    Adele,
The “orb” is the sun. lol
I was telling Greg how Piper was making me dress up with her on Monday and then he mentioned that she had him dressing up when he was over there Saturday helping Adam. Can you say “wrapped around her little finger”?

    Hi Colleen,
You should have a sign made up “this property is patrolled by attack guineas or beware the watch guineas.” lol Since you like them I hope that Ron keeps them. It is nice that they eat the ticks. I hate ticks! They’re just gross! We used to have chickens at our old house and it was nice having the eggs but then you are tied down to the chickens and can’t travel. At the time our neighbors had chickens and a horse and when either of us were out of town we would trade watching each other’s animals,so that worked out okay back then. Except we had no rooster and they did and our chickens were very docile but when you went in with their rooster you had to take a stick to defend yourself because the rooster was mean! That was back when we were young. Now I wouldn’t do that-I can’t move quickly enough anymore. lol
I do remember the Pacers. I think they were out about the same time as the Gremlins.
I don’t know if Barbara’s computer is broken. I think she has a tablet and a smart phone so she could use those to tell us at least if she was okay. So that’s what worries me-last time when we didn’t hear anything for a long time she had a stroke-so I worry that everything is not okay. I know she didn’t post as often as the rest of us but it seemed like we heard from her at least weekly. As for Debbie-I e-mailed again but haven’t heard back yet. It’s so sad that such a great person has to deal with being sick all the time.
Right now I’m watching the Today show and they have Irish dancers from Riverdance. They are really good. I would have cramps in my legs from dong all the stuff that they do. Oh to be young and fit again!
You are right. Our neighbor’s don’t have a putting green next to their pond like we do. So we are unique if nothing else. I guess the pond could be considered a water hazard like on the golf course. I would venture to guess that some of his drives from the back of the property have landed in the water. lol
It was really windy yesterday. We had some 70 mph gusts. We lost a tree in our front yard-but I would rather lose a tree than a roof.
I’m enjoying the programming on the Q today. The Irish Days always seem so cheerful. I like to watch even if I am not buying. The TSV is selling quickly.

    Hi Dianne,
Your kitty looks like a little lion with her new haircut. Our dog really needs a grooming-somehow I forgot to make him an appointment. I usually make him a new one when he gets done each time and for some reason last time I didn’t. Just forgetfulness, I guess.
We don’t care if you read each other’s postings. We all do it-it sparks conversations sometimes and we all know people can read them whenever they want as it is a public site. Maybe after awhile you will feel more comfortable doing that.
My daughter’s MIL has a Mini Cooper and that car is really tiny. Her husband gave it to her for an anniversary gift a couple of years ago.
I think Adele is having spaghetti or something Italian for Easter so you are not the only one doing that. I figure everyone should eat what they like on a holiday. I’m not married to any one thing except I really like the traditional foods like turkey and ham.
I am not on Facebook. My husband is but it just was never anything that I was that interested in doing. It seems like he has to wade through a lot of junk to see the parts that he really wants to see.
I’m glad that you have sunshine. It just seems to make the day much more cheerful.

    Hi Dianne,
I hope that you can get your pictures posted. if you can’t post them as an attachment because the file is too big you can post them on your page and we can see them there. The old site had a much better way of posting pictures and you could post videos too. The new site is not as user friendly. The discussions used to have pages so you didn’t have to scroll way down to find the last posting. But we have no choice-we have to take what they have given us. For awhile when they changed we thought we were going to lose our discussions so we are just glad to still have that.
Cold and blustery here in Illinois today. I guess spring has not come yet.

    Hi Adele,
I think I used that cellophane grass once in Easter baskets when the kids were little and that was it. After that they had grassless baskets. That stuff gets all over and sticks to everything. I think they used that as filler to make the baskets look choc full. I would rather put more stuff in there than have that dreaded grass all over the place. Plus the cats would sometimes chew it and then throw it up. I also liked to use buckets or other things that the kids could use as a toy rather than just a basket.
Gosh when I think of it we have had cars of many colors over the years. Years ago i used to often inherit Greg’s old car when he got a new one. There was one-I can’t even remember the make that was red and white and I couldn’t reach the pedals or see over the wheel-I had to sit on a pillow. lol Greg also had a little red Gremlin at one time-remember those? Gosh we have had a lot of different cars over the years.
Well we had pouring rain last night and lots of wind today. 60 m.p.h. gusts. I think there may have been some tornado sightings way west of us in Illinois. It’s quite the blustery day. We couldn’t even put out the recycling bin for the garbage pickup since it would just blow away so we’ll just have to skip it this week and hope two weeks from now it won’t be so windy-otherwise we will be overflowing.
I e-mailed Barbara twice but never got any answer. So we are just left wondering what is going on. Hopefully, she is okay and eventually will show back up on here. There’s nothing else that I can think of to do and I don’t want to be a pest either.
Does JJ have asthma or allergies or both? I hope that he is doing better today.
Monday when I was babysitting Piper was having me play dress up. It was interesting me putting the clothes on my arm. lol I guess when Greg was over there Saturday she was making him play dress up too. I wish I had a picture of that. lol That child thinks her grandparents are there for her entertainment only! lol She pays us back in hugs and kisses though so that is okay.

    Hi Colleen,
Yah-if only the kids would let us pick their partners-but we know that would never work as who would listen to us. What’s funny about that is the girl that I would have picked for Brent from high school is Adam’s brother’s wife-so she is sort of a family member but only through our daughter’s marriage not our sons. It’s weird how things work out sometimes.
Your ground must never get a real hard freeze if Ron can plant fall onions. I wonder if you can chop some onions and freeze them like you can green peppers to use in pasta dishes and chili’s and omelets. I would think so but i never tried as it has been a long time since we grew onions. We don’t grow nearly as many things as we used to grow. It’s nice that we have Jenny who lives close so we can give the excess vegetables to her. She’s lucky she gets eggs and meat from her inlaws and veggies from us in the summer.
That mac and cheese from the Q is good. Our kids and grands like it alot.
The people that grow the daffodils have beautiful landscaping. Her father was a master gardener and she learned so much from him. For the most part she designs all the landscaping and her husband does most of the work. He was the one who planted all those daffodil bulbs on her instructions. The bad part is they only bloom for a few weeks in the spring and then they are gone for the rest of the year so you have to really stop and savor them when they are flowering. They put in a koi pond after seeing ours and their’s is landscaped so beautifully with even a little gazebo out there to sit and contemplate the fish from.

    Hi Dianne,
It’s always the good food that we are supposed to stay away from. No one ever says stay away from spinach! lol I try to live by everything in moderation but that does not always work either. Anyway, it’s good to know that you are feeling better. Your doctor sounds like he or she? – has a sense of humor about things too.
The Temptations are pretty and they always have something new. I just totally had to stop buying kitchen stuff of all kinds as there is no place to store anything anymore and with just my husband and I home now I don’t need as much cooking stuff as I used to. it’s fun to just watch the pretty things though-so now I just do that.

    Hi Colleen,
I think that’s a good idea to get that coconut cake and decorate it up for Easter. I’ll bet that will be good.
Greg takes me with when he buys a new vehicle but then he doesn’t listen to what i say anyway. lol He already has his mind made up ahead of time. That’s okay-I don’t really mind.
I won’t mind if Brent just takes his time with this new relationship. I don’t want him to jump into anything and get hurt again either. So I hope he takes plenty of time to get to know his girlfriend and her family.
I didn’t see anything called hens and chicks on the Q so i really don’t know what it is. Is it some type of grass or groundcover? I like the cute name whatever it is.
It’s much too early to plant here. Greg will probably start plants in the house next month. He also built a little greenhouse box for when they start getting bigger but it’s still too early to plant outdoors. One of my favorite times is in May. The people across the street from us have a section of their property that has hundreds of daffodils planted on it. I love driving by when they are in bloom. It is so incredibly cheerful looking.
We’re supposed to get storms tonight. Not looking forward to that. Maybe they will pass us by.

    Hi Adele,
I love learning about the different foods that Christine cooks. Sometimes it’s the same thing as us only with a different name. She does cook alot and then has to sometimes make sure that it’s something that can be reheated if Stewart is working odd hours. I’ll bet her food is delicious too.
We don’t do any special Saint Paddy’s dinner-what does a Polish person and a Lithuanian know about Irish meals anyway. lol For years we used to go to a party at a person’s house whose parents came from Ireland and her actual birthday is on Saint Patrick’s Day and her name is Patty. lol But once their kids grew up they stopped having the party. It was crazy-there were people our age and people their kids age-the overflow went into the garage-and then the Choirboys would set up their equipment and do a concert in the family room.
You are probably feeling cranky because you are tired and overwhelmed from everything that has been going on. We all have a right to be cranky once in awhile. It’s in our contract. lol Once you can stop and bake something you will probably feel relaxed again. I know if I have had a busy day where i did not stop and read something I can actually feel how I have missed it. We all have our stress relievers that we need to cope. But go ahead and be cranky and get it out of your system-you will feel better. And this is the place to come as we are here to listen when each other needs to vent. Plus a little retail therapy always helps too so I hope that you love your new Temptations.
I wish I had know more about Podiatrists when my MIL lived with us. Her toenails were so thick that i couldn’t cut them myself so Greg would have to soak her feet and cut them when it needed to be done. He hated it and she wasn’t crazy about it either. After she passed someone told me that we could have taken her to the podiatrist to have that done and it would have been covered by Medicare and everything. I wish we had known that earlier. Someone should publish a handbook about all the little practical things to know about caregiving-they cover all the broad things but not many of the little day to day things that would help. I learned so much when I took care of her.
I have to use the running boards to get into the pick up which I don’t go in much anyway. Brent had a SUV and I had to use a step stool to get into his. That was pretty funny.
Adele, it takes a special person to want a red car-I will have to live vicariously through yours. Although they say a red car gets more speeding tickets so maybe I’m just as well without one as once in awhile I do drive over the limit on these back roads with no one else around. Shame on me!
I didn’t see The Chew yesterday so I missed the fun.
I hope that JJ feels better soon so that he can come over for Easter. I feel sorry for the kids when they get sick during school. That is miserable.
They are predicting thunderstorms with the possiblity for severe weather tonight so I guess the tornado season could be starting. I hate that part of the year and feel really bad for Jenny as she has a fear of storms. She always calls here and makes sure we go in the basement if there are tornado warnings.
Here’s something that might cheer you up. Did you think the humor in the movie Airplane was funny. If so there is a TV program called Angie Tribeca on Monday night on TBS-it has the same type of humor and is hilarious. It’s written by Steve Carrel and his wife and it actually makes us laugh out loud-it’s so silly!
