Do you have certain memories from your life that you would consider Red Carpet moments? Now I am sure that lots of us have imagined being on the Red Carpet for the Oscars, or the Grammys in a beautiful one of a kind gown.  If you haven’t, perhaps you know someone who has dreamed of this moment, maybe even someone who has actually experienced this.

But what about the everyday moments in your life?  You know those extra special moments that you pull from your memory, and you just smile.  Maybe it is your wedding day, maybe it is your promotion celebration at work, maybe it was a surprise party held in your honor.  We all have them—and I want to ask you to tell me what YOUR special Red Carpet moment was.

I am blessed to have had a few Red Carpet moments in my life.  The first that comes to mind is, years ago I worked for a cosmetics company and I was one of the top sales people in our region. So I got to walk across the stage in front of an arena full of consultants, in a gorgeous gown, and I accepted my seven carat amethyst ring!!  It was like a dream to me, I thought I needed to pinch myself to make sure it wasn’t a dream.  Today, every time I think of that moment, or look at my gorgeous ring—I smile!

Another moment is when my sister Vickie, my cousin Christy and I travelled to California. Unfortunately, we went to clean out my Uncle’s apartment, he had passed away.  But, the girls had never been to Los Angeles or to Hollywood, and probably wouldn’t make it back there again, so I had to make sure they got to see as much as we could fit in.

So one day we decided to go see Mann’s Chinese theater & we happened upon an ACTUAL RED CARPET!!  As we nudged our way to the barricades, I saw that this was an event for the American Film Institute (AFI).  As we asked questions of our fellow on lookers, we were told that the AFI was honoring AL PACINO!!!  So we waited, and we saw star, after star walk the Red Carpet.  And then finally we saw Al Pacino!!  What a thrilling experience for us all!!!!

The final Red Carpet Moment that I think of is one that involved Jeanne, Lee, Susan, Kristy & Colleen—all of the fabulous women who work for Quacker Factory.  Three years ago, I bought my first home.  And Jeanne, with the help of all those other amazing gals, threw me a surprise housewarming party.  I have to tell you that it is hard to fool me.  And these girls did!!  They got me to the party under the guise that it was a girl’s night out-not uncommon for our team.  The funny thing was, I was scheduled to be shooting a fitness video that day—ALL DAY!!  So I told Jeanne that I would try to be there.  Of course I did not know what was in store for me, and Jeanne looked at me in her matriarchal way and said—“Angel, you need to be there, you work too much, and I am sick of you never being able to attend our parties!!”  I gulped, and said, “Ok, I will be there!”

Tired from my day of shooting, I walked into the room where the party was being held, and I was taken aback.  Not only was my Quacker family there, my ACTUAL family was there, and lots of my closest, dearest friends.  The entire evening was a wonderful, blissful, blur.  I was so tired from the fitness shoot, and so overwhelmed by everyone’s generosity.  But I have to tell you, it was one of THE most wonderful moments in my life.  I have tears in my eyes just remembering that evening.

So I want to hear about your moments…. Please share them with me!!
