Hi Ladies,
Well, I was in the middle of a post & it disappeared. I don’t know how Kay is right now. She won’t answer her phone so I haven’t been able to talk to her. Her sister works so I don’t hear much from her during the week. Last I heard she’ll be in the rehab center for a couple more weeks. She’s lost a lot of weight. and they need to get her to where she can get around by herself, & regain her strength. she weighs in at 94 lbs. If I weighed in at that much I’d look like skin over bones, anorexic. but she’s short & petite.
Barbara, I’m so sorry you’re in so much pain. the best thing I can tell ya is to give it over to the Lord & let Him deal with it as ONLY He can. It won’t be easy to do, but it works.
It appears our winter is long gone. We’re in for warmer temps over the next few days. I hope the ground hog doesn’t see his shadow on Friday. that means an early spring, doesn’t it? I get it mixed up.
I didn’t listen to the speech the other night, I never do. It’s a waste of air time in my opinion. I don’t like politics anyway. I thought maybe things would change for the better, but alas I was wrong. When he started sounding like a dictator, that was it for me.
Any plans for Valentines Day? Obviously I don’t have any since I don’t have a valentine. Well, I do but she has 4 legs & lots of fur. she wouldn’t know or care. LOL
Well, I better close before I lose this one again.

I’m sooo very sorry for your pain. When I read your post I had tears in my eyes. Your story about how Colin held your face & kissed you was just precious!
I’m just so happy you had those 2 days with him. I’ll be praying for you & Jerry, that God wrap you in His arms to comfort you at this time.

Just a quick note, I’m sorry if I worried any of you with the tsunami earlier this week. slept thru the whole thing. Besides, I’m about an hour & half from the coast with a mountain range between here & there. the towns on the coast are the ones in danger. Luckily, it didn’t materialize. We’re getting rain tho.
Lots of snow in the mts. I think we’re past the window for snow this yr. It’s been too warm, we haven’t been down to freezing since mid Dec.
Not a lot going on here.
I wonder if Brent is a candidate for a pace maker to get his heart beat back to normal? Just a thought. I hope he signs up for the Medicaid so he can have his medical taken care of.
Good to hear Tillie likes her new chair. I wish I could get a new recliner so I could get rid of this old loveseat. They look so comfy.

I’m okay. In case you didn’t hear there was a big earthquake off the coast of Alaska overnight. There was a tsunami warning all along the West coast. I didn’t hear anything about it till I got up. It was on my phone. But I want you guys to Google Ocean Park, Wa. when you do a video will show up of what happened last week. It was recorded by a drone flying above the ocean up there during a storm & high tide. that’s where my friend has a beach house in Ocean Park. As you watch, the road you see is where I have gone down to the beach. Up there you can drive on the beach so you have to be careful of idiots driving on the beach. You can see logs that were brought in by the force of the ocean. You never ever under estimate the power of the ocean or nature!!!! You can see cars parked along side the road & people scampering to get the you know what out of there.
Well, it’s been a soggy day today & will be all week. I think our window of having snow has passed. It hasn’t been cold enough for it to come down this low. they’re saying we could see a few flakes in the rain Thurs. or Friday, but most of it will be in the upper elevations.
No ITKWD tomorrow since it’s an all day Ca. Gold Rush day. Antonella will be going NUTS on her segment. I’ve seen a couple posts on my FB page & she will cohost with Nancy Hornback tomorrow morning.
Adele, I know how Tillie feels about those chairs. I can’t stand em either!! those metal chairs are not at all comfortable. My back is killing me when I have to sit on em or bleachers!!! I could never sit thru a game of any kind if I had to sit on bleachers. I hope her chair arrives & that she loves it. If she doesn’t I know someone who would, me. LOL. Congrats on JJ’s play. I bet he enjoyed it.

Not much going on here today. I’m reorganizing my bedroom that’s about it.
I’m not sure what a “Beverly Goldberg” is as I don’t watch the Goldbergs.
They’re talking about snowflakes later this week. It most likely will be mixed in with rain. We haven’t been cold enough for it to really snow like it did last year. We’ve been way above normal for this time of yr. Unless a bigggg Arctic blast comes thru I doubt we’ll see much if any snow this year.
Well, tomorrow will be football day & will find out who goes to the big game.
ddThe pic of the ocean was taken this week along the coast during a really bad storm. The ocean literally came into town in some areas.

I hope this finds everyone fine. No injuries or illnesses. I’ve heard how bad the flu bug is all over the country. Barbara, I’m glad you got to have Colin to yourselves for a couple days. I’m sure you’ll treasure those memories for a long time. You go right ahead & tell all the stories you want.
Adele, your husband actually liked polenta? WOW! Congrats on finding something everyone will eat. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, early!! I think most of the country will be glued to their TVs this weekend. I attribute the Titans loss to inexperience & age difference of the QBs. Brady’s quite abit older than Mariota. I’m not sure who I’ll root for yet, but I tend to root for the underdog.
I talked to Kay today. I called the hospital & got her room # & had them transfer me over to her. Her sister is now sick with the flu, so she isn’t able to get over here to see Kay. I’m staying away as I don’t want to get the flu. They’ve been having an over abundance of patients come in to the ER with it. I’m trying to keep away from places where I might pick it up. Hospital is #1 on my list of places to steer clear of. I got the flu & pneumonia shots in Oct.
Oh, Wally’s is WalMart. I call it that. It’s just something I do. We have a grocery chain owned by Kroger, but we call it Fred Meyer, or Freddy’s.
I’m surprised that schools don’t shut down for MLK day. I thought everything did. Strange. I don’t remember ever have snow days, but I don’t remember having snow back then. When they have snow days here, they just tack those days on at the end of the yr if they go over the allotted # of days.
I doubt they have many days, anyway.
We got slammed with a rain storm today. Along the Oregon coast it was in the 60s!! /Winds from the South came up along the coast line causing the spring like temps. I know how Tillie feels when all you want to do is sleep. I have days I could stay in bed, esp when it’s stormy outside.
Well, I guess that’s all for now.

Did you all watch the QF show today? I saw a few minutes of it, but I had to get out of the house for awhile. I get cabin fever every so often, & need to get out. We’ve been having some nice weather the past couple days, temps waaaay above normal for Jan. One of the local weathermen held up the calendar, pointing to the date, saying this is NOT normal for the month of Jan.!! Like I said the flowers will be popping up before long. Then we’ll get a hard frost or something & kill em off. The rain has returned & will be around for awhile they say, all week at least. All the rain, means more snow in the mts, which is a good thing.
Blondies!! That’s what I was thinking of, but could only come up with goldies, lol. Thanks Gail. Betty Crocker is coming out with more brownie mixes. I went to Wally’s today & saw another brownie mix, Supreme Triple Chunk brownie mix. It has chocolate chips, chocolate chunks & something else. (Old age again).
I went out to Wally;s today & when I went to catch the bus, I met this nice Japanese couple. We struck up a conversation, & he said, pointing to his wife, ‘”She’s 84.” I was shocked, because they didn’t look anywhere near that age. She told me he’s 87 & he didn’t look it either. They looked maybe 60s. They were so cute, sweet. When they got off the bus, they both said goodbye.
I’m sorry to hear the Pats won the game. I was rooting for the Titans, since the QB was with the Oregon Ducks in his college career. I was rooting for the Vikings as well as Mary Beth Roe. Those last few seconds were wild to say the least. I’ve seen basketball games last 20 minutes with just a few seconds left. The Super Bowl is the first Sunday in Feb. (4th) this yr.
Adele, congrats for JJ & his success with writing. I never heard of schools doing that, but it’s a great idea. The age of technology is what I call ” the dumbing down of our kids”. They can’t do simple math without a calculator, don’t know how to write cursive, even tho they’ll need to know how to sign documents later on in life.
I better get off my soap box before I make somebody mad.
Kay’s back in the hospital, she has pneumonia. I don’t know how she went from no infection to having pneumonia. Her sister will let me know more tomorrow.

Just a quick note to let ya all know I’m still around & kicking. I made a pan of brownies with hot lava in the middle. It’s a new variety from BC, I think. they also have brownies with chocolate chip cookie dough, you bake together. I’ve never had golden brownies. (That’s not the actual name of em. can’t think of it right now).
You don’t want to hear what we’re having weather wise this weekend. Or this week. Let me just say the flowers are gonna be popping up real soon if it continues.
Barbara, I hope you got to have Colin to yourself for a day or so. Adele, I hope your feeling better now, Grumpy. LOL. I got that T-shirt that says I’m a genius by birth, Grumpy by choice. Just so ya know, you do get a little out of sorts with the flu shot. Not full blown flu but just punk as my mom would say.Nothing on the Q this weekend. All day beauty Sat. Luckily David’s around for ITKWD Sunday.
