    Hi Dianne,
Welcome to the group! It used to be when you got your notification that someone had posted on a discussion that you had also posted on you could click on the notification and it would take you right to the posting. Now it’s a more roundabout route. They said they were working on being able to click on a link awhile back but I have not seen any progress on that yet. You also used to be able to copy and paste pictures and put on videos and we can no longer do either.
I live in northern Illinois practically on the Wisconsin border so it will be quite awhile before we will be doing any gardening. Do you live someplace warmer? I love flowers too but have sort of a brown thumb so we finally just ended up planting a garden of perennials. So far that has worked out pretty well. My husband is the gardener-he’s much better at it than I am. Did you used to do a lot of gardening? We used to have a poster, Debbie, that was our gardening expert. She just loved it and was so good at it. I used to enjoy seeing her garden pictures. Unfortunately she became ill and has not been on much of late.
Hope that you have a good weekend. We had snow again last night.

    Hi Colleen,
It’s funny how some people love to wear jewelry and others don’t. Jenny is not a big jewelry person. In fact she doesn’t even wear her wedding rings except when she goes out and I never take mine off. I hope my granddaughters like jewelry as I have lots to give them.
I’m sorry, Colleen, but it’s a long time until November so you still have a lot of politics to listen to before the election. I can’t even listen to the Republican debates because there is no discussion of issues-it’s all insults and name calling and bullying. The debates are supposed to be a chance for all these guys to state their platforms so we know what they intend to do if they get elected but so far there has been none of that-so how does anyone make an informed decision. I am like you-I hate when the commentators tell you what you just heard-like they think you are too stupid to figure it out for yourself. It’s so repetitious.
You probably notice the butterfly stuff from Quacker more now since I always talk about it. I think she’s always done a lot of butterfly and dragonfly stuff. Isn’t it funny how they never have any duck stuff though. Years ago I had a black tshirt that had Quacker written across the front of it in rhinestones. I asked Patrick if they could make another only with a little duck on it with Quacker written underneath over on the left shoulder-like a polo shirt would have the insignia. He thought it was a good idea and said he would pass it on. I would love something like that. You would think Quacker factory would do more duck things though.
I hope that you have fun with Owen and Aliza today. I’m wondering where he would chose for dinner-if it was our grands they would choose McDonalds or Dairy Queen. Is he in second grade this year? I think he and Kendall are in the same grade.

    Hi Colleen,
Thanks for doing all that looking for shows on the Q. I will look for that programming.
I think most of the woman at the Oscars get their dresses and jewels loaned to them. I would love to try out some of that expensive jewelry myself.
I got an email from Quacker-none of us won the giveaway this month. Sometime one of us has got to win. That would be so great.
That’s such a nice idea about sending Christine Mother’s Day wishes on Sunday. I know that is a hard day for her as she is estranged from her children. Her husband must have been a real jerk. No husband should abuse his wife-or vice versa for that matter. I’m glad she had the courage to get out of that relationship. Now I just need to remember to send her the wishes. My memory is not always the best.

    Hi Adele,
I hope that your back is feeling better and that Gary’s recuperation is going good. Will he have to do physical therapy?
I must ask-what is harissa paste? I never heard of it. Sounds exotic.
You are really good having all the Easter basket stuff done already. I haven’t even thought about that yet.
Got my hair done yesterday. I had lent my beautician some books and she gave them back to me and I left them behind. I am a dunder head! lol
I have to babysit again today as Jenny’s MIL is in Washington. I am getting nothing done around here. Hope to make some enchiladas suizas for dinner.
    Gotta go.

    Hi Everyone,
Adele, I hope that your back is feeling better today. That is funny about the anesthesia curing Gary’s food issues. You should have sent in a hypnotist while he was still under to suggest that he likes all foods. lol That was great of Marrissa to do all that shopping. She’s definitely a keeper! Your Minions come through again!
We had some snow last night but nothing near the 6 inches they predicted. Hopefully we won’t get anymore.
We watched a little bit of the Oscars-I wanted to see Chris Rock’s opening monologue. Then we turned it off and i saw it again at the end for the best actress, actor and movie. I’m sorry that they skipped Sly Stallone again. I can’t believe how thin most of those women are-they must never eat. Plus I wonder how uncomfortable those gowns are-they are probably happy to get home and put on their pajamas. Especially the women who have on those dresses that have to be taped to them so their boobs don’t show. The dresses and jewelry are pretty but like in a fairy tale kind of way as they are so outside of what most people’s real lives are like. I’d rather be in my dream jeans and tennis shoes.
Colleen, did you see the post from a Mary G. Borjas asking if there is anyone on here from the St. Louis/St. Charles area?
I agree the Chick’s nite in shows do seem more relaxed and fun.
I hope they have the Irish shows too-but they no longer do all day programming for them. So much has changed in the 25 years that I have been watching. I really wonder why they decided to do away with Big Bonanza Silver. I used to love that programming. They just don’t seem to have as many new jewelry designs as they used to. I guess there is just too much competition from other online retailers. I know you are not a big jewelry person but I always enjoyed those shows a lot. Just like yesterday was a fashion day and no one even seemed to mention it. It used to be a big deal when it was a fashion day and now it’s barely mentioned in passing.
I hope that shot will help Christine’s heel. They have been taking forever to help her-I don’t know how she has withstood the pain for so long.
Last night we went to a visitation for a friend’s Dad who passed away. These people used to be our neighbors so our kids grew up together. The man’s son was there with his new baby and I couldn’t believe how much father, son and grandson looked alike. It was unbelievable. I wanted to line them up and take their picture together.
Whoops! I just looked out the window and it’s snowing again. Maybe I spoke too soon. I hope we don’t get more accumulation.
Jenny’s MIL is out in Washington again so I will have to take over her babysitting duties again while she is gone. Yesterday Kendall was there too as she was home sick with a stomach ache. I felt bad for her as she seemed uncomfortable. They weren’t sure in the morning if she was faking or not but she was very quiet while I was there so it seemed like it was for real to me. I stayed later so Jenny could stop by at the wake too. I asked Kendall if she wanted her Mom to bring home something special for her but she said no. I hope that she’s feeling better today.
I hope the weather stays good and you get to see Owen for his birthday and little Aliza Mae. That will be a fun visit. It’s hard to believe that when I started coming on here Owen and Kendall were like 2 or 3 and Lachlan and Kaylee weren’t even born yet! We’ve been chatting a long time!

    Good Morning Everyone,
I’m starting a new chat for March. I hope that I can get things spelled right this time! lol See you all over there.

    Hi Colleen,
The skort did look cute on everyone so I am going to try it out and see if I like it. Of course it will be another three months before I can actually wear it. lol I’m sure your knees are just fine and not as bad as you say. When it gets hot in the summer I wear shorts. The Quacker ones and one style of D and Co. comes right down to my knees so I like them a lot. Now I won’t show my thighs as they are so full of cellulite they look like the surface of the moon-I’m surprised a lunar module hasn’t tried to land on them. lol I found a company called Juno Active that actually has long swimshorts that come to the knee. I bought some last year before we went to Florida so I could use them in the pool. I love them and they come almost to my knees. I had been looking for something like that for ages. I love internet shopping! You can find just about everything.
I forgot that you used to have a Saint Patrick’s Day party and hide the gold (chocolate) coins for the kids to find. It will be close to Easter this year. I wonder if the Q will have Saint Patricks Day programming this year. They have had less and less over time. Also I swear March First used to be Big Bonanza Silver Day and they sold silver jewelry all day long-I don’t see one silver program on that day this year. I love jewelry so I miss those shows. They had so much better jewelry years ago-and a lot of variety and price points. They had tons of diamonique designs-now all that stuff has fallen by the wayside. I miss those shows but I guess I am saving money instead as they just don’t have as much stuff that I like anymore. Things change and ebb and flow and I guess there’s nothing we can do about it but change too or get left behind.
I hope that you are having nice weather too. We are having a glorious weekend!

    Hi Adele,
Wow! Gary is home quickly. I’m glad to hear that the pain has been minimal. I’m trying to picture the shoulder icing thingy and I have no idea what it is. Is it a machine that you have to return to the hospital? I hope he continues to do well post surgery. I like his outfit-pajama pants and hospital gown-all it needs is to be Quackified.
Your lemon cakes look so tempting! It’s making me hungry just looking at them. lol
We had a glorious day up near 60 yesterday. We got out and about a little bit as it’s about time to replace my car so we were out looking around. It’s no rush so we will take our time until we come across what I want. It just felt so good to be out walking around with no snow or freezing temps.

    Hi Cynthia,
I have that shirt in the pink also. I’m sorry that you have a new diagnosis of diabetes now. Life has sure thrown you lots of curveballs-but you are a strong Quacker woman and will overcome them all. If you need help managing your diabetes I’m sure Colleen can answer many questions as she has had it for quite awhile herself and knows a lot about it. I hope that you are enjoying your new home. I’ll bet you are hoping it’s your last move for awhile. It’s good to hear from you again.
