Hi Ladies,
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh relief!!!! It’s 30 degrees cooler today from yesterday & Sat.!!! After the sun set last night you could feel the cool AC coming in from the Pacific!! By 11pm the temp had dropped to the low 70s. It really does cool off quickly once the winds change from East to West off the ocean.
Colleen, yes I can see the fireworks from my windows. Altho there may not be as many as in yrs past, as some towns have banned them due to the fire danger.
My friend Diane loaned me her Aerobed to sleep on till I can find a bed. She took me around to check out mattresses today. Didn’t find anything to bring home. I’ll have to check out more online & see what I can find. My biggest issue is how to get it here!!
I think Tara was on ITKWD a couple weeks or so ago with another clearance item, a 2 bowl set with platter & spoon & she had it in the fall colors, Harvest, Pumpkin Patch, & pumpkins in Floral Lace.. but that’s all I’ve seen since yesterday. It seems she isn’t on as often as she had been. Maybe it’s just me. I haven’t seen anything new I awhile. Like you guys said maybe in July. Harvest is a gorgeous pattern!! Esp in the figural pattern.
I think it’s neat that Ron & Amanda share the same birthday. IT’s rare that 2 different families from different parts of the country have a family member that shares the same birthday. And you met thru QF.

Hi Ladies,
It’s another scorcher out here today!! I think it hit the triple digits today, 101 or so!! My poor little AC can’t keep up with it. I do see small white clouds coming in so that’s a sign the Pacific AC is on the way. Yeaaaaaa!! We have a long standing joke out here that summer doesn’t arrive till July 5th or so. It should be back to normal in the next couple of days, Monday will be 20 degrees cooler & gets cooler as the week goes on, they say!

Barbara, your sil shouldn’t worry about the family putting her in a nursing home. It has to be HER choice, not theirs. It’s the law. Unless she’s incapacitated to the point she couldn’t communicate. I did live in care giving to the elderly for many yrs. I do hope her grandson & his family does move in with her. It would help both out & should calm her worries about being alone.
I’m glad those storms are gone. That’d scare the crap out of me. I know I complain about the weather out here, but it doesn’t compare to those terrifying tornadoes & huge hail stones!!!
Jewell’s laying here beside me, trying to stay cool. It’s as hot in the bedroom as it is outside, I swear!! She’s sooooooo spoiled. I got her shaved a couple months ago so her fur has grown out a little bit but she should be fine. Oh, it was so cute the first night I had to sleep out here on the loveseat. She got up on me for awhile & after awhile she stretched out her one paw, putting it on my face. I wish I could’ve gotten a pic of it but I couldn’t.

Oh, has anyone seen Oceanfetti in Temp-tations this year? I haven’t seen it lately. I haven’t seen much of Tara on ITKWD the past few weeks. I saw her today with soup tureen.

Hi Ladies,
I hope everyone’s okay. It’s hot here like they said it would be. Thankfully it’s just for a couple days. It’s like camping out sleeping out here on the love seat.
I was wondering what was going on with qvc. I thought it was something to do with my computer. It upgrades itself from time to time & I thought it was that. So, have any of you seen the new contest on the q? It’s about Christmas in July. I’ve already signed in, & had no problems with it.
Colleen, I wish I lived closer, I’d come & pick your blackberry bushes clean!! I LOVE blackberry jam!! I love berries on ice cream, too.

That does seem cruel to keep the kids in school when they’re done & they have to sit thru days & days of nothing to do!! I’m not surprised notices for the start of next school yr are out already. A few yrs ago I went to Walmart the weekend of the 4th of July & they already had back to school supplies out already!! Of course I had to say, the kids just got OUT of school!! I don’t remember school supplies out till Aug., just before registering for school. Of course that’s back in the days of Fred Flintstone. LOL
Well, that’s all for now. Not much going on today. Toooooooooooooo hot!!!

Hi Ladies,
I hope everyone is doing well. We’re getting ready for the hottest temps so far this yr. Starting Friday we hit the 90s, then Sat. & Sun. we hit the upper 90s & maybe 100 both days. However, we don’t get the high humidity. As the temps go up the humidity goes down, esp if the heat is coming up from Ca., which it is. The Pacific ocean isn’t nearly as warm as the Gulf, either. We’ll probably have a lot of drownings due to the cold icy waters in the rivers right now. The snow is still melting so they’ll be pretty cold till Aug. The BIG thing is people don’t wear life jackets!! And when they hit that cold water, the body can’t take it & down they go.

Adele, Botox in cobblers? That’s a new one on me!!!LOL. And here I thought it was for wrinkles. I’ve had frozen pizzas not get done in the middle, so I turn on the broiler for a couple minutes, watching it closely, & that takes care of it. watch to make sure you don’t burn it to a crisp tho!!
I miss the Birkies too. I got a pair yrs ago that are patriotic, red/white stripes with the blue/white stars. I still have them & wear em this time of yr. I know what you mean about Vionics. They tend to turn my feet out due to the high arch support. I need it but not like that

Sue, CONGRATS on your success. It just takes time to heal. But it sounds like your progressing right along.

Oh, I want to clear up a mistake. the new host, Mary was on with Mary Beth when she hosted QF a couple weeks ago. I think they took turns, but I know
that Mary did some modeling of the QF that day. That’s probably where I messed up. That day Angel was the only one that didn’t have an M in her name.
And a couple days or so ago I saw a new host, Holly right at the end of her show. I always seem to get in on the end of a show. Never fails.

Well, it’s gone. Two men showed up this morning to take away the old wooden bed frame, & since the bed was right there & they’d have to move it anyway, I told them to go ahead & take it out too. And as they were dismantling the frame it pretty much broke apart. They weren’t even trying to break it apart either!!! So I’m without a bed tonight. That’s okay. With the heat coming I’ll probably sleep out here on the love seat anyway. That bedroom gets unbearable when its that hot!!!!
No, no plans for the 4th as yet. Never do anymore. I should be getting those Rasstelli burgers soon, so if it isn’t too hot, I’ll cook one.
I guess I’m in a minority, I don’t like blueberries. I like strawberries, raspberries, black berries, so go figure.

Thank you for the tips on getting a bed & frame. I didn’t think they sold em together. I’ll check that out.
Gail I was thinking about the outhouse, & I remembered the episode of I Love Lucy with Ernie Ford on the show. When he asked Ricky where the bathroom was & Ricky told him it was through the bedroom, Ernie replied, You mean it’s in the HOUSE? Wait till I write mama about this!!” I hope they get that issue taken care of!! I don’t like using a porta potty myself. Sooooo unsanitary!!! You don’t know what you might catch.
Colleen, I believe you were speaking of the new host Holly(I think that’s her name). she was on the other day. Long dark hair? I saw her just that one time.

Well, the heat is coming this weekend. We could hit 100 degrees Sat. & Sun. Right now the cool air off the Pacific is coming in, so we’re enjoying it. I wish I could bottle it & sell it during heatwaves. I could make a fortune.

Hi Ladies,
Not much going on out here today. It’s overcast & cool right now. but a BIG heatwave is coming our way!! It hasn’t quite reached us yet but I see on the news about how hot it is down south of here!!!
I still haven’t been sprayed yet, they’re still working on getting someone to come in & get the apt ready for the treatment. If I can do it I;m getting rid of the bed frame, & bed, since it won’t cost me anything. I just need to find a bed to replace it!!! MINOR detail!! Say a prayer or two I can find one to replace the old (1999) bed!! Thanks.
I’m glad your all safe, Adele. That must’ve been soooooo scary & unnerving for all of you!! they put schools in lockdown whenever there’s ‘an active shooter’ reports out here.
Gail, I must’ve missed something, but that was interesting that a church or theater wouldn’t have indoor plumbing in this day & age. I thought outhouses were a thing of the past. LOL
I see David’s been on Gourmet holiday both yesterday & today. that’s pretty unusual for him to on GH during the week.

I don’t know if any of you heard, Shawn & hubby Joe, have adopted a baby girl!!! That’s why she’s been MIA the past few days. I went to her FB page & she had posted 2 pics of the baby & her & Joe. They named her Jagger Jude. (???) She’ll be gone for most of the summer with new mommy duties. I can only imagine they’re over the moon. I noticed she disappeared but I thought she was ill again. Isn’t it wonderful news? I know how hard they took it when she lost their baby a few yrs ago.

Adele, I think your hubby & my cat, would make a purrrrrrfect pair!! She’s soooooo picky it drives me NUTS!! I’ve tried everything from the cheapest cat food to the more expensive & she turns her nose up at nearly all of it!!! I have found a few canned cat foods she’ll lap up the gravy. I don’t have to worry about her getting ahold of something that’s bad for her tho. she won’t even look at people food.
When I was growing up, we either ate what was in front of us or we went without!!! We didn’t dare complain either!! Maybe if they were left to their own devices & had to cook for themselves they’d change their tune!!

Colleen, how is the eye coming along? Are you finding it a big difference from before? I sure hope so.

I hope all had a wonderful weekend with family.

Barbara, I’m so sorry to hear about the loss of your family member. It’s a shame she wouldn’t go to the ER, they probably could’ve saved her life! My guess is a heart attack. Has all the earmarks of one. women don’t share the same symptoms as men. That is young to pass away. My condolences to you & your family.

Hi Ladies,
It was a sloppy wet day here today. It was abit windy but nothing like they were predicting. It was a typical Oregon storm, nothing too unusual except for the time of yr. By the weekend the rain will be loooong gone. Sunday’s supposed to be in the 80s!!
I haven’t heard from management yet. My neighbor Critt called me & he told me another resident has had the exact same thing happen to them about the bug thing. But she’s not standing for it. She’s filing a complaint against Home Forward. I don’t know who she’s filing the complaint with tho.
Nothing on TV tonight. Jewell’s laying here beside me taking a cat nap. She’s been clingy lately.. she comes in & gets up on my chest until I have to put her down. She gets to be a little heavy after awhile.
Well, there isn’t much to talk about so I’ll close for now.
