Hi Gail,
Yes we have been having some wild weather!!! And we’re getting even more this weekend. Lots of snow in the mts tho!! I think we ordered the same shirt but in
different colors. I got the apple red. I’ve always wanted a red & white checkered top or a red & white striped top for summer. With the royal blue Dream Jeannes I’ll
be patriotic for the 4th of July.
The only pharmacy that delivers is wayyyyy on the other side of town. It didn’t hurt me yesterday. Actually I started feeling better after getting out & getting some
fresh air. With all the wind & rain we had the pollen was pretty much cleared out. I was lucky since I got in between showers. It was sunny when I left.
Is there anything you can do about your Cardinal? Like place an old mirror out in an area away from the window. Or place a shade of some kind over the window? At
least until he gets the idea there isn’t a rival and goes else where? Just suggesting.
Don’t forget to set your clocks up Sat. night.
dianneHi Ladies,
I started this last night, then it disappeared, so I gave up & went to bed.
First of all, Adele, I knew what you meant. I could clearly see it was a typo. I’m not offended by a typo. I probably make
a lot of mistakes myself. No worries.
I don’t know if you heard, but we had a doozy of a storm yesterday (Wed.) & last night. The coast was battered with high
winds (hurricane force), and rain. The National Weather Service (NWS) put out high wind warnings the night before for the
coast & inland valleys. According to todays news wind gusts got up to 100 mph along the coast. Trees downed, power outages,
and a lot of damage from the winds. I heard the wind part of the night. Today was a lot better. Sun came out for awhile.
But we’re in for more storms. They showed the line of storms clear out to Hawaii. We call these Pineapple Express, & I’m not
talking the fruit. At least they’re broken up. Back in 96 we had a series of these storms come thru & we had some of the worst
flooding on record. It was awful.I was naughty & ordered some QF. I tried for one of the tops, but they were all out my size or sold out altogether. sigh. I did order
a pair of royal blue straight leg DreamJeannes, & a gingham shirt from D &co. The only way I could do it was the 5 easy pays.
I can’t afford it otherwise.
I have another awful cold. A nurse practitioner came to my apt, thru my health insurance, & she thinks it’s a bad case of allergies.
So she called in some prescriptions for me. I couldn’t get anyone to go for me so I had to bundle up & go get em myself. It wasn’t
that cold & I needed the fresh air. lol. All that wind & rain cleared out the tree pollen.
Well, that’s all for tonight.
Take care.
dianneHi Gail,
Yeah, we don’t have those fire flies, and we don’t have Cardinals either. I wish we did. I’ve never seen one in person. I’ll bet they’re beautiful.
I’ve had a lot of pen pals over the years. Not only UK but around this country. Now I have a different type of pen pals.
Did you see the QF show earlier today? It was on 1-3pm your time. they had so many cute tops, I NEED to win a lottery!!!! sigh.Feels like I’ve caught another cold. With what I call “weather whiplash”, warm one day, cool the next, I’m not surprised.
Well, that’s all I have for now.
talk to ya later.
dianneHi Adele,
It’s a good thing we don’t have a Christmas Tree here. I’d be real trouble if we did!!! I LOVE to decorate for the holidays & I’d go NUTS in a store like that!!!
Well, it’s raining as I write. It’s gonna be wet all week they say. I feel like I’m catching a cold at the moment. All this “weather whiplash” as I call it, warm one
day then back to chilly weather, it’s no wonder.
Thank you for the prayers. We can use all we can get. At least we don’t have tornadoes like the Mid West. We do see funnel clouds from time to time, usually
out in rural areas. Very rarely do they hit in down town areas. We get a lot of downed trees due to over saturated ground.
Did you see the QF show today? It was on from 1pm to 3 pm your time. I NEED to win a lottery!! They had so many cute things I wanted but can’t afford. sigh.Well that’s all I have for now.
Have a good evening
dianneHi Ladies,
I’m on here pretty late for you guys. For those who can’t see my kitty, just go to my QF page & she’ll be my cover & profile pic. If you can’t get to it, I’ll try to
send another pic of her. Let me know. She’s gotten over her tantrum & is sitting here on the sofa with me.
Thanks for clarifying Mother’s day for me. That’s great there’s a fellow UK Quacker on board with us. I have a pen pal in York, UK. I’ve had pen pals from the UK since the
80s. I think one has passed on. I haven’t heard from her in quite some time. She had no family left so I have no way of finding out.
Collen that’s too bad about the top not being what you thought it’d be. I had that happen not long ago. I’d ordered a top from D&Co. & it wasn’t what it looked like on the TV. And it was
waaaay too big, eventho I ordered my normal size. I hate it when that happens.Do any of you have a Dollar Tree in your town? It’s my Favorite store!!!! They always have the cutest holiday decorations. And you don’t have to pay a fortune for it. Now that I can’t get to a MIchael’s craft store, I turned to the Dollar Tree. Micheals is where I got all my artificial flowers. Of course I was working back then. Now it’s $ Tree. I just found blue pansies there.
Never saw them before.
Well, that’s it for now.
talk to ya later.
dianneHi Colleen,
Mother’s day? Did I miss something? I thought it was in May. Lol. Right now we’re having heavy down pours then they pass & move on. It isn’t steady.
Unlike winter storms that come in & park, spring storms come in & go out quickly..
Jewell got groomed today. There’s a grooming company that comes to you. It’s called Wash N Roll pet grooming. I schedule her whenever they’ll be
in my area. They do a great job. They give her a lion cut, clip her claws, clean her ears & give her a bath, and a spritz to top it off. She’s not real happy
with me at first, but she gets over it. I don’t like doing it during the cold weather, but she gets so matted that I had to. I do it in the warmer weather, esp
during the summer.
Thank you for the compliment. She is a beautiful cat.Don’t forget next weekend we spring ahead with Daylight savings time. My how time flies.
I see there’s a QF show on tonight.
That’s all for now
Have a great week.
dianneHI Girls,
Well it’s late where you are, but I’ll go ahead & tell ya about myself for those don’t know me yet.I’m in my 60’s, retired/disabled. I live in Oregon, a long way from all of you. I’ve lived here all my life. I was born in Portland, where I reside at the moment. I grew up
in a small town & lived down there most of my life. We didn’t live on a farm, but was outside the city limits. When I see produce labeled “organic”, I laugh, cuz I grew
up with a father who always put in a large garden every year. We just went out the back door to the garden. And yes, we ate straight out of the garden. We also drank
water from the hose. And I’m STILL alive to tell the story.
I guess that’s where I get my love of flowers & gardening. I used to have pots of roses, about 50 different varieties, but with moving & I’m unable to take care of them,
I had to let them go. I used to plant all annuals, petunias, marigolds (mosquitos HATE them!!!), geraniums, and anything that struck my fancy. So, since I had to give up the real
flowers, I now have a florist shop full of artificial flowers. Allergy free, no water, no dead heading, lol.
I have a kitty cat, Jewell. She’s a rescue kitty, she’s a senior, yrs old. She’s getting groomed tomorrow (don’t tell her tho). She’s Persian/Himalayan & is SPOILD Rotten!!!!
I collect Thomas Kinkade art. I have several of his paintings. (not the oils). I love his cottage paintings. I could envision myself walking into many of his pictures. I love old
Victorian homes, too.
I’ve been a quacker since the late 90s. That’s when I discovered QVC, QF, & Thomas Kinkade. I don’t get as much as I used to. Since I’m on a fixed income now, I have to
be selective. Usually several easy pays is the only way I can do it. They’ve had several tops I’d love to have, kitties, flowers, sets of 2.Oh, I’m single, so I don’t have kids or grand kids (makes sense) lol. Just my fur baby.
Right now it’s soggy out here. Lots of rain coming in. We broke all records for rainfall in Dec. & Jan. Feb. was the warmest on record. Go figure. There was some flooding
in Dec., but hopefully there won’t be anymore. We were right behind Ca. as far as drought goes last year. It was the hottest/driest summers on record last year. We’ve made up
for it now. We could’ve used that snow you guys got last yr & some of this yr!!
I live about 90 minutes from the Oregon coast, & about 2 hrs from the ski resorts on Mt. Hood. I don’t ski, but I LOVE the beach!!!! If I could I’d live on a tropical island somewhere.
I don’t travel anymore, so it’s only in my dreams. sigh.
Well, now that I’ve bored all of you to death I’ll sign off for now.
Have a great Sunday & I’ll talk to ya tomorrow. Lord Willing.
dianneHi ladies,
Its the middle of.the night where you are, butI thought I’d drop in&say Hi. I finally figured out how to get here. Now the test will come tomorrow to see if I can do it again. Lol. I’m gonna have to do this on the computer cuz I can barely see what I’m writing.
Am watching the Q Gardenig Made with Phillip Watson & Albany. He could come & fix my garden anytime. (If I had one). Lol. I Love flowers, esp roses!!! I miss not having a flower garden.
Good night. Talk toya later.
