Hi Ladies,
How’s everyone? Fine, I hope. Not much going on here. We were socked in with heavy fog this morning but it cleared out this afternoon. It’s supposed to be nice for the first day of spring, but later in the week it’s going to get wintery again. Just because the calendar says it’s spring doesn’t mean we’ll be warm.
I gotta clear up something.. Kay wasn’t in the hospital all that time. She went to the hospital in Jan. was released to a care facility, ended up with pneumonia in both lungs while there, went back to the hospital for the pneumonia, then was released again to a different care facility that she liked way better!! I’m sorry if I mislead you guys.
Adele, I understand all too well about the elderly. They can be really stubborn. I took care of elderly ladies, & some could be challenges at times.
My cold is getting better, but quick enough.

I forgot, the 3 pics of the trees, is from the Gorge fire. The local newspaper took aerial pics I told ya about. The snow really shows it up.

Hi Ladies,
Kay came home today. She’s glad to be back home. I hope everyone had a wonderful St. Patrick’s Day. I didn’t do anything special, I did wear my green flannel jammies. Of all days I had to catch a cold. No fever, just a stuffed up nose, etc. Makes me think I may have caught it after seeing the cardiologist.
Which brings me to this. I’ll be having a catheterization next week to see what’s going on in there. Instead of going through the groin, they’ll be doing it through the artery in my wrist. I don’t think I’ll be put under for it. Just enough to relax me enough so they can do it. If they need to put any stents in he’ll
keep me overnight to monitor it. If it all goes well, I could be home later that day. If I’m kept overnight Jewell will go over to Critt’s. she won’t be happy I’m sure. It’s good to have someone who will look after her for times like this. He loves & adores her so that helps.

Adele, I hope your dizziness goes away. do you have a headache with it? That could be warnings of a stroke or something. I’d head to the Dr. if I were you. Doesn’t hurt to have it checked out. Could be high blood pressure, too. I hope it isn’t serious!!
Well, I’m heading off to bed now. It’s early for me, but the more rest I get the better I’ll feel, I hope.

Hi Ladies,
Here’s an update, the people who had to evacuate due to that fire have returned to their homes, if they had one to go back to. the Red Cross is helping those who lost their homes. They also handed out cleaning supplies to help those going back to clean up after the fire. there was a lot of soot, & all kinds of gunk all over their cars, homes, garden areas. It’s going to be interesting to see what happens with their gardens this summer.

Adele, I’m so sorry about your weather woes out there. I heard #4 could hit early next week. I wish I could do more to help out. Maybe you should move out here. I know I complain ALOT but in comparison ours is mild. I don’t know how we’d react to that much snow all at one time!! We freak out over a couple inches or so. We had mild winter this yr. It’s that darn jet stream that’s doing it. It’s sending everything we should be getting up & over the mid West & east of the Rockies. Warmer weather is coming, I promise. It HAS to be coming!!!
I have an appointment with my cardiologist tomorrow afternoon. I haven’t seen him in quite awhile.

Hi again ladies,
I’m glad I didn’t step on anyone’s toes. IT just seems like everyday there’s more chaos with him. As for the wall, it reminds me of the Berlin wall of the 60s, & we know what happened there. It split families, was run by Russia, I can’t imagine what it must’ve been like to live there back then. I don’t see how building a wall will solve anything. The drug cartels are already here in this country. It’s in the news every night about big drug busts around here. If they want to get in they’ll find a way to get here. I think it’s a big waste of $$. And this ‘tweeting’ sounds like something out of a cartoon. Something Tweety bird would do in the cartoons. lol

Adele, I hope you’ll be able to watch “This Is Us” tonight. It’s the last one of this season. boo-hoo.

Adele, I hope you didn’t lose your power. That would be awful!!
Here’s an update to the fire. Last night at 9:45 the authorities put out another evacuation alert to surrounding neighborhoods because of particulates in the air from the fire. They said this is actually worse than the forest fire from last summer. Reason is cars have lots of chemicals, plastics, gas (of course), rubber from the tires, all sorts of things. It affected 2-4,000 people. They don’t know when they’ll be able to go back yet. Rain has returned along with winds from a different direction, so that should clear out the air. as far as I know it didn’t reach over here where I am.

Gail, those are some really good ideas you have for the wedding reception. that way no one feels left out.

I’m probably gonna step on toes, but with what’s coming from the news, its just too much. It sounds like someone thinks he’s still doing a reality show on TV. “You’re fired”, I’ve never heard of any leader of this country ‘fire’ so many of his staff in my whole life. I’m of the opinion he’s more like a dictator than leader of this country. I’m sorry, it’s out of control.
I think the rescue dog show was on the new Hallmark channel. I wasn’t able to get it.

Hi Ladies,
I see someone has been taking lessons from Valerie, lol. cute ideas. I use a Mason jar for my fall bouquets. I guess it reminds me of when my mom would can peaches, or pears every fall.
I’m sorry to hear about the Nor’easter coming. I’ve been praying it’d turn & go out to sea before it hit land. I hope the electricity stays on. not a good time to be without it.
There was a huge fire on the other side of town today. It was at a car wrecking place. The plume could be seen for miles away. I could see it easily. It destroyed a duplex, & an apartment complex, putting several families out of a home. It took almost all day to get the fire out. Some schools were evacuated, as well as homes in the area. They don’t know how it was started yet.
Is anyone suffering from ‘jet lag’ from the weekend? I haven’t recovered yet.
I totally agree with you Gail, about pets being beneficial to the elderly & those suffering from life threatening diseases. there was a post on FB the other day about hospitals allowing pets in for the owners with serious illnesses. They were asking if you agree, & I said of course.

Hi Ladies,
I’m dead tired so this will be short. Diane texted me after church this morning saying she was going for a drive with no planned destination. so I went & we ended up going back up to the gorge where that fire was. the local paper had taken an aerial tour of it & you could really see the burned out areas. There’s still snow up there & it really showed it off. On our way home we stopped off at Multnomah Falls which is sort of open. The parking lot was full, but I hopped out & took a couple pics. they’re a bit lopsided since the sun was in my eyes & I couldn’t really see what I was doing. Just point & shoot. Hiking up there isn’t allowed just yet due to the damage. the weather was gorgeous this weekend. (sorry).
That pic was of sunrise, not a sunset. My windows face the East so any pics like that are of the sunrise, if I’m up early enough. I’m told I have a $200,000 view of Portland. People would pay a lot of $$$ for the view I have.
We don’t get the Hallmark Drama channel either. I see the ads for it, but unless you get another package for more $ you don’t get it. that’s Comcast/Xfinity for ya.
I’m sorry you so ill the other day, Adele. that sucks. I thought for sure that heart attack would be a wake up call for Gary. I guess not.
