Hi Ladies,
THank you for the early b/day wishes. It is tomorrow, Wed. Those pics of the waterfalls were taken a year ago this time. We were in the deep freeze last yr. It was a brutal Jan. It started snowing on my birthday & continued all night long. Then the storm cleared out & we were in the 20s for highs for a week!!! That was Multnomah Falls that’s 20 miles from here. It has to be brutally cold for them to ice over! Altho I heard somewhere that in the early 1900’s the Columbia River froze over & you could drive across it. Now that was COOOOOLD!!!! Probably in our grandparents younger days.
Adele, wish your Rissy a happy b/day for me. I remember now you said that last yr that we share the same day. When is your b/day? I thought you said it’s in Jan. I just don’t remember what day. Aren’t I awful?

I think I can get to the care facility by bus, I just have to do a trip planner to find out which buses I’ll have to take. Yes she did smoke up until the day the Dr said she had 24 hrs to live if they didn’t remove a section of her lung. she admits her lungs are destroyed from it. Her being a nurse you’d think she’d know better.
I haven’t seen Tara on ITKWD since before Christmas. I’d be crushed if I broke one of my Christmas Temptations dishes. That’s a shame, Adele. I hope your feeling better now. I had to open my window last night for some fresh air myself. I didn’t leave it open all night tho. Sometimes you need a breath of fresh air even if it isn’t warm outside. there are times when I walk over to the store for that reason.
I’m not big on the winter Olympics. I like the ice skating & that’s about it. I like the summer Olympics more.
Well, I guess that’s all for now.

Hi Ladies,
Does anyone have any idea what’s going on with Sue? I sent her a post on her private page & I hope she gets it. I hope she’s okay. I’m worried about her.
I talked to Kay tonight, & she’s in a care facility now & they’re going to work on getting her breathing better. Her COPD is getting really bad now. I don’t think she’ll be around much longer unless they can get her lungs to open up more, which I doubt will happen.
Not much going on here. I;m not having cold enough weather to wrap up in my new throws. I got those Berkshire velvet soft set of 3 throws in teal & they are gorgeous!! and sooooooo soft. My little Cuddle Bug is sitting here next to me. She does this in the evening to get my attention for either food or wanting me to go to bed.
Well, I guess that’s all for tonight.

Hi Ladies,
I haven’t read all the posts yet, but I wanted to check in & make sure everyone’s okay. I’ve been hearing about the horrible temps out there. I know I whine about our weather out here but it doesn’t come close to anything like that!!! I;m on a mission to get you guys moved out here where it isn’t quite that bad!! We don’t have the humidity in the summer & we don’t get N’OrEasters like you guys get back there. Yes, it rains a lot (some yrs more than others) but it doesn’t get as cold. It snows up in the mts, but I’m at sea level. I watch our storms off the Pacific make their way across the country. They usually meet up with storms already out there. I hear you’re gonna be a BALMY 40+ this week. I’m sending it along with calmer weather. I can’t do any better than that, I;m afraid. I would love to send white sandy beaches, & tropical weather, but I can’t , sigh.

I didn’t go see Kay today. Her sister said she wasn’t feeling like having visitors. Sounds like she slipped back to square one. Sleeping all the time, not eating, etc. No wonder she’s anemic, she doesn’t eat. No nutrients in her blood.
I think I’ve been doing too much taking down everything, moving furniture, etc. I’m stiff & sore.
well, that’s about all for now.

Hi Ladies,
I tried writing a post last night & lost it, so here I go again. I had some good news about Kay. Yesterday she was feeling so much better. They gave her fluids, antibiotics, & breathing treatments Wed. & she felt good after that. But not so much today. we thought for sure she was going to pass when she left here Wed. they had her up & taking mini steps from the bed, then back. then I got a text from her sister, they plan to release her to a care facility tomorrow (Sat.). We can’t figure out how they can release her when they don’t even know what’s wrong with her. Her blood is all screwed up I guess. She’s anemic I guess. With all they can do these days, you’d think they’d be able to figure out what’s causing anemia. I always thought it was low on iron. Bring out the Geritol!!! lol
I’ve been industrious the past couple days. I took the tree down & bagged it up & threw it away. I’ve taken everything down now & am in the process of packing it all up again. My apt looks so barren & it echoes now. Jewell’s not sure what’s going on.
Speaking of which my fur baby is laying here on the couch with me. It’s her way of telling me she wants me to go to bed so she can curl up next to me. I wish she liked getting under the covers, but she hates anything on her. If I cover her when I’m changing sheets she bolts for the other room.
Barbara, thank you for the pretty card. I love glitter on cards. It makes the card prettier, I think.
I hope & pray you’re all safe & warm in this horrific storm. I’ve never heard of such a thing, bomb cyclone. Unless it’s a matter of life or death, stay OFF the roads, PLEASE!! Apparently the west coast is the only area of the country that isn’t affected by that Arctic blast. Unlike last year, we can’t buy a snowflake this year. At least for now. they said we were going to have another wet/cold winter, but so far it’s been dry. Dec. was the driest Dec. on record. NOT good!!!
Adele, those pics come from my FB page. I ‘like’ a lot of different pages, & I get pics/stories & if I like the pics I save them. I think the pic of the ole couple came from ‘Oldies’.
I’m forgetting something, but I’ll think of it at 3 am. lol
Oh, I know. You guys were talking about what you were going to have NYE/NYD. You spoke of things I’d never heard of. The only time I heard of hog jowls was on Beverly Hillbillies, Granny’s favorite dish, I believe. Never heard of Black eyed peas either. It must be different sections of the country.
Well, I guess that’s it for now. I plan to go see Kay tomorrow, but I’ll call to find out if she’s still there.

Hi Ladies,
Thank you for your prayers & kind words. I haven’t heard anything yet. She didn’t get into the ER till 5 pm! There were 10 ambulances that brought patients in ahead of her! People with the flu 😷. That’s all she needs is to be exposed to a virus!!
I’ll keep you posted.

Hi Ladies,
It’s with a heavy heart I pass this along. Kay was taken to the hospital this morning. I don’t think she’ll be coming home. I don’t think she’ll make it to my birthday. Maybe not the weekend. Her sister has been with her this week so she hasn’t been alone. She will keep me posted on what happens.
