    Hi Ladies,
I hope everyone is okay. I haven’t gone back & read the latest posts so forgive me if I leave anyone out. We’ve been having chilly temps out here. Down right cold for this time of yr. We should be in the mid 70s by now, but lately we’ve been lucky if we get to 60. This time tomorrow we’re gonna get hit by a big storm that’s coming out of the Gulf of Alaska. It’s gonna pack heavy winds along the coast too. It turned out to be a nice afternoon, calm before the storm. But by Father’s day we should be in the 70s, maybe low 80s. We’ll see.
I’ve been stressing out over a situation I have here. On June 6th I get a call from management asking if it’d be alright if they came into inspect my place. I asked if there was anything I needed to do to prepare, & she said no. so I gave permission. BIG MISTAKE!!! By law they’re supposed to give a 48 hr notice to enter, but I was being co-operative. the inspector showed up around 2 pm. She was not happy that I had things strewn over the furniture. she went around humming, & I could tell by the tone she was NOT happy & I told her “I know that tone.” After I got the furniture cleared off I watched as she inspected the rocking chair & sofa. No bugs. Then she went into the bedroom, so I had to go get Jewell off the bed. After a few minutes she called me in to ask questions. I watched as she inspected she didn’t find anything. Then as she was replacing the bed, she turned as almost an after thought, & went back to check something. GUESS WHAT! LO & Behold she found one. ONE. or so she said. She didn’t show it to me, so I have no proof there actually was one.
So she wrote up a form for treatment. I told both her & management that there was no way I’d be ready as I have to bag up everything in 30 gallon bags before they can treat. And when they do come Jewell & I have to vacate for 4-5 hrs cuz the fumes are AWFUL!! They sprayed my place back in 2011 & I thought Jewell & I were going to die from the fumes!!!
Well, I put in for help, but haven’t heard anything yet. She came yesterday around 2 pm & I told her I wasn’t ready & repeated that I’d told her & management I wouldn’t be ready unless I got help. So later on I found a notice of noncompliance which now goes on my record.
I’m stressing out big time. It’s not like I’m being non compliant on purpose. I need HELP. Any & all prayers would be appreciated. Thank you!!
Do you know there’s a QF show tomorrow? At 3 pm ET. Thursday.

What in the world is this country coming to?? Unbelievable what happened at the ball field today!! and in SF.
Well, I better close before I bore ya to death or lose this.
    Have a great day.

    Hi Ladies,
I’m soo sorry you had that experience Adele. That was terrible!!! The name calling, hate speech, verbal abuse is getting really bad out here. Children aren’t immune either!! they’re being verbally assaulted, as well as the adults around here. It’s always been there, but is really out in the open nowadays.
Try to not let it get to you. that only lets them win. Keep on wearing your Quacker clothes!! Whatever makes you happy.

Colleen, I’m glad to hear the surgery was a success. You’ll be so much happier once the eye is healed. Sorry you missed the surprise QF show. On my schedule it said LOGO was listed, but turned out QF.
Oh, I have a cute story. A farmer over in Vancouver, Wa., has a female goat named Cracker. She recently gave birth to quadruplets. That’s a rarity for goats. anyway, he name the babies, Graham, Saltine, Ritz, & Oyster. The reporter covering the story was overcome with the cuteness of the 4 kids. As for mom she doesn’t have enough faucets so the farmer & his wife bottle feed the ones that don’t get to mom in time. And those kids are soooooo cute!!!
    Talk about cuteness OVERLOAD!!!
I heard that most of the country will be in a massive heatwave this week. NOT here!!! We were in the 60s yesterday, with showers. Today was cloudy with sun breaks. But the rest of the week looks damp & chilly. Want to send some warmth out this way???
I’ve been stressed out the past few days. I’ll get into it later on. I just hope I can get things straightened out this week.
    Have a great week, girls.

    Hi Ladies,
It’s been awhile since I was on here, so I hope all is fine with all of you. Colleen, I will be sending prayers & hugs for you. I know the surgery will go well & you’ll be fine!! You will be able to see better than you could ever imagine. It’ll be like getting a whole new pair of eyes when it’s all over with.

Gail, the establishment is soley responsible for whatever takes place in it!!! I don’t know about out there, but out here any bar that serves alcohol can be sued if someone is injured or killed by a drunk driver. I would imagine the same holds for a bar fight & someone gets injured. That’s why they have insurance!! Just sayin.
Well, our early summer has left us. We’re back to rain & cooler temps. the Rose Parade is Sat. & they’re predicting showers. they had 2 weekends that were nice, but they scheduled it for this weekend to wrap up the Rose Festival. I always thought it should kick off the festival at the beginning instead of at the end. It’s been a long time since we’ve had rain for the parade. The cooler temps are better than the hotter temps for the marchers in the parade. It’s a grueling 5 mile parade route. Last yr I believe it was really hot for the parade. the first part of last June was in the upper 90s & low 100s if I remember right. More like July.
Well, that’s about all I have for tonight. I hope everyone pulls through their surgeries, & Dr.s appts okay. take care all

    Hi Ladies,
I hope everyone had a great weekend. I have to say Adele, your visit to the car lot was hysterical. I don’t drive anymore so I’m not familiar with all the bells & whistles on cars these days. I always got the stripped down cars, meaning they didn’t have all the electrical gadgets. I actually had to roll my windows by HAND!!!! My thought is, the more bells & whistles you have the more you have to pay out to have it fixed when something goes wrong!!

Colleen, you should get through the surgery with no problem. Do they give you dark glasses to wear for a while till your eye heals? My friend had it done a few yrs ago & she could see better than 20/20 afterwards. You’ll be amazed how much better you’ll be able to see.

We had a cool cloudy weekend, but now we’re in for some nice weather. By mid week the rain returns tho. sigh.
Oh, those rallies & protests weren’t as violent as expected but there was some skirmishes. The ones who said they’d be peaceful were. There’s always some that have to cause trouble!! I say call in the National Guard & let them throw a brick at one of them & see who wins!!

Have your hubbies been tested for sleep apnea? The snoring is caused by the back of the throat collapsing & the breathing is labored, hence snoring.
I think there’s something you can wear in your mouth that keeps the throat from collapsing. Maybe if they went to an ear, nose & throat specialist they could help them out. Just a suggestion.

Well, that’s all from out here.
    Have a great week.

    Hi Ladies,
This is gonna be short as I haven’t read all your posts yet. Just wanted you to know they caught that guy who stole the backpack & wedding ring. Turns out a pizza parlor owner saw him & recognized him from the video they showed on TV. She actually knew him from him coming in asking for handouts. He’s homeless, so I’m glad he was found & arrested. Portland had a moment of silence at noon today in honor of the victims of last weeks attack. All of the buses, trains, stopped at the closest stops on their routes. A large crowd gathered at the stop where it took place. There’s a big memorial of cards, signs, flowers, people have left messages written in chalk all around the transit center. I;m gonna take the bus & go to that bus stop. Or even take the train. I’m not afraid to ride the train or bus.
I’m gonna try & send those pics I spoke of last night. Wish me luck.
    Have a great weekend.

    Hi Ladies,
Just when you think you’ve heard it all, it just gets worse, ie the stabbings last week. Today it came out that some thug stole one of the victim’s backpack & wedding ring!!! They have a clear video of him leaving the train amid the panic on the train. There were comments on FB & I put in my 2 cents, 3 letters, PIG!!! On a happier note the survivor met one of the girls he helped save. I’m gonna try to send along some of those pics. Verrrry touching pics.

We had another lovely day today. Cloudy with some sun, & no rain.

Well, I better get off here, I keep losing it.
    Have a great weekend.

    Hi Ladies,
Since this is the last day of May, I hope you’ll see this. We had what I call a perfect day. Partly sunny with clouds around but no rain. IT’s getting back to normal weather, finally!!! May is the driest month we’ve had all yr! Hooooray!
No you’re not crazy or maqcabe (?) about being interested in old cemeteries. They’re part of our history. Where I grew up there are a couple cemeteries that date back to the civil war, or there abouts. When you look at the dates, you find that they had several children & a lot of them died as babies. Probably due to what we now call childhood illnesses, colds, flu, etc. Oregon became a state Feb. 14th, 1859, so there were settlers out here.
Barbara I hope your safe & sound now. That must have been sooooo terrrrifying for you!!! I’d probably be screaming my head off.

There have been posts on FB about that POS & someone commented about putting a bullet in his head. My comment was, why waste a perfectly good bullet. Just drop him off in the Sahara desert, without food or water & let him go scream his hatred to the cobras. Pity the snakes.
Well, I better close for now.
    HAPPY First day of JUNE!!!

    Hi Ladies,
I hope you’re all fine today. Our weather did a 180 from the weekend. Our natural AC came in & cooled us off which is fine by me. We had heavy drizzle but no heavy rain. IT’s back to typical Oregon weather.
Adele you might want to go back to your post to me earlier today, & re-read it. The part about sparkle & shine…..lol
Oh yes, you’ve heard about the 2 men stabbed to death last Friday. Well, the one with the red beard, he has a long name, but his nick name was Tillie for short. He was the one who had just graduated from business college & had just bought a house. It’s just so very sad for everyone. The GoFund me pages have raised over $1 million for the families. This will be with us for a verrrrrry long time!!!
We used to have parades where I grew up, but they stopped having them yrs ago. I think they combined Memorial Day with the Strawberry festival parades back then. then in Albany they had the Timber Carnival over the 4th of July along with fireworks, & a parade kicked it off, but that’s just a memory now. It’s a shame since the kids don’t get to enjoy the fun of watching parades, etc.
    Well, that’s all for tonight.
