Hi Ladies,
I’m so far behind I’ll never get caught up, lol. No, I’m in no danger from the fires in CA. Or the one in the Gorge. It should be almost out, but I haven’t heard. There’s no more smoke in the air. We’re having some rain this week & snow in the mts, ski resorts, 4,000 ft & higher. that should help a lot with the fire, what’s left anyway.
The Ca. fires make the Gorge fire look like a camp fire. I haven’t heard how they got started in the first place. It wasn’t lightning for sure. I was thinking of Neal & his family when I heard it was in the Napa Valley. My sister & nephew are in San Jose area, but I haven’t been able to get in touch with them. It’s really terrible. Soooo scary!!!
I was wondering what happened to the fall & Halloween shows on the Q. I was thinking just yesterday, what happened to the Halloween decorations, the blow up balloon like decorations, the spider, etc they’ve had on before. Did I miss them? The only one that had anything Halloween was QF. I don’t remember seeing the leaf blowers, the brooms that you can use to sweep away the dirt, etc off the sidewalk. Anything fall at all.
Know how dumb I am? I didn’t realize Monday was Columbus day holiday. To me Columbus day is Oct. 12th, not the 9th. I’ll always remember Columbus day for the bad wind storm we had that day in 1962. I wasn’t here in Portland back then, I was living further south of here. There was a lot of damage from it all over the state.
I got a chuckle out of the cardinal showing up at Colleen’s house. lol.
Tara has a set of mugs with two of the Christmas designs that were on the platters.
Well, I guess that’s all from here.

Hi Ladies,
Sorry I’ve been so long getting back to you. I hope everyone is okay. I heard the latest storm is heading thru your areas of the country. Hopefully you’ll get mostly rain & little or no damage. From what I gather it sounds like a typical Oregon storm in Nov. or Dec. Not a hurricane just lots of wind & rain.
Today is fashion day & 6 easy pay on everything, & QF is too.
Sorry to hear you’re having more hot weather. It does spoil it for baking. I made an apple cobbler today. I used a mixture of different apples, & used crescent roll dough for the top. Yummy.
Did you watch ITKWD today? I broke down & I got the Temptations Christmas square tray, in the fireplace pattern. I wanted all 3 of them but couldn’t. I imagine you guys would get the baker pattern. It’ll go with the set of bowls of Christmas fetti pattern I have.
My TV did the same thing today. I was just coming in when it went black. I thought I did it somehow.. lol.
Our leaves are starting to turn on the tree tops, but that’s all. It’s just getting down to the low 40s now. It has to get colder before they really start turning.

As for the trip out to the Gorge, it was eye opening. there were burned areas, but also areas of green trees, I think the worst is outta sight from the highway. Down in the canyons. I did spot a some smoke coming up from the canyon. It wasn’t a lot, just like you’d see from a campfire. I took a lot of pics. I expected to see hills of burned trees & nothing else, but that wasn’t the case. I hear nature is already replenishing itself. New growth is already popping up. The fire won’t be totally out till the heavier rains come in. Then we have mudslides, rock slides to worry about. It won’t affect me, as it’s more than 20 miles from here. But it would affect a lot of others, esp the highway.

Adele, take a deeeeeep breath, exhale, take more deeeeeeeeeeep breaths, & calm down, girl. Your Panda will be just fine. We CANNOT let these evil morons run our lives. All that does is let them win. We can’t allow that!!! I watched the 20/20 special too. I also watched Anderson Cooper special tribute Friday night on CNN. It was on an hour, commercial free. He showed each victim, & talked about each one’s life. It was very sad & touching at the same time.
I have an appointment for an ultrasound later this week & more PT for my shoulder, left one this time. and of course it’s gonna rain those days. lol

Hi Adele,
Who is Panda? I’m confused, but that doesn’t take much, lol. This will be short. Weather is sunny & warm, 70s for now, rain this weekend. Not downpours.
I’ll be writing about my day trip thru the Gorge with my friend later on. Gotta put down notes so I don’t forget something. lol. Not as bad as I had envisioned in my mind. thank goodness.

Hello Ladies,
There are no words for what happened last night in LV. It was breaking news as I was getting ready to go to sleep. At that point it wasn’t nearly as bad as it turned out to be this morning. It must’ve been on all night. I still can’t believe it.
Gail, sounds like you had a wonderful time with your sister. It’s always a wonderful feeling when you come home from a wonderful trip. Good to hear my pics came out right side up. I put in a complaint about it, so maybe somebody took care of it.

I went to the Dr, today. It wasn’t my doctor as he is out of town. this was a adorable young guy. he referred me to a vascular surgeon for an ultrasound to find out what’s going on with the blood vessels in my legs. And he referred me back to PT for my left shoulder.
I had to re sign in again. Probably since it’s a new month.
the weather is nice this week, but chilly at night. The trees are starting to turn. Speaking of trees, my friend is going out to the gorge tomorrow, so I’ll get some pics of the damage done by the fire. I’m taking my camera & not use the phone as you’ve seen it doesn’t take the best of pics of scenery. She’s going to go over to the WA. side so we can really see the damage across the river.
