Hi Ladies,
Hooooooooooray!!! Charo got the boot tonight!! I cheated, I Googled it. I’m sorry if I ruined it for anyone. I’m sure it’ll be all over the news tomorrow.
I just can’t get into it this season. Some yrs are just like that. I get bored with some of these shows. I don’t watch the Bachelor, Bachelorette, or any of those “reality” shows. In my view there’s nothing real about em!! I remember when they were called game shows or something to that affect. In got a post
on my FB page that said she was ready to walk out cuz she didn’t like Bruno’s criticizing her. Poor baby. That’s what the judges DO!!!

Jewell got her hair cut today, & they didn’t do as good a job as usual. Her mane was uneven. She’s sitting next to me on the sofa arm, in front of the heater. It was nice today, but it was coooold last night, & again tonight. It’s too early for planting so hopefully no one has planted anything yet. Planting usually starts in May. The last threat of frost is after Mother’s Day.
Adele, we don’t have the horrible humidity out here that you guys have. If it gets above 50% we think we’re dying. Usually when we have high humidity is when it’s pouring down rain, & is cool. The hotter it gets the lower the humidity. It isn’t like a desert heat tho. I figured out that the border line between us & the high humidity is the Rocky Mts. East of them has the horrible humidity. West not so much. I know I whine about the weather, but we don’t have the humidity.
We are VERY PROUD of our Ducks!!! It was a heart breaker to lose by one point. Those hurt more than a blow out. If they’d made more of those baskets they missed they would’ve won. Hind sight is 20/20. there’s always next yr.

Hi Ladies,
uh oh, it seems I gave the wrong impression somewhere along the way. The new appliances aren’t mine personally. I didn’t buy em. My landlord did. But I’m delighted all the same!! I hope I didn’t give the wrong impression.
I find it interesting that different parts of the country don’t show the same shows. We have Harry Connick at 2pm, but we don’t have Steve Harvey, that I’m aware of. We get WGN out of Chicago on Comcast cable.
The weather was nice here today. And we just might hit the 70 degree mark midweek. Then the rain comes back.. sigh!! At least it isn’t snow. I can’t believe your still getting snow this late in the yr, Adele. Does it happen every yr?
Well, I don’t have anything else so I’ll go for now.

Hi Ladies,
I don’t know if you’ll see this or not since tomorrow is a new month. I’ll be sending along pics of my new fridge & stove. As you’ll see it’s in the spot where my desk was with all the Easter décor. I had to move it down to the opposite end of the living room, next to the windows.
Not much going on today, just getting back to normal after the big move.
I can’t believe you’re still getting snow this late in the yr, Adele. We still get it on the mt peaks, but it’s warming up down here, FINALLY!! The rain has let up for awhile. We’re supposed to be in the 60’s this coming week, maybe close to 70!! Yaaaaaahoooooooooo!!!! Can’t wait!!

I got those beads from Michaels. I believe I got em at Christmas time several yrs ago. I think they’re garlands for a tree. I picked up several they’re so beautiful. I keep em out yr round. I have several different varieties. I got ALOT of my décor from Michaels over the yrs. My artificial flowers, all kinds of stuff. And as for the Temp-tations, the blue egg shaped dishes are in the Floral Lace “summer” pattern. I use them for my summer décor with my tropical things, sea shells, etc. I’ll look up one of my pics from last summer.
Well, I guess that’s all I have for tonight.

Hi Sue,
It sounds like we have a few things in common. I don’t have a husband, boyfriend, kids or grandkids. At first I felt the same way, that I didn’t have anything to contribute to the conversations, & even said so at the beginning. I live out in the NW so about all I talk about is the weather out here. IT probably gets boring, but some days that’s all I have to talk about. So when I don’t have much to say, I just wait a few days till I do have something to say. That’s why you don’t always see a post from me on here. We’ll all be pulling for you when you have your surgery. I have a friend who’s had both hips replaced. Not at the same time tho. And I had open heart surgery in 1982 to patch up a hole in the heart. And I may have to have an angioplasty some time soon. My cardiologist will see me again the first week of May to see if I should have it. I’m 67 & having something done is scary. It’s no doubt simpler nowadays, but I’ll keep all of you posted. I just went thru a battery of tests a couple weeks ago, for the heart. I went in to the lab at 7:45 & didn’t get home till afternoon!!! They did an EKG, a nuclear stress test & echo cardiogram. I was exhausted when they got done. It took me a couple days to recover. And the vampires did take blood.

Adele, “THE HUSBAND???? All I can say is WOW!!!! Did you forget his name?? LOL He must be in the dog house for sure. Too bad we don’t live closer, I’d take that metal file. I could put it to good use!

We were promised back when they were doing the construction on the bldg that we’d get new appliances. They put new appliances in the 2 floors of the hotel apts we lived in while they worked on our apts. So we were supposed to get em too. Well I got mine today!! I got a normal sized fridge & stove. We had small appliances & most apts still have em. I had to rearrange my whole living room for the fridge. The old one fit under some kitchen cupboards but the new one is a lot taller so it wouldn’t fit there. It’s next to the kitchen counter now. I’m NOT complaining!! I love the new appliances!! I haven’t used the new stove yet. Of course there’s another one who is totally confused, (Jewell). Every time she comes out it seems like something has been moved to another spot. Now that they’re in, now I can finish up & get it back to some normalcy. If that’s possible.
Speaking of Jewell, she has an apt for Monday to get her hair cut. I’m late doing it since it was cold the first of this month. But it’s warming up now. The rain has tapered off. We’re actually seeing sun breaks during the day. Then after she gets her hair cut, she gets to go to the vet. Pooor baby.
Oh, I think you’ll get a chuckle out of this. Yesterday when I got up & came out here, I found one of my little stuffed bunnies was on the floor. I have a feeling someone was checking out things & knocked it off the shelf. lol I have no proof, but I doubt the bunny hopped off by itself.
I’m sending more Easter pics. Do you see the Temp-tations in my display? I love putting em out on display during the holidays.

I’m such an air head. Thank you for your concern, & thank you for the prayers. I haven’t decided when to have the procedure done. I’m apprehensive about it. I shouldn’t be but I am. Thank you for being there for me, even if you are across the country. It means a lot to me.

Hi Ladies,
Another soggy day out here. UGH!!! I’m pretty sure the shows on CBS were either postponed or reruns due to the basketball games. They’re coming to an end shortly so the network will go back to regular programming. I remember when they’d be on from the beginning of March preempting all daytime shows, before the cable networks took over broadcasting a lot of the games.
do any of you get WGN, out of Chicago? They have reruns of Blue Bloods on quite abit. Ya might want to check it out.

I live on the 12th floor & it’s the best floor in the bldg. Sat, I was over at Kay’s when I was getting ready to leave. As I stood in the door saying goodbye, who should be walking down the hall but a police officer. He was doing a walk thru the bldg. We introduced ourselves & thanked him for his service. It was good to see the police making their presence known.
Did any of you watch the Cooking with Q day today? I’d love to get one of those air fryers, but can’t afford it right now. Not till I get some of my easy pays paid off. LOL. Adele, did you get the pot stickers? How were they? I’ve wondered if they’re good. They look good on TV. But everything looks good to me. Esp the Junior’s mini cheesecakes!! I love them!!

I see David’s Carolina Tarheels will be playing our Ducks in the final 4 next weekend. I’m not holding my breath, but ya never know.

I’m back. Our Ducks just beat the # 1 Kansas team!!! Can you hear us out there??? The whole state is going nuts!!!
OK, I’ll get off sports.
I can’t believe your postmen do things like that, leaving pkgs in the back of a pickup!!! We see during the holiday season videos of UPS drivers throwing pkgs over fences, throwing pkgs around in their trucks, but also thieves walking up & taking pkgs right off the porches. In broad daylight no less. UPS delivers right to my door here, esp if I have to sign for it. I noticed I was getting some of my pkgs from the Q in the mail. They packed my pkgs from QF & Denim & co into my small box. If it’s too big they leave it locked up till I can pick it up.
I got an email saying my order had been shipped. come to find out one of the QF pedal pushers I wanted went on waitlist, & I didn’t think I’d ever see em. I usually don’t when they go on wait list. So I’ll have 2 pairs of red pedal pushers. that’s ok. Different styles.
When they were showing the contestants on DWTS, I counted 5 that I know. I get bored when I don’t know many of the stars. I think it’ll come to the athletes at the end. I could see ice skating moves when Nancy did her dance. Same goes for Simone (?). I love Len. Esp when he gives a 10 from Len.
I don’t think Charo, Mr. T; the guy from SNL (I don’t watch it), & the woman from the Housewives will last very long. I remember Charo from the Hollywood Squares decades ago!! Does that date me or what??!
I wanted to ask if any of you have bought anything of Issac Mizrahi?? He had the cutest dress on today, but I don’t wear dresses anymore. He’s such a character.

Hi Ladies,
Sorry I’ve been so long in getting back to you. Where do I begin. It’s been a real stressful time this week & when I tell ya, please don’t freak out on me.
I’m okay. OK? Last weekend we had 2 incidents here in the bldg. One was an OD, but we don’t know if he got to the hospital in time or not. Then early Sunday AM there was a shooting on the 5th floor. Probably a drug deal gone bad. We’ve never had a shooting here, ever!!! I didn’t hear a thing. I didn’t know anything about it until it started coming up on my phone. I get breaking news from local stations. They said someone was taken to the hospital with non life threatening gun shot wounds. I looked out & the bldg. was surrounded by yellow crime scene tape & I swear half of the Portland Police force had the bldg. surrounded!!!! I’d heard sirens, but I hear em all the time around here. I went to my neighbor next door & he told me the guy who was shot died in the stairwell from his wounds. I heard a couple of stories, but the news told a whole different story. They never reported the guy dying. And we haven’t heard anymore about it. The SWAT team showed up & they brought in a dog. I guess they were looking for the suspect, but he go away, form what I heard.
BUT here comes the good news. Remember I talked about how we need guards here? WELL WE HAVE EM NOW!!!!!!!!!!! We kept telling management we needed 24 hr guards here, but they kept singing the same song, we don’t have the funds for em. We had a resident/ management mtg on Wed. & we got the same song & dance. So I asked pointedly, how much is my life worth to management? How much is my life worth to corporation that owns the bldg.? You should’ve seen the look on her face. You’d think I hit her with a 2×4. Her jaw dropped, eyes got big, & she was speechless. NO ONE had ever put it that was before. I can’t even remember what she said. Probably the same song, second verse, same as the first. But we do have guards on sight for the time being.
Now for the tests. I’m gonna have to have an angiogram, which means I’ll probably have to have an angioplasty. He says the back of the heart appears that it isn’t getting enough blood supply. I’m more nervous about it this time around. If he says so I’ll have to go under the knife. Not open heart surgery but they go up thru the groin & put in a balloon thing in an artery.
Adele I can’t believe your still getting snow!!!! We’re about to float away, we’ve had rain, rain & more rain. The Columbia River is starting to flood in the lower lying areas. I’m in no danger from that. We are beyond over this weather. Spring vacation started today for the Oregon kids, but they’re not gonna get much spring like weather. they had a week’s worth of snow days, & I thought they might cancel it altogether to make up the days but they figured something else out.
I hope those kids get over what ever it is they have. At that age you need to be really careful with high fevers.
I don’t watch Scandal so you won’t ruin it for me. I watch Designated Survivor, & This Is Us.
Our Oregon Ducks, quack, quack, basketball team is in the Elite 8. I think they play Sat. night against Kansas(?).
The Q sure hasn’t had much on for the past few days. Jewelry, makeup, I find borring!! I did catch QF on the other day. Lots of cute tops but no $$$$!!!
I’ve got my wardrobe for the next 10 yrs!! LOL
I took pics of my apt, decorated for Easter/spring. Oh yeah, I heard a rumor that spring began this week. I just have one question….WHERE?????!!!!! NOT here! I was watching the Weather channel & they were talking about how hot it is in parts of the country. I’m yelling at the TV, send it here!! Tell the country how cold & wet it is out here in the NW. We’re floating away!!
I better end this novel before I lose it.
