Jeanne Bice loved everything about Christmas and the holiday season so much that she wrote a book for her beloved Quackers and friends. She wanted to inspire them to love the holiday season as much as she did…so she decided to share her personal memories, family stories, gift ideas, party ideas, favorite recipes, everything!
Among her favorite memories were her annual Cookie Exchange parties, which she brought to QVC years later.
This year the Quacker Factory Cookie Exchange will be Friday, November 16 on QVC at 3-5 PM ET. It will be a Live Audience Show, and you’re invited to make memories together!
You’ll have the chance to WIN ONE OF 10 GIFT BAGS that the audience members are getting….PLUS a FABULOUS HOLIDAY WREATH that will be featured on the show…PLUS we’re giving away 20 COPIES OF JEANNE’S CHRISTMAS BOOK… JUST CLICK HERE TO ENTER!
Several years ago Angel wrote a delightful blog about Jeanne’s love of Christmas and her book, which we are repeating here today for the many new Quackers who may not have seen it.
You’ll get a taste of the memories she had…and be inspired to make new memories for yourself and your family.
Her philosophy definitely lives on at The Quacker Factory, and we ‘BELIEVE’ in the Magic of Christmas and love bringing that joy and sparkle to everything we do! So, I thought I’d share some tips we learned from Jeanne to ‘Keep the Spirit of Christmas’ going!
First… START EARLY! We never stop thinking about Christmas – in fact, our dynamic ‘Dream Team’ is already at work creating designs for NEXT Christmas!
Next, THROW A COOKIE EXCHANGE PARTY! Jeanne loved this type of party. That’s why we started this annual tradition on QVC. She would even send out a ‘save the date’ invitation in July! So have your OWN party with all your best girlfriends! The key is asking everyone to bake a dozen cookies for each person coming and have them tell you what type of cookie they are each making to get the most variety! Speaking of cookies, Diane, our lovely artist from ‘Team Quacker,’ just made a batch of Jeanne’s famous ‘Snickerdoodle Cookies’ and decorated them with snowmen.
“THINKING THRIFTY!” When budgets were a little tight, Jeanne used to make gift baskets centered around a theme. She’d fill them with simple, inexpensive items that were meaningful or helpful to the receiver! So get creative this year and use your imagination!!
