Hi Ladies,
Well, I’m sitting here among a mess of tubs & big black bags. The crew I told ya about showed up this morning, they got to work getting me all ready for the bug spray. they were 2 really nice kids (anyone younger than me is a kid). anyway they got me all set to go & guess what, NO BODY here to do the spraying. so I have to sit here till Wed., but that’s okay. I can get out what I need, I made sure of that!!! They weren’t scheduled to show up till this afternoon, but one of the clients didn’t come to the door so they came here. I all but pulled em in!!!! LOL the girl was impressed with my Disney collection of DVDs & how I had em in alphabetical order!! Jewell was a bit out of sorts with all the hub bub going on. She wasn’t sure what to make of it.Gail, I’m hopping on my broom & coming out to your place to eat!!! Wow, it sounds like your hubby can cook!! LUCKY you!!! And many thanks for the sheets. No hurry. Whenever you feel up to it. I think pink & purple would be nice in your hair. back when I was going to beauty school, they used to frost my hair. I guess they call it highlighting now., I’m a natural blonde so they’d do a reverse frost by tipping my ends a bit darker than my natural color. I don’t do anything anymore. Too lazy.
I see they’re having another TSV of one they had earlier in the yr. Looks like they’re clearing out the stock of summer stuff this week. Shoes, clothes, etc.
I called Critt today & we’re gonna have a picnic lunch, hamburger, potato salad, chips, & maybe watermelon or ice cream for dessert. I don’t think he’ll be up to watching the fire works with me. I think he’s an early riser, so he’ll be sound asleep by then.
The weather’s just purrrrrfect out here. Not tooo hot or toooo cold. The weather people cant’ believe it. I’ll try & send it out to you guys.
I didn’t see those shell candles. Were they on VPH show or another show? They sound lovely. Anything to do with the beach I love.I’m surprised they wouldn’t let ya shower. After a week it should be okay. When I had my heart surgery they had me in the shower in a few days, & said for me to let the water flow down over it as it helped the healing process. I’d turn my back to the water & let it run down over my shoulders. I wouldn’t hit the scar directly for a week or so but it felt good when I did.
Do they have Blues or Jazz Festivals out there? They have one going on out here along the river since last Fri. To get in it used to be cans of food for the Oregon food bank. It’s one of their biggest fund raisers..

ddOppppppppps, Gail, you’re not the only one with really short hair. I cut mine & I came thisclose to shaving it all off for the hot weather!! That’s a horrible pic of me but I’m not good at selfies. I don’t take good ones. Just wanted to let ya know you’re not alone with reeeealy short hair.. dd

Barbara, I don’t think you missed Jim Shore. But I think I heard on one of the show updates that he’s either on this week or next week. There is a QF show on Tues. morning at 6 AM your time. And later in the day.
Colleen, I’ll be saying a prayer for a successful surgery. I can’t wait till you can see sooo much better!!
Adele, I believe the sides I preordered are the mac & cheese, sweet potato casserole, & two new ones, a hash brown potato casserole, cream corn casserole. They all sounded so delish I couldn’t resist.
Your BBQs sound delightful. I’ve had hot dogs & baked beans for dinner the past couple nights. Too lazy to cook. That’s when I wish I had someone to cook for me. lol
By this time tomorrow night I hope they’ve packed my stuff up & they’ve done the treatment so I can get back to some kind of normalcy. After they spray the apt I can’t get back in for 4-5 hrs later so the spray can dry. I can’t leave Jewell in here so I have to leave her with Critt. He loves her to death so he doesn’t mind. I’m sooooo tired of this crap!!!!
Well, that’s all for tonight.
I’ll keep ya posted on what happens or doesn’t happen.

HAPPY 4TH OF JULYHi Adele,
I plan to put the bed in the corner, under one of the windows, after they get done with the treatment & things get settled down. They have to move things around so they can spray for the bugs, (that I don’t think I have)! It’ll give me a chance to rearrange things.
I do keep in touch with the families of those I took care of. I spend Christmas with one family, I took care of Diane’s mother for 6+ yrs. And there are others I keep in touch with. I don’t see or hear from anybody from HP. I would imagine most if not all those folks are retired by now, or don’t work for HP anymore.
I’m sure I’m forgetting something but that’s all I can think of for now.

This makes the 3rd time I’ve tried writing a post. Third times a charm, I hope. I hope you’re enjoying the CIJ shows on the q today. Adele, did you see the cute “GoBot” robot this morning? It’s a minion from the Despicable Me movie. IT rolls around on the floor & when it detects something in the way it turns & goes in a different direction. Looks like fun for the kids. I did preorder some food items for Dec. arrival. I got the mini cheesecakes, & the 4 sides. That should keep me fed for awhile. there’s been waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay tooooo much stuff on the show that I’d love to have!!!!
Gail, I’d love to have those sheets!!! I’ll reimburse you for the cost of sending them plus whatever you want (short of $1,000,000) for em. I haven’t priced them yet but I imagine like all sheets they are pricey. Thanks. I wish I had someone to go out & bring dinner home for me. lol. You’ve got a good guy there. There’s a woman here who shaved her one side of her head, but she didn’t have any surgery done. She did it to get attention. I’m glad to hear kids are still getting out & playing, catching bugs like we used to do. We don’t have lightning bugs out here tho. We caught grasshoppers. Sounds gross doesn’t it. But as kids what did we know, right??

It was cloudy this morning but they burned off & it’s sunny out. It’s just right for me. Not too hot. Next weekend it’s supposed to be hot again, it is July after all.

I GOT THE BED this afternoon!!!! Hooooooooooooray!!! I was done with sleeping on the loveseat!!!! I’ll spend part of the weekend catching up on my sleep!! It’s a twinXL so I have a few more inches at the foot of the bed so my feet won’t hang over. I just hope I don’t roll off like I did on the aerobed. It’s not nearly as high as my old one My old one was a double pillow top so it was really high. It’s abit firm, but I plan to get a memory foam topper to go on top of it. I’m just happy I have a bed now!!
You’ll never guess who has discovered it, LOL. I laid down for a nap & she had to explore. I felt her lay down beside me. I just hope I don’t roll over on to her during the night. It’s a lot narrower than the old one.
Adele, I think the job I liked the best was HP. Of course there were pitfalls, but overall it was the best. I had health insurance, dental insurance, & didn’t have to worry about it. It’s the only job I had where I had it. Some of the caregiver jobs were good. I formed relationships that lasted for yrs. There were some I’d rather forget, too, & have.
Well, CIJ is on the q right now. I need to win a lottery so I can get the h— out of here, & buy all the QF I want & Christmas décor. Like I need anymore, LOL.
Have a great holiday girls. Good luck Colleen on your cataract surgery on Monday. You’ll be amazed when it’s all done & you can see everything again.

Well, so far no bed. I’m supposed to get it today. It’s from a friend of a friend of a friend who is moving to Australia, he’s getting rid of everything. Not a friend of mine but of one of the management team here. If it were a friend of mine I’d be packing a bag to go myself. LOL. I think it’s a twin XL but not sure. I hope it’s in good shape.
Gail, maybe your hairdresser can comb your hair so the ‘bare spot’ isn’t quite so obvious. Perhaps a small hair piece. When I went to beauty school, they used to use hair pieces on me for practice. I haven’t seen what they have on the market nowadays, but I’m sure they look more natural than back in the 70s. I hope you hear news soon, so you can at least know what to expect. It’s terrible to have to wait & wait for the results. The anxiety can be worse than the results. I do wear glasses, but I need to go in & have a check up. I’m noticing my vision is blurrier than ever. I even have to make the font bigger than ever. I tried contacts back in the 80s, but they didn’t work out. I couldn’t wear them in Hewlett Packard as I worked in a cleanroom & contacts aren’t allowed as they could adhere to the eye.
I WISH I could share our beautiful weather with all of you!!! It’s absolutely perrrrrrrrect!! Pretty unusual for the 4th of July weekend. It’s gonna be in the upper 70s to low 80s all weekend.
I don’t have any plans for the weekend, since I don’t get paid till Monday. Of course the stores are having great sales, but can’t partake & stock up for the holiday. Oh well.
Sue, it sounds like you’re coming right along with your PT. Keep up the good work!!

Gail, I’m sooo sorry to hear about our eye!!! I’ll be praying for a miracle. I can’t think of anything worse than losing eyesight!!! I pray your biopsy goes well & they nothing serious. Just know you have support & prayers from coast to coast.It’s so nice to be able to relax with the windows open for fresh air & cooler temps. There are wildfires out here tho. I think the one here was started by lightning.
I got a call from management today & somebody is donating a twin bed. I’ll find out more about it tomorrow. I hope it’s in good shape. she didn’t know if it was just the frame or just the mattress or if it’s the whole thing.
I guess that’s all for tonight.
