Hi Ladies,
I won’t be on here for a few days. I’m sick 😷. I woke up yesterday with a bad cold but this morning it was a whole lot worse. I’ve been in bed all day today. That’s unusual for me!

I took pics of my decorations. I’m not completely done yet, but getting there. I have to tweak some more things. I took pics of the tree with the lights on.
I heard on the news tonight about all the bad weather headed your way. Be careful if you have to be out in it.

Hi Ladies,
Well, Ms. Scrooge, have you ever tried the Lo-Back for your lower back, they sell on the q? Lori Grenier sells it. I got it & am trying it out. you lay on the bed, flat on your back, place it on your thighs, & push, hold for a few seconds & relax. Start out slow & build up how long you push. It’ll take 2-3 weeks before you notice a difference. I’m still working on it. I’ll keep ya posted on if it works for me. I’m jealous of all those cookies, etc you guys are making. I don’t make em any more. No one to share em with. Your celebration this weekend sounds wonderful. Even tho I’m not Jewish, it’d be interesting to share a meal with you. I’ll hop on my broom & head out. lol. oh, when I read your post to Barbara, I thought you said something else there for a second. I almost fell off the couch! LOL. What color temptations do you have? I collect a little of both patterns.
I went to see my Dr today, & I told him what’s been going on. He didn’t put me on any more meds but put me in touch with s resource specialist to put me in touch with people who will, hopefully help me out with Jewell’s health issues. He said he thinks it’s more about being isolated. I told him this bldg. is a psyche ward. He said he’s heard about this bldg.
Well, I guess that’s about it for now.

Hi Ladies,
Well, believe it or not I’m actually decorating now. I’m feeling more in the spirit & have put up the village & the tree is almost done. I really need a bigger place for all of it. A nice house would fill the bill. We have a Queen Anne mansion in North Portland that I’d love to have!! They call it the Queen Anne Mansion of a million lights. They decorate it in lights of all colors, & Victorian décor. I have a ton of pics of it. I just don’t think I can put em on here. I’ll see if I can. You can take tours of it this time of year. Last time it was only $3.
Hallie brought me some presents from her & the family. That was a big boost for me. It’s been so many yrs since I’ve had presents under my tree.
I’m not surprised to hear Mario isn’t a nice man off camera. I’ve watched soaps for yrs, & I’ve always wondered how the stars acted off camera. I’ve heard some are nice, but I wonder if that’s because they’re in the spotlight. I’d like to be a fly on the wall to really see what they’re saying. I know actors are really bad at believing their own press.
Kay was trying to get help thru an some kind of agency, but they’re not going to help her because as of Oct. their rules changed & her interview doesn’t come up for a couple months. she’ll be gone by then. they have to review her case before they can get $$ to help her out.
Oh, did you hear Dan Wheeler is retiring at the end of the month? He was co-hosting Gourmet Holiday with Sharon yesterday & at the end of the show he announced it. they’re having a retirement show Dec. 29th @ 10pm ET. Rick is hosting it. He has other things lined up, helping people get thru grieving process & other things.
Well, I guess that’s all for now.
Oh Gail, I can’t find your address label. I know I cut it off the box, but where it ended up, who knows. I don’t have Barbara’s either.

Oooooops, it looks like I goofed. I hope I didn’t come off as angry. I didn’t mean for it to. This bldg. is one big psyche ward, you might say. I got a call back from the Dr. office, & I have an appt. for Wed. am. I’ll see what he has to say.
I’m slowly getting things put out & set up.
Oh Barbara, I’m so sorry to hear about the fiasco at your home. Bad time of yr to do a photoshoot outside, on a blanket. I’m mystified as to how it was Joey’s fault. Weird. Is he to blame for everything that goes wrong? I sure hope not. Sounds like she wants to make him her scape goat. Sending prayers for calm & peace for all of you. Peace. Be still.

Hi Ladies,
Thank you for all your words of encouragement. I’m all too well aware of people who are far worse off than I. Kay is the #1 example. She’s not going to get any better. She has COPD & is on oxygen. she had to have a portion of her lung removed before I knew her. The Dr.s told her 2 yrs ago she had only a few months to live. well, she was able to stretch it out to almost 2 yrs. She’s dying, & I’m watching her die little by little. I don’t think she has too much longer. When I fix meals, I take some of it down to her. she’s unable to do too much for herself these days. She asked me the other day why I do it,
& all I could say “It’s the caregiver in me. Always the caregiver.”
This whole bldg. is full of people with issues, be drugs, alcohol, you name it, it’s here. This is basically the last place people come to. Several people who were here when I moved in are gone now. Several have passed away. Some I knew, some I didn’t.
I’m playing my Christmas shows today. Frosty, the snowman, etc.
I did call my Dr. & am waiting to hear back.
That’s too bad about Mario. Where is this going end up?? They did the same thing to former Senator Bob Packwood from Oregon back in the 80s I think it was. Somewhere back there.

PS. I forgot, Adele, I saw clips of the Buffalo Bills game last night. Playing in the snow, I don’t know how they could see where they were on the field.

Hi Ladies,
Sorry I haven’t been on here lately. I’m in a funk & for the life of me I cannot get into the Christmas spirit this year. Not sure why. It could be any number of things. My injuries, shoulders, aches & pains, or Jewell’s issues, Kay. she’s not doing very well. I’m not sure she’ll make it to the new year. Her upper right side quadrant of her face is black & blue & her eye is black. she refuses to go to have it checked out. she was a registered nurse so she knows all about the injuries. so she says.
I got your cards, Adele, & Sue. Thank you. Adele, that was a funny story about the elevator. Yeah, Portland used to have a mounted police squad, & everybody loved when they were on patrol. But due to budget & upkeep they had to dismantle it. The horses were taken by private citizens, to good homes. Whenever they were patrolling downtown, people, including myself would stop to look. A lot of people would go up & pet the horses. I don’t know if they were supposed to, but they did. I’m scared to death of them so I kept my distance. Sounds crazy to be afraid of horses, but they’re so big & they can spook so easily.
I heard you guys on the East coast got snow last night. a year ago we had snow on the ground. It’s dry as a bone out here right now. If it was summer it’d be in the 90s I’m sure!! But that East wind is bone chilling cold!!
