Hi Ladies,
I’m glad I was able to get on here. My computer wasn’t cooperating when I first got on here. I’m thinking the shutdown had something to do with it.
Adele, I was referring to the pic of the run down shack as my dream retirement home. LOL It needs some work, ya might say. lol.
It’s been raining out here. Tues. was soggy & this afternoon. We got a good soaking over the weekend. We have a loooooong way to go to catch up with the rain bucket. It’s the wettest it’s been in months!
NOT complaining tho!!
I just found out today we have 3 people in the bldg that have Covid. I don’t know who it is, tho.
I’m sorry about your brother, Colleen. I remember how it hit me when I found out my mom had cancer.
I’ll keep him in my prayers.
Snowball’s been a pill lately. I heard something fall when I was in my bedroom this morning. I came out & found one of my bouquets, knocked off the shelf. The thing that saved it was it fell off upside down! The glass vase didn’t hit the floor because the flowers hit the floor first cushioning the vase.
She’s been a pain in the butt, especially in the early AM. She’ll come running in & jump up on the bed & use me as a springboard to jump over to the tubs or wherever she wants to get to. She jumped up on the shelves where I have my kitty knick knacks & broke something on the shelf. She avoided me when I got after her for being naughty.
Well, I guess that’s about all for now.
Take care, stay safe.

My dream home is pictured above,LOLin reply to: Quacker Chat for September 2021 #134564Hi Ladies,
Colleen, I’m sorry to hear about your brother. I’ll keep him in my prao yers. You must be reeling from the news. I know it came as quite a shock when we were told mama had breast cancer. It was like getting hit with a 2X4. My world was turned upside down. I hope & pray they find something that will work.
Boy the days are sure getting shorter all the time. Dark by 7:30 now. It feels like midnight so early now.
It appears snowball’s fur is coming in thicker. That’s a sign of a cold winter.
We had a dry day today but the rain is coming back tomorrow.
I hope everyone was able to watch the QF show yesterday. it was too early for me. Besides, I can’t afford it anymore.
Well that’s all for tonight.
Take care, stay safe.
ddin reply to: Quacker Chat for September 2021 #134494HI Ladies,
Sorry I haven’t been on here for awhile. Nothing to talk about really. I think we made up for the lack of rain. We had a “firehose” of a rain storm blow through here late yesterday & it continued today. I think more rain is on the way. But we desperately needed it. We got a flood warning for some areas aroung the area. Low lying areas. I’m in no danger of flooding. I’m fine. We didn’t even get to 60 today.
I’m still getting my fall decor put out. I’m getting slower all the time. I think I over whelm myself at times.
Hallie’s out of the hospital & out & about. Her voice is still raspy from the intubation tube. I think she does too much too soon. She went back to the ER over the weekend, but left before being seen.
Well, I guess that’s all for tonight.
ddin reply to: Quacker Chat for September 2021 #134383HI Ladies,
I talked with Hallie today. She called me from her hospital room. She’s out of ICU now. Her voice is pretty bad from the intubation. She has to have pt since being in bed for so many days. they tried to get her up & she wasn’t able to stand up. I hope they get her the equipment she needs to keep breathing!! If she’d had it to begin with she wouldn’t have had to be in the ICU for more than a week.
so, anyway, there’s a QF show next week for fall again. Gail, I’m gonna have to look up your email address again & I can forward it to you.
We had some more showers today. it’s feels so good & the air smells so clean now. I haven’t heard how it’s effecting the fires tho..the cooler temps alone should be helping the firefighters.
Not much going on here.
Take care, stay safe.

PS: HAPPY FIRST DAY OF FALLin reply to: Quacker Chat for September 2021 #134314Hi Ladies,
I hope you all caught the QF show today. I loved several of the tops but they’re too expensive. Some were sold out before I got a good look at them. There was a sweater/jacket with cats on it & it sold out before the presentation. I like Mary as the host of the show. She was great for the Falloween show. she really gets into it.
It was a gorgeous early fall day today. After all the rain we got over the weekend, (over an inch & a half) the clouds parted & was a lovely day. It;s gonna be getting warmer the next couple of days, but cools down from Wed. on. I’ve pulled out my cooler weather clothes & put most of my summer stuff away. I’ve left some out just in case.
I see they’re having ” The joy of Christmas” sale for the next 3 days on the Q. I’ll have it on in the background while working around the house.
Well, no big news on Hallie. she’s still in ICU.
The full moon is gorgeous tonight. We got a clear view of it tonight.
Take care, stay safe.
ddin reply to: Quacker Chat for September 2021 #134265Hi Ladies,
Sorry I haven’t been on here lately. Hallie’s been in the hospital since last Sat. She went in with breathing problems & has been in ICU since then. Apparently when they went to intubate her, she vomited & some of it got into her lungs; causing her to develop pneumonia. (I don’t know how that happens, but that;s what I was told). and she’s been in a medically induced coma for most of the duration. Nobody’s allowed to visit due to the Covid restrictions. No idea when she’ll be well enough to come home. they have to make sure she can breathe on her own. Will keep ya posted on what happens. I went several days not knowing what was going on with her. I tried texting, many times but got nowhere. I was finally able to get a hold of her husband & he filled me in on what was going on.
Well we finally got a good rain storm this weekend. We got over an inch of rain so far. It’ll dry out in the next few days, but the temps will be much cooler. it sure felt good to feel the rain. It cleared out the smoke & it smells so much better. My windows got a good washing too! We had some ash drop in last week. the cars were plastered with it & so were the windows. the rain came down like a fire hose cleaning everything off. Before I forget, there’s a Falloween QF show on the Q @ 3:00 pm-5:00pm ET tomorrow(Monday). The host will be Mary D, so it should be a good show. She gets silly but that’s okay. I like her. I like her better than some of the other hosts. Aren’t I awful?
Adele, I imagine you’ll be put on a bland diet with your ulcer. Bananas are good for that. They’re bland, easy to digest, I think. Let’s see tapioca, cream of wheat, things that are easy to digest. Nothing with acidity. Good luck with that. I hope they’ve changed the diet since the last I heard about it.
Well, I guess I better get off here, before I lose this.
Take care, stay safe, & feel better soon Adele.
ddin reply to: Quacker Chat for September 2021 #133993Hi Ladies,
Gail, have you heard anything from Adele? I was shocked when I read your post! I hope she’s gonna be alright. I know she has so many issues right now. I’m praying for her healing. You;re right it is really scary nowadays. I wonder if her allergic reaction is the cause of all this or did they misdiagnose her.
I’ve gone out shopping with Hallie a couple times this week, so I’ve been able to get out a little bit. The weather wasn’t too bad. One day was pretty hazy with the smoke but nothing like we had last year. It was a yr ago Labor day weekend we had that horrific wind storm that blew down trees onto power lines that started those fires.
We could use a fraction of the rain from Ida just to help put out the fires! But then we’d have another set of problems if we did.
It looks like fall is in the air here. Some of the leaves are starting to turn. I;m pretty sure the heatwaves are done for this yr. I hope.
Not much going on so I’ll close for now.
Take care ladies. stay safe, stay well.
ddin reply to: Quacker Chat for September 2021 #133841Hi Ladies,
Adele I’m sorry to hear you’re so sick. Hallie’s had some kind of bug for the past couple weeks. She was tested for Covid, but it came back negative, thank goodness. She hasn’t gone to the hospital yet.
So did the hurricane hit you guys in Boston? I saw NYC was under water from it. Did it hit you? I hope it went out to sea.
Colleen, dizziness is usually from the inner ear. When my mom was in hospice I had dizzy spells & I couldn’t stand up or walk. I had a battery of tests but nothing came of it. Then I started to catch a cold, so I took Dimeatap cold med, & after a couple days or so the dizziness went away. Whatever it was the cold meds took care of it. One Dr. thought he saw water behind the ear drum but no one else did. If it was water behind the ear the antihistimin (?) took care of it.
We’re gonna have another mini heatwave this weekend. Mid 80s. It sure cools down when the sun goes down.
I got my fall decor out but not put out just yet. I still enjoy having the tropical pics out.
Not much going on here.
take care, stay safe, stay well.
