Thanksgiving Day is perhaps the most celebrated of all American holidays. Regardless of religion, ethnic background or nationality. Americans eagerly look forward to gathering with family and friends to share good food and companionship.

Nobody loved Thanksgiving more than Jeanne Bice did! Whether it was celebrated at her home or at her son, Tim’s, home, it was a celebration with family, friends and strangers (who always became friends.)

But, Jeanne had a slight problem with Thanksgiving Day. It’s the word “Day”.

You see, Jeanne believed that we should celebrate everyday. And that included, being grateful! So she adopted a “GRATITUDE ATTITUDE!” And she practiced it every single day.

After every show at QVC, she wrote a note or phoned the hosts, the producers, and the behind-the-scenes talent to thank them. As she walked the long hall from the studio to the QVC front door, she bowed her head in a silent prayer of thanksgiving.

In her book, The Rubber Duck Principle, Jeanne wrote “I have discovered that one of the greatest ways to change my thinking is through being grateful.”

She went on to be quite clear: “You don’t have to look for big things to be grateful for. When a stranger holds a door open, tell them, ‘Thank you,” even if it makes you feel old. When a waiter gives great service, don’t just leave a tip. Say “thank you” out loud.”

Perhaps most importantly, Jeanne reminded us that we should be grateful for everything…and everyone, who got us to where we are today. The people who inspired us. Those who believed in us. The person who saw the sparkle in us and made it brighter.

Now here’s advice Jeanne shared that’s unexpected: “Be grateful for things that haven’t even happened yet. God has a future plan for you, and if you are grateful for it, and appreciate it, sight unseen; it will be exactly the future that is the perfect one for you. Love the life you’re going to get, and be grateful for it”

Jeanne practiced her GRATITUDE ATTITUDE every day. Especially to the millions of women she met through QVC—her Quackers—who made it all possible. “They came as customers,’ she said. ‘They stayed as friends.”

And so at this special time of the year, all of us at Quacker Factory want to express our GRATITUDE ATTITUDE, to you!

Thank you for your loyalty. Thank you for your inspiration. Thank you for your support. Most of all, thank you for your friendship.

Happy Thanksgiving…. every day!
