just the USA. It would have to be everyone together. I cannot believe that our presidents is over in Cuba watching a ball game. He needs to come home we had Americans that were killed over there. He needs to be here with the American people. It is just sad.
We have had so many things going on around here this week. I may never get ready for Easter. I will be glad when Easter is here and over with. Well not over with. It is nice when everyone is here and we have a nice time.. It is supposed to rain here for Easter so we need to find a place to hide the eggs. This should be interesting.

DWTS was really good. It is going to be hard to pick a winner this time around. Just about all of them got a good score for it being the first night. That guy that danced last did not do that good either. I do not think that he will be one of the first to go though. I thought that Kim and Jodie did a really good job. They both surprised me. The foot ball player also surprised me he was really good usually the foot ball players are not as good as the others. They are kind of clumsy. I wish that I could remember his name. It was not the one that danced last though. You have to give them credit they all try. That is a win right there.
We do not have any bakeries around here. For some reason they do not make it here. We do have bakeries in the grocery stores but that is about it. They are not that great though. Not like a regular bakery. The one at Schnucks is the best. Did not look there for a cake though.
Greg had to be the one to say that. We would never say that about our husbands. lol Your dinner sounds really good also. Sounds like you had a nice dinner and show. Maybe that is why Kylie became an actor. She use to go and see plays with me at the college and the high school. She really enjoyed it. She cannot sing though so that is one thing that she feels limits her. They do not sing in all plays though and I try to get her to understand that. It would be funny if she became big star.
I wonder if those guys will keep the concert going for him. That would be nice to do that in his memory. He would be looking down smiling if they did. It would be nice if they could get a group together and do it.
Oh my with all that sugar Piper is going to be wild. You and Greg may have to go over to their house and play dress up with her until late into the night.lol The ice cream bar sounds really nice. That is a good idea and that will keep the kids busy. I do remember getting all dressed up for Easter. Did you get the little white purse to go with the dress? We always got the hat and gloves and purse. So if we took our gloves off at church we would put them in our purse so we would not lose them. They do not dress up like that as much anymore though. We use to dress the girls up for Easter then they got to where they did not want to wear the dresses anymore. It was kind of sad.
We were surprised about our snow the other day. They did not predict it that time so it came.lol So it is better to just look out the window to see what the weather is going to be like that day. It is supposed to rain here on Sunday. I am not happy about that tough. I hope we will get to hide the eggs before it starts. They say if it rains on Easter Sunday it will rain every week-end for the next seven week ends. Hope that they are wrong.
That was terrible about Brussels. Those poor people. We all need to get together every country in the world and go after those people. That is the only way that it will stop. Find brave people that will tell where they are hiding. That will probably never happen though.

That would be fun to make one of the lamb cakes for the grand kids. Hope that you can find the pan again. Maybe your sil will still have it unless she passed it on to her daughter. The bunny cake would not be as hard it is just two round cake pans and something to make the ears. I could not do it but it would be easy for someone that is talented.lol
I am sorry to hear about the guitar player that died. That is so sad. He will be missed every Christmas when it is time for the concert. That is a large place for a funeral. Did they have anyone else that played at the concert or was it just him? That is kind of sad to lose such a great talent. There are not that many young people that are taking the place of the older group that has died and that is a shame also.
The show that you went to sounded really good. Well he is young and that is good that he is doing things like that. Jerry Lee Lewis was a character. When he played his guitar and in his real life. That is the first time that I have heard of a restaurant that serves boars ribs. That sounds like from the time of the three musketeers and back in those days. What did you have? Did you have the same as Greg or did you go for the normal meal? I think that it is great that restaurants are using the fresh veggies from the farmers. It makes it really nice it helps everyone in the community. That was a good idea when they started doing that. I wonder who started it. I am really in a question mood.
I like your idea for Easter. That would be so much better. I may mention that to the kids this week-end and see what they think. We could go out to eat and come here for the egg hunt and dessert and sandwiches if they get hungry again. That sure would cut down on the work and trying to plan a meal every year. We could just get a small ham, and bake it and have sandwiches with it and not all the other stuff that I usually make. That would be so nice. That was a good idea.
I think that we got your snow. It was not bad though it came and went the same day. It was really nice that way. So now our snow that Ron predicted is over with. We can relax. Hope that it went around you and does not come your way again.
