Hi Ladies,
Adele, I’m sorry to hear Gary is being stubborn & won’t comply with Dr.’s orders. I thought for sure this scare would help him realize life is fleeting & you never know when your number’s up. It makes it soo much harder on you. Doesn’t he realize it’s making it harder on you? Or doesn’t he care? Taking walks is good exercise. It helps the heart, gets the blood flowing, fresh air is good, too. He doesn’t have to be an athlete. What I do is walk to the store & when I get there, I make sure I walk all over the store. Same thing when I go to Wally’s. It’s probably a good thing I’m on foot as it’s good for me. I realize you have a ton of snow on the ground right now, but when it’s gone you guys should take walks around town.
I ordered the 8greens to see if it works for me. I do eat veggies, but not as much as I probably should. Right now asparagus are plentiful & I buy up as much as I can. If I had a bigger freezer I’d freeze up a bunch. I also love spinach, but I HATE broccoli!!!!! I had to cook it every single day for the last lady I took care of. Every night she had to have carrots, & broccoli for dinner.
It sounds like we’re in for some drier weather. I hope the same for you. I’m praying this other storm goes out to sea. Spring is coming!! I hope you got warmed up today. It’s miserable to be cold!! I can’t sleep if my hands or feet are cold.

Hi Ladies,
I hope everyone is safe & comfy. I’ve seen pics from the Weather channel, & the news of the Nor’easter. and now they’re saying another one could hit over the weekend. what in the world is going on. We had a wet & blustery day here today.
Did you hear the blooper on the Q tonight? It happened on Shawn’s hr show with the TSV. they took a phone call from a guy & he was going on & on about it & dropped the f bomb mid sentence. It went dead silent, Shawn & her guest went into shock, did I. She apologized & carried on. It was awkward obviously. I remember one time Leah was on with a lady & the lady got into a fight with her husband on air.

I got an air fryer today. they were clearing em out & had em on sale & is the smaller one of all they’ve had on. I got it in turquoise so it looks happy in the kitchen. Can’t wait to try it out. there won’t be ITKWD on Sunday, it’s an all day gardening day on the q. He’s in Chicago with MCM, & Stacy at the kitchen & housewares home show.
Did anyone order the Martha S. TSV yesterday? they looked awfully good, but they didn’t look like they’d last very long. So instead I ordered the 8Greens today instead. Maybe that will help me get healthier. lol
Adele, I never heard of cardio rehab. Is it something new? How is Gary doing? Do you have an air fryer? Maybe you should invest in one since you don’t need to use a lot of oil.
I haven’t read all the posts so if I don’t answer them you’ll know why.
I talked to Kay today & she hopes to be coming home the end of next week. It’ll depend on how her therapists think she’s come along. If she’s ready to live alone, with no one there to help her.

Hi Ladies,
Sue, you’re not alone. I, too, am alone. No husband, boyfriend, family is scattered, no children. Don’t ever feel like you’re all alone, you have us!!! Sometimes I do get lonely, then I hear on the news how a woman gets murdered by an ex. then I’m really glad I’m alone. I’ve been unattached most of my life, so I’ve accepted it. I can go where I want, when I want to, I don’t have to answer to someone.

Adele, I hope the weather there has calmed down by now. I’m sorry about the tree, altho I’m glad it didn’t hit your house, or damage the pool. I hope Gary accepts his ‘new’ life. It won’t be easy but he needs to get used to it. Your menu sounded wonderful. I’ll eat it if he doesn’t, lol.
Our weather was nice & mild this weekend. It sounds like spring will be paying a short visit this week. the temps are getting warmer. Yayyyy! Did anyone watch the Oscars? I flipped over towards the end, but didn’t watch the whole thing.. So phony.
Today is easy pay day. Everything is 5 pay or better. I got a pair of QF shorts, & straight leg dream Jeannes.

Hi Ladies,
I talked to Kay earlier today & she’s in a new facility & she sounds a lot better. She’s a lot happier at this new place. She has her own private room, & says the food there is Much better. Said there’s no comparison. She seems more optimistic & her voice sounds so much better. So here’s hoping she’ll be back sooner than later. As she said she’s not starting from ground zero this time around.

I was naughty today. I ordered 3 items from Issac M. I got a pair of the TSV in pool green, 2 T-shirts in pool green, & citron(yellow). I’ve never tried IM before so it’ll be interesting. Have any of you tried Issac M before?
I guess I better clear up my heart issue. I was born with a hole in my left ventrical. Since open heart surgery didn’t come about until several yrs later, it wasn’t an option for me at that time, so said the Dr.s They said I’d never make it thru the surgery. So it wasn’t until I was 32 I decided I was ready to have it. On May 12th, 1982 I had it done. They had to patch up the hole with a dacron patch. The hole was bigger than they thought it was.
From that day on I was healthier than I had ever been or thought I could be. Because they break the sternum bone & spread the rib cage to get to the heart it took a long time to heal. It was about 3 or 4 months before I was completely healed. there are some funny stories to go along with this but I won’t get into it now.
I didn’t need to see any cardiologist until recently. It wasn’t until 2008 that I was diagnosed with congestive heart failure that I see a cardiologist on a regular basis. He put me on blood pressure, cholesterol, other meds for the heart. He put a couple stents in a couple of the arteries to make sure they didn’t become blocked. I take Plavix & a baby aspirin for that.
So Adele, if Gary tires easily don’t be overly concerned, it’s normal. He’ll have to take it slow for awhile. He won’t like it but that’s the way it will be for awhile. I didn’t want to say that dirty word, exercise, as I wasn’t sure what the Dr. would tell him. Stents aren’t as drastic as open heart surgery, but if he isn’t careful it could lead to open heart surgery. David Letterman had quadruple bi-pass several yrs ago, to open up several of his arteries.
Well, I guess I’ve bored all of you enough.

Hi Ladies,
First of all, Adele, I’m so sorry to hear about Gary having a heart attack. I hope he’s better now. I agree with Barbara that he HAS to follow his Dr.s orders about diet & taking better care of himself. Even if it means no more hot dogs! They are NOT good for you. He’ll have to cut out salt, (sodium), butter, & take his meds, no matter what!! More fruits & fresh veggies. After my open heart surgery it took me quite awhile to get back to normal. That was back when I was in my 30s. It’ll be a slow recovery I’m sure. I’ll keep you guys in my prayers.
I don’t blame you for being cranky. I would be too. I hope your tummy issues are all better now. You might want to try smoothies for Gary. Blending apples, bananas, oranges, & some veggies in it so he gets them that way. Can’t hurt to try.
I guess I passed my inspection today. I usually get a copy of the report, but no one got a copy. There were a couple things that needed fixing that I didn’t know about, but that won’t count against me (I hope).
I hear there’s a really bad storm heading for the East coast. it was mild here today but by late afternoon, it was stormy. I heard the snow level could be dropping down again. Down to the foothills around here. Means lots of snow on the mts. Making up for lost time. Feb. started out warm, but ended colder than normal, go figure.
I talked to Kay yesterday, & she’s still in the hospital with pneumonia. she’s not sure when she’ll be released. but she does know she’ll be going to a different care facility to get her strength back. Right now she can barely get to the end of the bed. Her heart rate got up to 120-130, so they got to get that down also. I’m beginning to wonder if she’ll ever get back to where she can live alone.
Are any of you going to watch the Oscars Sunday night? I quit watching yrs ago.. they’re too political now.

Hi Ladies,
I’ve been getting ready for our annual housekeeping inspection on Thurs. I thought it was Fri, so it was a good thing I checked the notice again. They’re in here all of 5 minutes, if that. they know I keep a clean house. But this is a different group so who knows.
I saw a couple of kids from Parkland, Fl. on Anderson Cooper last night, & they were very good. The young man really put his feelings out there. He’s mad as h— about how the politicians won’t do anything. He looked right into the camera & said point blank that they don’t intend on doing anything. He said when they went to the Fl. capital last week they were scheduled to meet with their reps, but only one Republican showed up. It’s the republicans who are demanding the sheriff removed, when it’s THEM that should be removed!!! I heard today reporters Finally saying what I said yesterday, that unless he committed a crime there was nothing the police could do.
I thought they’d do something after SandyHook, or when Gabbie Giffords was shot, or Las Vegas, but no. I don’t know what it’s gonna take. Hindsight is always 20-20 after these kinds of things happen. So many ‘if only’s’. But things never change. Did you know that since that day there has been over 500 school threats, even around here. that was on the news tonight. It never stops.
We’re in for a soggy Wed. & lots of snow in the mts.

Hi Ladies,
Adele I hope you were able to get that tooth taken out today, & that you’re feeling a lot better now. I see there’s a QF show tomorrow afternoon ET.

It’s still pretty cold out here, but the snow is staying up in the mts where it belongs. They’re saying Mt. Hood has seen 7 ft of snow in the past week, & more on the way. As long as it stays up there it’s fine. I hope you’re all safe!! I heard about some bad storms in Kentucky & Tenn.. I’m always struck by how much damage those tornadoes leave behind, as well as the flooding.

I talked to Kay today & she was back in the hospital like she wanted. she thought the care facility wouldn’t let her go. But she talked to another registered nurse & she made the arrangements for Kay. The nurse told her it was her right if she wanted to go back to the hospital. Anyway, she’ll be going to a different care facility, (she hates the one she was in), for a few days till her PTs think she’s able to be alone. And maybe put on some weight.

Hi Adele,
I’m sorry to hear about your sleepless night. Maybe the muscle relaxer would help you sleep. They always knock me out. I don’t take them very often unless the Dr. prescribes em.
I watched ITKWD & saw Tara & her new baker, that sold out. I went back to the list I told ya about & it had a lot of gardening items so I’m thinking someone goofed up.
I hear there’s a campaign to get that sheriff to resign. As I was watching the shooting I heard the shooter had already left the bldg by the time the cops got there. That he had strolled out with the evacuating students, & as I watched I was wondering where the SWAT team was. I didn’t see them as they were broadcasting the events. Everybody’s up in arms that nothing was done before hand. But I’m not sure they could do anything. All I’ve heard is the police can’t do anything until a crime is committed. A good defense attorney would probably get him off anyway. Warning signs are one thing, actually committing a crime is another. They can’t arrest someone unless someone presses charges. And those pieces of paper aren’t worth the paper they’re written on, restraining orders, I mean.
I don’t mean to sound like I’m defending that monster, I’m just not sure what could’ve been done. there’s been so many shootings & nothing was ever done to prevent them either. they still go on & on, yet nothing’s ever done to stop them. I think they want a scape goat & the sheriff is an easy target, instead of doing something about those guns of war!!! If you ask me those people who want his head on a platter should look at themselves & see what they did wrong.
There are businesses here that are pulling away from the NRA. Not sure if it’ll do any good.
Well, I better get off here before I say something I shouldn’t say.

Hi Adele,
I’m sorry to hear you’re in a lot of pain from your tooth. The gremlins always seem to hit on the weekend. I hope you can get to the orthodontist soon. I was able to get out to the store today. the snow they predicted didn’t materialize last night so they cancelled the winter storm advisory last night. It was in the 40s today & there wasn’t any precipitation. It wasn’t balmy by any means but it sure was warmer!
I checked David’s show for tomorrow, but didn’t see any Temptations pictured, which seems odd since she said she’d be back Wed. night. However I did see a lot of outdoor things in his show. I know it’s a gardening day all day. So, it’ll be interesting to see. I know there are people who get real upset when he has Bose or other appliances on his show. What they don’t understand is that they are under contract to air these things.
I’m slowly getting my Easter things out. Maybe it’s too soon, but it’ll be here before we know it. Is it too soon?
