I’m not sure what just happened. My post was posted before I was finished. I have no idea what I did. I didn’t hit submit I know that.
Sue, I’m glad to hear your neighbors are checking in on you & helping you while you’re not feeling well.
Adele, I sent you a pic of what I think your kitchen would look like when you’re baking.Well, I better get off here before it screws up again.
take care & have a great weekend.

Not much going on. Just the same ole stuff. I’m running my dvds of I Love Lucy tonight. Nothing on tv tonight, so I put them on. We had another nice day. Cloudy & cool. Tomorrow will be the last of it, as the heat is coming back in full force.
Sue, we would gladly(!!!!) trade some of that rain out there for our sunny hot days that are coming. It sure would help put out those fires in Ca. & here in Ore.in reply to: Quacker Talk-August 2018 #85403Hi Ladies,
Well, it happened again. I was almost done with a post & it disappeared on me. We woke up to clouds & almost sprinkles. I almost had to turn on the heat but I didn’t. Just closed the windows. But they say by this time next week we’ll be in the upper 90s, maybe 100. Not looking forward to that at all.
Hallie & her husband took me to lunch today. We went to the DQ. I haven’t been to one in decades. I really enjoyed it. I had the peanut buster parfait for a treat. It was sooooo good!
Adele, it doesn’t sound good for Winnie. Pneumonia on top of everything else? I’m glad they put off the surgery. I don’t think she’d have made it.
I’ve never of crystals in the ear before. I had water behind the eardrum yrs ago & it was making me dizzy. They did all kinds of tests, but couldn’t figure out what was causing it. I was catching a cold so I started taking Dimetapp to stop the nasal drip & in a couple of days the dizziness stopped altogether. My Dr. said the cold med dried up whatever was making me dizzy. The antihistamine (?) in it.
I have meds in the cupboard that I’m supposed to take, but they make me dizzy. I told the Dr about it & he cut the dose down to bed time. Nearly all of them have the warning on the bottle warning of dizziness, not to drive or operate machinery. I don’t have to worry about that.
Well, I better go before I lose it again.
ddin reply to: Quacker Talk-August 2018 #85362Ladies,
I thought I wrote my post on this page. Turns out it’s back in July.
Sue, I’m sorry to hear you were in the ER today. That must’ve been scary to feel so dizzy. I hope it doesn’t last long. Take care & don’t do anything for awhile. I’ll be praying for you.
ddin reply to: Quacker Talk-July 2018 #85354Hi Ladies,
Ahhhhhhhh, what a relief it is!!!! Our heatwave is over. We woke up to cloudy skies & much cooler temps. I could feel the cool air coming in off the Pacific late last night, so I knew it was over. It blew out the smoky haze, too. I didn’t have to run the AC at all. I just had the windows open & it was wonderful. I just wish I could bottle it up & send it out to all of you!!! I could make a fortune if I could sell it to all of you who need this mild weather. July was a very dry/hot month they say, but what do they expect? We could see some rain next week, but I’m not holding my breath.
I’ve been watching the CIJ finale all day. I did order the Moose munch TSV. Since it’s made in Oregon, I thought I’d get some. Last Christmas I saw it in the local grocery store, & it was $7 a box. And they didn’t have as many flavors either. Only 3 or 4 if I remember right.
Adele, I’m so very sorry to hear about Winnie. If she’s not able to walk how are the bones breaking around the hip replacement? It doesn’t sound good at all. If the drs are consulting with the family that doesn’t sound good either. Sending prayers for her.
We didn’t start school till after Labor day weekend. Starting in August doesn’t seem right. Esp. mid Aug. That’s when some people take their vacations, just before school restarts. And I don’t remember having all those days off. We had holiday vacations, etc. but not so many days off for teacher stuff. And we never heard of snow days. I didn’t like those camo shirts either. I’m not too crazy about the pattern for clothing. Backpacks maybe, but that’s about all.
My tree arrived today. It’s gorgeous. I took a couple pics of it. I didn’t plug it in yet. I took the pics of it in front of some of my tropical pics. I’m glad I got it. I can’t wait to see the silver one. I’ll take pics of it lit up when I get back to normal & don’t have a mess.
Well, I better get off here before I lose it again.
take care.
ddthe pic of the sky is 5 am one morning. I face the East so I get the sunrise, sometimes I see it but most of the time I don’t.
in reply to: Quacker Talk-July 2018 #85269Hi Ladies,
I had to sign back in again. I hope everyone is fine. I’m doing okay. It got hot but it isn’t supposed to last long. By Wed. it’s supposed to be more normal. Not much going on except for the heat. The smoke they said was coming is more of a haze than a cloud of smoke. At sunset it was a gorgeous sky. I can’t smell it. Those living further south, closer to the Ca. border are having a hard time of it. Once the wind changes coming in off the Pacific it’ll push the smoke out. My friend who has a beach house says it’s in the low 60s over there. I asked her to Pleeeeeeeeeeeeease send some of it over here.
Adele, I hope your friend is doing better. Saying prayers for her. I saw the pics of Azien on FB today. Tooooo cute!!!!I got a notice that my tree was shipped out. I can’t wait to see what it’s gonna look like in here.
Well, that’s all I have tonight.
take care & enjoy the finale of CIJ today. I’ll have it on all day.
ddin reply to: Quacker Talk-July 2018 #85156Hi Ladies,
I checked out Patrick’s FB page for the pics of Portland, but at first all I saw was pics of food & drink. It wasn’t until I scrolled down that I saw the pics. He took a lot of good pics. He got lucky with the sunny weather. He needs to come back there’s more to see. Sounds like he had a great time while he was here.
Adele, those hydrangea trees are sure pretty. Just wait till next yr, they should be even bigger with more blooms on em. I love flowers & I miss not being able to have any here. I hope & pray Winnie pulls thru. It’s hard to lose close friends.
Hey Colleen, I’ll take a few of those tomatoes! If only we lived closer!!
They keep saying we’re supposed to get up to 100 tomorrow, but this morning we woke up to cloudy skies & cooler temps. They weren’t looking for that.
I hope they’re wrong again.
I’m gonna be naughty again, & put up my summer pics on the walls. I took em down for the spraying but they don’t spray in the kitchen. I’m sick of looking at the ugly walls.
I forgot to say, I commented on Patrick’s pics & he replied back. I said I live in Portland & was glad he enjoyed his trip out here. Go to FB & check it out.Jewell is getting antsy about going back to the bedroom. I find her in there snooping around, as if to say, when are we gonna move back in??
Well, I’m gonna have a snack of pretzels & Nutella. Have you ever tried it? I love it!!
take care.
ddin reply to: Quacker Talk-July 2018 #85125Hi Ladies,
Not much going on out here. Just a lot of heat. Now we’re supposed to get smoky haze from all those fires in S. Oregon & N. Ca. on Sunday to go along with the 100 degree temps on Sunday & Monday. They’ve put out an alert for the excessive heat & bad air quality. I won’t be going out for the next few days.
Yes, I’ll take pics of the trees when I get them. I won’t get the silver one until Nov.,tho. It’s on back order. I can’t wait to get the blue one tho. I can keep it out all year.
I forgot to say the bug man put the bed back for me. It was back in its spot when I got back. That was nice of him to do that. I haven’t heard back yet if he’s coming back or not.
Well, that’s all I have for tonight.Have a great weekend!!

in reply to: Quacker Talk-July 2018 #85059Hi Ladies,
IT’s about time I got on here & let ya know how I am. I;m fine, sort of. I’m not sick, just heartsick. No plans have been made yet for my brother. I don’t know what the hold up is, but I should be hearing something soon. It was so sudden no one was prepared for it. Emotionally or financially.
The bug man came back this week & he didn’t spray so maybe I’ll be off the hook. I haven’t seen anymore, so I hope he got em all the first time.Say, I have a grrrrrrrrrrreat idea. You guys who are getting so much rain, we’ll trade ya our 90 degree temps & loooow humidity for some of that rain, to put out all the fires out here!!! And cool off!! We’re in for hotter temps this weekend, Sunday is supposed to be 100!! By mid week, we’ll be back into the 80s, more normal for us.
Adele, I’m sorry to hear about your friend. I can’t imagine having her family around would cause her anxiety. Seems to me it’d be the other way aroundge. She shouldn’t be alone at this time. She needs friends & family close by. Maybe not all at the same time, but stagger shifts. I wonder if it’s staph infection.I was thinking about you putting on a life jacket to get into the pool, & have a floatation device in the pool for you to hold onto. They must have some kind of floatation devices for boaters, etc.
I’m getting the big stare down from furball . She sits close by & watches me till I get up & get her something to eat, even tho she just ate a little while ago.
Talk about being spoiled!!
I was naughty this week. I ordered the VPH tree, in two colors. I back ordered the silver (shipping in Nov.), & the icy blue one for now. It looks like it would go with my tropical theme for right now.
I went out to see Critt today. He wanted me to bring him some clothes, etc. He had a key made up for me to get into his apt, with consent
of management. He says he’ll be in rehab for 4-6 weeks. He’s lost some weight, which is a good thing. He needs to lose a lot. He has an enlarged heart
& the Dr. wants him to lose a lot of weight.Do any of you remember the Flintstones from the 60s? I’ve been playing my DVDs from my collection. With everything that’s been going on I need some relief of some kind. You probably think I’ve reverted back to my childhood, sometimes that isn’t such a bad thing. I love the old cartoons!!!
Well, I better get off here before it disappears.
Take care
