Hi Ladies,
I hope your shot in the knee went well, & you’re feeling better. My left knee has been bothering me lately. It actually went out from under me when I was at the grocery store recently. I’m glad the fence repairman came & fixed it. No wonder it’s falling apart, 20 yrs old. If you replace it, what do you think you’ll put in, if I may ask? I’m glad you figured out the theme song was from Baretta. I googled swat too, & all I could find was the show from the 70s. And of course the newest one. It’s a shame Tillie doesn’t want to go out for dinner. I’d sure be up for it, lol.
Colleen, that story about the movie theater was funny. When I was going to the movies, I;m surprised I didn’t sit on somebody’s lap. It takes awhile for the eyes to adjust to the darkness. I don’t go to the movies anymore, cuz they’re waaaaay toooo expensive. and there isn’t any I want to spend that much $ on. I didn’t know there’s a Titanic museum in Branson. I’ve been fascinated with it ever since I can remember. I recorded several specials on it when A&E ran them yrs ago. And of course I saw the movie several times. (and not because of Leonardo do Caprio) lol Do you know how long it’s been there? I know there was a traveling museum that went across the country, but it never came close to me. Of course.
Adele, do you live in the country? I know there are some wild turkeys south of here & they take over & are nasty. Did you know the turkey was supposed to be the national bird?

Just finished reading the posts. Adele, you are a character!!! I can’t believe Sue is getting snow so early. We have snow in the mts but not down here.
We had a couple dry, but cold windy days here, but the rain is coming back. that should warm it up abit. When that east wind blows into town it’s bitter cold that goes right thru you no matter how many layers you have on.
Maybe God is trying to tell her something about the wedding. When I get a road block to my plans it’s usually His way of saying no. And it’s always in my best interest. He knows best.
Were you guys talking about Tiffany lamps? They are sooooo beautiful, esp when there is a pattern in them like flowers, butterflies, etc.
Adele, I think it was you that asked me about the theme song from SWAT last week? The only thing I can think of is the theme from the original show
SWAT from back in the day. Don’t ask me what decade it was on, I don’t remember.
Have you ever thought about using cement to secure the fence? The fence posts? What kind of fence is it?
I wanted to get that Christmas tree TSV sooooo bad, but I was afraid to add more to my already long list of easy pays. sigh. I LOVE the lights on a tree!!

You might want to check out your local Sunshine Division. They take donations of food & clothing, esp this time of yr. It’s thru the local police here. I’m pretty sure it’s a national organization. Can’t hurt to check it out.

I’m back. I read all the posts & took some notes. Thank God for that neighbor that shot at the shooter today. He took out after the guy too. He may have hit the guy cuz he crashed & was found dead. I sure hope the neighbor hit him. Whoever it is I hope they give him a medal!!!
Onto happier subjects, we don’t want to give too much time to the enemy.
I did get a chuckle out of the adventures at the restaurants, but I have to say I’m surprised the waitress didn’t seat you in a more suitable place. Seating five people in a booth is ridiculous!! Didn’t they have one of those circular booths? Corner booth? Or a table? I can’t see 5 people of any size, unless they’re kids, sitting in a booth. Four, yes, 5 NO. Maybe it’s just me. I haven’t been to an Applebee’s in many yrs so I don’t know how their seating is arranged.
Gail, OMG We have mountains out here, but nothing like that!! Why would anyone want to live that high up a steep grade? What about an emergency? We use 4 wheel drive in winter to get around in the snow, & up to the ski resorts. That would be like driving up to the top of Mt. Hood!! I’m pretty sure there’s no roads to the top.
Colleen, Have you tried giving to a woman’s center for domestic violence victims? Or a local church that gives out clothing to the needy? I have friends who volunteer at the their local St. Vincent de Paul. They give out stuff to the needy free of charge. I used to give clothes I didn’t want anymore to them & they would fllyyyyy off the racks.
Adele, I was given gabapentin for my sciatica but I had a reaction so I was given something else. It could very well be an allergic reaction to it. The side effects alone are enough to scare me into not taking it.
Barbara, I’m sorry your family won’t be able to come home for the holidays. That comes with being the low man on the totem pole. I’ll pray for a miracle for ya.
Ok ladies, I see some things I’ve never heard of so you’ll have to fill me in. I haven’t heard of potato casserole, Delmonico potatoes, or sweet potato casserole. Is that what they sell on the Q every yr? If I was going to have company, I’d love to get that dinner special with either ham or turkey from Corkeys & the sides. Right now I don’t have any plans for T’giving. the church across the street always has a lovely dinner for the neighborhood, & the homeless.
After a busy busy Friday, I was glad to have the extra hour of sleep. I overdid it & paid for it. I’m using that massager a lot. It feels so good on the back of my neck & shoulder, & down on my lower back/ under my left leg. I wasn’t sure it’s work, but it does!!
With the time change it gets colder sooner at night & it’s gonna be cold the next few days. It’s been snowy up in Seattle which is early for them. I thought something looked funny during the Seahawks game today.
I start decorating early because growing up it was always(!!) a fight!!! So, as soon as I was able to, I started decorating the day after thanksgiving!!! I used to go out & get a real tree, either buy one or go out to a tree farm & cut my own!! Not any more!! I had to go to artificial trees when I was taking care of an elderly woman that was allergic to everything!!
Well, I’ve rambled on long enough.

WHAT’S WRONG WITH PEOPLE??!! Yet another (!!!) mass shooting today. This time in a church!! I apologize for yelling, but it’s becoming tooooo commonplace anymore!!! I haven’t read all the posts yet so if I don’t respond don’t feel bad. I’ll get to it eventually.
I hope everyone remembered to turn the clock back last night. I thought it was gonna be soggy today, but so far it’s been fairly nice. Cloudy with some breaks of sun now & then.
I’m gonna go back & read the posts so I’ll have something good to write about.

Just a quick note to let ya know I’m still around. Not much news from this end. the weather has turned cold & damp. the mountains are getting piles of snow. It won’t snow here till Jan. if it does at all. I’m down to the valley floor, so it has to get pretty cold for it to snow down here.
I haven’t read all the posts yet, so will do that tomorrow & catch up on all the news.
Today marks 7 yrs that Jewell came home with me. She celebrated by sleeping most of the day, lol.

Are you thinking of James Earl Jones? He did the voice of the father lion in Lion King, & was the voice of Darth Vader in Star Wars, the early ones. The cast for the live action version of Lion King he’s the father again. They just released the whole cast for the movie, to be released late next yr, I think. And he’s the voice for CNN.
I didn’t know you were such a fan of Shemar Moore. He did a special appearance last week on Criminal Minds to help Garcia get thru a bad time when a criminal they put away escaped & it brought back horrible memories for her. It was really sweet.

I was referring to some cardigan sweaters I got from QF yrs ago. I could probably count the # of times I’ve worn em on one hand, LOL!! They aren’t exactly wearable during the rest of the yr.
I have Comcast/Xfinity, too. They just raised my bill $4. could be worse I guess. It just seems like they’re always raising their rates!! When I first moved here I was paying less than $40/ month, now it’s over $100/month!! And since this blding is wired with their equipment we have no other choice.
This weekend will be the 7th anniversary with Jewell. I call it her 2nd birthday. I adopted her on Nov. 4th, 2010. She’s laying here next to me on the sofa.
